    One of your tips that’s helped me a ton on jerkbait fishing along with the 6lb INVIZX and spinning rod, is fishing with the wind…! Fishing with the wind has allowed me to catch so many more fish…. The casting with the wind is incredibly efficient and effective!!! That ranks up there with one of my favorite tips from your channel. Also your advanced fishing channel is awesome as well!

    Thanks Randy! I've had days where literally the faintest color change meant all the difference with a jerkbait. It's by far one of my hardbaits to throw year round if they're crushing a jerkbait it's hard for me to put it down. And when they line shoots up on the pause oh man it's so exciting

    I caught more fish on a jerkbait and buzzbait then all other techniques combined last year and a lot of your tips helped. Thanks Randy! It's a confidence bait that I always have tied on.

    Great tips.
    Years ago I was a 1 rod-1 line-1 jerk bait jerk.
    After comparing that with my other techniques, I changed and my catching improved.
    Your spinning rod and 6# line tip a few years ago was another game changer.
    Thanks for the videos.
    Tight lines and Godspeed

    Thanks for another great video Randy! I can see why catching a bass on a jerkbait can be so satisfying, because you are imparting all of the action of the bait. The same can be said about the topwater frog or walking bait and you get to see the hit!

    I feel an x-fast rod tip is ideal. Can get more erratic action without moving bait as far in cold water.

    What color is that megabass jerkbait if you don'tmind me asking please? I know that smallmouth do like that pink color. I have lightened my wallet and added these 110's to my tackle box from your suggestions and yes I got these from your previous connections. Thanks for these great tips Randy!!

    i made it a goal to get more in to hard baits this year. Watched your JB vids with a couple others and went out in March. Caught my PB Walleye and Buffalo, but they were one after another while everyone else got nothing. No bass that day, but I was catching fish and that's all that matters to me! I live in the Chicago area and its hard to find water that doesn't freeze over but you gave great advise on plan on trying to find more opportunities to get more JB bites!

    I switched my rod to a spinning setup and I keep throwing the jerk bait, but it just doesn’t produce for me. I have every color you could think of and have even dropped my line size down to 12 lb test (sorry….can’t do any less) and I’ve slowed my pace down. But after talking with several friends about jerk bait fishing, we all have the same opinion. The jerk bait for the most part is a boat only lure, and in our part of Kentucky does not appeal to the Bass. I know it sounds crazy, but nobody in my area does well with a jerkbait. I will still try to use it because Randy keep giving me more tips on how to get better 🎣

      You had better get down to 8 pound line.. My best on a jerk bait was 9pounds 5 oz. on a spinning rod with 8 pound line, and learn how to back reel !!! Good luck.

    Only thing I’d add to this video is that if some of you guys are struggling with cadence, put “Eye of the Tiger” on in those air pods and get to jerkin’! Perfect starting point lol!

    I need to get back to fishing jerkbaits more. My PB came on a jerkbait and I’ve probably caught as many big fish on one as anything. It’s also responsible for some of my biggest bags ever… and an awesome way to catch the big Alabama spots we have here. Big smallies here will kill a clown jerk in a surprising range of conditions for some reason too. For the past couple of seasons I’ve not had great conditions or found them other ways. I love it though. It’s definitely one of the more technical ways to catch them. Dang you got me ready Randy. I’m gonna go rework some hooks on some jerkbaits now. Lol

    Since livescope came out 6 years ago or 7 that’s my bait I have or are still mastering this I fish 12 months a year always finding the jerk bait bite it’s my number one lure also a small jig but I have 7 different jerk baits tied on always shallow deep small profile big profile wide dart action head down action I’m always finding a jerk bait bite hardly ever do I have to totally fish another bait all day cause it works or at least fish come to see it then I see them and see we’re they go and then catch them it goes with livescope tremendous but now after so long I don’t need the scope because I can play the scenarios out in my head but yes I’m a scoper but I don’t drop on them I use jerk baits mostly 100% mega bass brands some are weighted to go 25 feet deep and deeper thank for info awesome

    I’d be interested if you had any specific tips on what colors to use for the water color your on…. For example “I know how when to use a green color with a pearl white belly because I’m on warmer kind of see threw light brown water” a color vs. water type of thing… I’m usually on the river with a light brown color (see threw) or I’m on a lake that is more of a deep blue grey color. I learned that whatever bait you are using has to match the color of the water….. I think at least. I’d also be interested in maybe a video of you actually showing the technique you actually use using a jerk bait. Thanks for the tip on when. I did learn something from your video though…. The colder the water the slower you have to work the bait…. The faster the water…. The faster you have to use the bait…. Thanks a lot for that tip man!!!!! I’m gonna remember that!!!! Thanks man!!!!!!

    Hey Randy, what’s a budget jerkbait rod you would recommend? I currently use a 13 fishing black 7-6 medium and I lose a decent amount of hooked fish on it since its taper is a bit stiff. Is there any good spinning rod for less than $150 that you would recommend for jerkbaits?

    If you have a good jerkbait bite, but you're only catching short fish, what's your next move?
    I was on a solid bite with a jerkbait the other day, caught over 50, but only 2 fish over 15". I know the area holds big fish, and I graphed a lot of bigger fish on the same points I was catching the small fish off of. I just couldn't figure out how to get them to commit.

    If you want to spend the money for a megabass bait fine. But several others out there. Just go out and practice using the basic colors . Start with the 110's it is not as difficult as presented and a bfs bait caster with a medium action rod will work just as well if not better than a spinning rod. Just go out and stick with it and don't lay your rod down in a hour or so, it is NOT that tough.

    You need to get out more. Watching your channel is like watching livescope. It’s the same boring screen over and over and over … you blabbering away in a mud room … no different than the blips on a livescope screen. Instruction was never meant to be lecture only. Take the hint your viewers gave you a few episodes ago and show us what you’re talking about. Commit to some percentage of on the water instruction and stick with it.

    • @randyblaukatintuitive
      @randyblaukatintuitive  Рік тому +3

      There are plenty of other channels out there if you need to be entertained by watching people catch fish. This is a hard-core instructional channel.

    • @mistertwister1816
      @mistertwister1816 Рік тому +2

      @randyblaukatintuitive. We don’t care if you catch fish. Your videos have become as boring and sterile as a livescope screen. Don’t shoot the messenger, but at least the livescopers are on the water and not in a tired old depressing negative mud room. We want to watch you work the baits. We want to see how much your rod bends when you jerk. We want to see how much slack is in your line at the start of a jerk. We want to watch cadence. We want to see where your rod top ends up. We want to see how far you cast, how much your fluoro coils, how long you pause, the angle of your cast relative to the boat and boat speed. We’d like to see the gamut of baits worked, too, and how you might work each differently. These are things you can only see on the water.

    • @mistertwister1816

      @randyblaukatintuitive. Do yourself a favor. Go back and watch Matt Steffens recent jerk bait video on the water. Most importantly, read the comments from his viewers. When doing so you’ll know that several we’re quite surprised at how he was working the bait. It was something to watch and not listen to someone talk about.
