- We've been working on our full Sonos Ace headphones review this week, and there's a lot to like about the first Sonos wireless headphones. They're a stunning piece of tech, plus the sound quality is superb. But there are also some trade-offs that might dissuade fans with Sonos smart home speaker systems from spending $449 on these cans. Here are the biggest reasons to buy and biggest reasons to skip.

Are you gonna Buy or Skip?! the brand new Sonos Ace? 🎧
I think I'll wait for Sony XM6s to drop, probably in August. These look great and might go on sale after couple months. Gotta wait and see
Skip.. Gonna buy the Sennheiser Momentum 4.
Independent Wifi headphones is pretty complex to achieve. The processing for the apps and streaming, needs to be handled on the headphones, rather than on other Sonos devices (Arc) or your phone and transmitted by bluetooth. It would drain the battery super quick.
The AirPods Max have 2 critical advantages IMO:
1. Replaceable batteries.
2. You can connect two of them to any Apple device (i.e. Apple TV)
Pre-ordered, wish the home soundbar to Ace was more universal.
I’ll be rocking these on my next flight
haven't flown with them yet. maybe next month!
Sonos fan here! If only these had home system hand-off
hi Kate can u tell me your sonos experience ?
Many misses in this review. Comparing ANC/Listening modes. Comfort level. Designs of the muffs/arms that go into the ear pieces. Key things people will be looking for.
Good review. Would you buy these over the AirPods Max?
is it good for movies ?
they look great, but the price is a major killer imo - gonna wait for the XM6s
Thanks for the video. I have a pair and I plan on keeping them unlike others I’ve tried. I also have a pair of Bose NC 700 which work fine but they’re not as good for music as the Sonos. The Sonos sound the best to me for ANC cans. Others disagree but headphones are like speakers. It’s what sounds best to you. I got from Sonos with the 15% discount which made them about $400 US which works for my budget compared to others that are more or less expensive. Rock on!
Sonos literally said in their press release that wifi mesh integration would effect battery life.
Do you think we should wait for Sony XM6s?
good q. what are you using regularly now? I might wait for both to be out to compare...
@@TomsGuideUSWhen would you estimate the XM6 to release?
more affordable compared with the apple ones so yeah maybe i will get them
As a user with a large Sonos investment, I also hoped for Wi-Fi integration. However, to be fair, there is a pair of Wi-Fi headphones on the market that allegedly sell for approximately US$2200, and have a battery life of between 6 to 8 hours. Neither of these parameters would ever have been acceptable to Sonos users - let alone those new to the platform, so this seems like an unreasonable expectation and an unfair criticism. The disastrous revised app rollout, however, is another issue entirely.
These are the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn, and the Arc swap feature works brilliantly.
As a Sonos user, these are a huge disappointment. I get the concern over battery life if these used wifi to integrate with an existing Sonos system, but you'd be at home. If they lasted "only" 4 hours in that case, and 30+ when on the road using Bluetooth, it would be a reasonable compromise, one that both the Move and Roam make. Combine this with the awful app update, cutting you off from your personal music library, and Sonos has entered the wtf zone.
"better than apple?" like apple would be the reference in the headphones department. lol
A Sonos product that doesn’t integrate with the Sonos ecosystem…. They’re just usual Bluetooth headphones. I’m a heavy Sonos user but will be sticking to the AirPod Max which seamlessly integrates with my ecosystem…. Phone calls, music, movies, auto switching between devices
So the tv swap feature doesn’t integrate into the system? Or were you looking for the whole WiFi thing they said would obliterate the battery, then you would complain about that.
No bass! No way I'm buying it
Where on earth did you get no bass from?
No, no they are not better than apple. I can not even get these damn things to stay connected to my computer, and they will not pair with the sonos App....GARBAGE... 450$ no way
Most headphones are better than Apple.
Agreed, apparently Apple is the only manufacturer of headphones.
@@fastattacktough688i6 😅🤨
Not really. I’ve tried Bose and Sony. Sound and connection are superior on Airpods Max.
