Wow , I'm not sure if it gets much better than this. We had our first visit of this babe at Heathrow today 20 jan 2012, but it was grey/cloudy/ rainy, and with a black aircraft with all the grey skies(mildly depressing) LOL I'll get her on a sunny day,in the meantime your great footage has cheered me up,great job!!!!!!!
When you see the mechanic put up the stepladder on the side of the engine nacelle you get a real perspective on just how BIG those engines, and indeed the whole airplane, truly are. Without this perspective it looks kind of like a 737 on steroids. Max gross take-off weight is 775,000 lbs.....nothing small about that. Love this Air New Zeland "black" livery.
Stunning airplane. B777-300ER is enormous -the video gives a good impression of its size. GE90-115B engine nacelles are 11+ feet in diameter. Each engine can develop up to 115,000 lbs thrust (~100,000 hp)
@MrFlashjet Thanks, the hard part was not the weather but which runway. Staging at 25 (most other time) then switch to 24, had to do some high speed run in order to catch the landing. Is there such a thing as sunny day in January in London? :-D
@linjeflyg Hehe no I was in England long enough! Would have been great to fly though! At least I got to take ZK-OKP on the way out on her second day of flying :)

@mobility12 On the departure level, between Terminal one and two. Air New Zealand always get the closest gate to the terminal, excellent view there.

It;s random but OKQ serve LAX very frequent
Really? This plane was brand new then. You must have a giant screen to see that.
@HeathrowSpottingHD You should had waited for your LA trip on NZ1, which just now departed KLAX and headed back to Auckland.
@RyDon85 Thanks RyDon, last minute change of runway require some high speed maneuvering on local street to catch her landing :-D

It's pity they haven't spelt "Zealand" correctly in the opening titles
Great eye, Maria!

Only one other person (maybe) besides me notice the messed up left wing? 6:04 trailing edge tip.
