Congrats on the little fisherman lol..Waiting for my hoodoo 100. Already designed a 6ft outrigger and purchased and aluminum side fitted transom mount, for my already waiting 2.5 suzuki outboard. I only weigh 149lbs, she should get me to my back country, flats, and mangroves with no problems. Was gonna go with many other boats, but this hoodoo for the money, and all it comes with, is all I need..God bless.
First I would like to thank you for the hoodoo review I have been seeing their yaks but little to no info. If you can please do a review on the stingray 130s that is the one I’m most interested in
Is that a demo color because it doesn't look like any of the colors on the order sheet probably stop by yur shop soon I totally dig the marine reef color
Does this kayak come with the rod holder from factory or from your shop? And also do you know when they were supposed to be beefing up the drive system? Hope all is well
If the bicycle pedal type isn't available anymore, how are yiy supposed to reverse the kayak. I really like the Impulse bit I can't find one with a propeller.
Well Im super impressed with my tempest 120 pdl I have already started up grades to mine. I wanted the pulse but the hoodoo site said not available for delivery till mid February either way suburb price of the kayak. Only down side to my tempest is the storage hole in the center behind the seat so I’m modifying a grate to work out and still use the storage hole. And I got the purple haze freaking awesome color.
The tempest is a great boat for sure. I was surprised how well that boat handled on the water. Rudder for me was the only downside but there maybe an upgrade soon.
I'm looking at the Kayak on their site and looks like the rudder system is different. It's underneath the boat, not beaver style. How will that work when you drag the boat to put in the water ? I'd prefer beaver style
Really appreciate the review! You mentioned that the drive cables aren’t the same gauge as the Hobie ones - would that prevent you from taking it out for offshore fishing? Also, is the height of the seat in the lowest position about the same as the Hobie outback in the lowest position? I want something for offshore fishing but can’t swing the price of the Hobie outback.
Thanks for the comments. I spoke with the designer of the boat and drive and they are working to beef up the drive components. I would take the Impulse offshore with Hobie drive but would like to spend more time testing this Hoodoo drive to feel a little more comfortable. The lowest position of the seat would similar to the low to mid level of the Hobie Outback. I think this boat could be some solid competition to the Hobie Compass.
Does the boat sit low in the water? A few parts of the video shows water coming over the side a lot . Are the sides lower then Normal? Looks a little choppy but it looks like it sits low or sides are not very high.
The boat sits about the same as most other kayak brands/models. The 10 was slightly lower to the water line but the water was choppier then it appeared on video. One thing that I like a lot about it was that there was very little spray coming off the bow.
Nice job, Mike.......what's the difference between the prop drive versus the fins? I am looking seriously at Hoodoo Impulse and Tempest kayaks and am a freshwater fisherman (primarily) , but want to get involved in saltwater fishing. I live in the Houston, TX area. Thanks! Kent George
@@FoolisH409 couldnt decide, so I decided to keep my cruising kayak (converted to fishing) for another year and I bought a full size M1911 pistol.....🤔
I've been trying to find more on the 105. Do you (or anyone in the comments) have experience with it? I am torn on getting the 105 or 120. This will be my first kayak and to be honest, I have never fished from a kayak before. Anyone have a preference on if it's easier to start out on a 10ft or 12ft? Thanks in advance!
Can you remove the lid from the forward storage my little dog likes to go with me and I am having a really hard time finding a peddle kayak that has enough room so I am not kicking him - RIght now I am using a perception outlaw that I paddle but of course the increased range of peddle power is very attractive
Was wondering the same. Appears that you would be able to remove the cover though. What did you end up doing? I have two five pound chihuahuas that I would like to o take with me.
@@colleenconrade3156 I Ended up going with the Hobie Passport and removing the Bungie in the front and installing from Eva so he don't slide around ua-cam.com/video/41bjqNd1IY4/v-deo.html
Great kayak info and video Mike! And congratulations on the new born, Fisher Mario! All awesome news!
Right on! Congrats with the Baby Boy! Great looking yak and those Woodie Corks are badass! AM Lures 🔥🤙🏻
Congratulations!!
That's a killer little kayak launch. Great vid and review. I've got a I120 as well.
Congratulations von your new baby!
Thanks man! I’ve been looking for a good honest review for these. Planning on getting the 12’ in February or early March!
Anything to say about the kayak I’m looking at getting one but it sure yet
Nice review there bro. Pedal drive kayak's my next level kayak for sure.
congrats man. and thank you.
it's so perfect I think seniors I like it I always wanted to have one like this
This will be my first kayak!
Hey Bro .. Nice to see you do a take on the Impulse .. I have the Tempest 120p .. Been enjoying it when fishing the Lighthouse lakes area
I may have to get an Impulse also

Bring on that Impulse 135!
Would love to see it with the propeller drive and a comparison I ordered the propeller but absolutely nothing on this kayak with that style drive
Awesome review. My question is. Would the hobie turbo fins work on this drive? Or would I have to go with the whole hobie drive?
Excellent review of the Hoodoo Impulse. Does the Fin Drive have reverse like the Hobie Mirage? Thanks!
Thanks for the video, do they come with an option of propeller or fin drive - didn’t see fin drive option on promotion I was reviewing
I believe you did a review of the impulse 135. If you had the choice between the two. Which one do you believe is more stable?
Is that a demo color because it doesn't look like any of the colors on the order sheet probably stop by yur shop soon I totally dig the marine reef color
Does this kayak come with the rod holder from factory or from your shop? And also do you know when they were supposed to be beefing up the drive system? Hope all is well
How’s the turn radius on the rudder? I saw that the tempest had a rather poor radius. Wondering if that was fixed on the impulse?
Would you purchase again or mayb go with the lighting or something else in same price range??
Do you have a review on the 105 impulse?
Also would you recommend the fin or propeller drive? I have the tempest 120 propeller drive right now
Put together a video on the building up of the Kayak just got my impulse home tonight but no instruction on the pedal drive or the rudder set up?
Do you guys have these available at your stores in cc or rgv?
How does this compare to the brooklyn BKC PK13 Angler 13 at $1400
Does this one have a way to steer? Or do you have to use your paddle? Or maybe I missed that part of the video?
What would be better option? Fin drive or prop? I ordered the 120 with the fin but rethinking about the prop? This is my first kayak
Which would you prefer? The Tempest 120 with propeller or the impulse 120 with fin?
When you push one pedal forward do the fins lay flat against the bottom of the hull like a Hobie does?
What brand was the blue fishing rod you had?
Was thinking about getting this, how has this held up since you've got it?
If the bicycle pedal type isn't available anymore, how are yiy supposed to reverse the kayak. I really like the Impulse bit I can't find one with a propeller.
Is there a cover plate where the drive goes if you don’t want to use the drive at times?
Do these have the break away fin technology? Because I use my kayak for artifact hunting on the rivers in alabama and get in some pretty sketchy areas
15:00 I wonder if it's close enough to modify with a 180 drive conversion kit?
Is there a transducer mount under the kayak?
How is the kayak holding up? Have you had any issues with it?

It is a little worry some but I’m not going to let it slow me down bagging bass or crappie!!!
Would you trust this 2 to 5 Miles out on the ocean? Did you get a lot of spray off the front?
Pretty Nice Kayak
Might be my new kayak looks sick bro.... Gonna start fishing on my channel, let's get r done...
What do you like better fin drive or pedal drive
Can you do a little longer review on the impulse 105. Especially the hull shape and available standing area
WIll do. Be on the Lookout
@@FinFactoryCaptMike will the 105 review be coming? Does it have a transducer plate underneath as well?
@@Ese.B yes it has the transducer plates.
Nice kayak
Sweet.
Just wanted to get your opinion Vanhunk mahi-mahi that is the one I ordered
How is the drive holding up???
Likes!
So my 2 i cannot pick over . Is this and the shear water. Can you use hobie drives in this like you can in the vibe shearwater ?
Probably too late, but yes. You can indeed use a hobie drive in the impulse 120
