Hey bro, just an update on my Hoodoo Tempest Hybird. I ended up just fun fishing this summer. And getting used to my Blue lagoon. I ended up purchasing a bixpy J2 Rudder mount. I purchased the vibe gravity rudder kit, with a 2nd bixpy battery. fish 2 large lakes, one is 4600 acres, the other is about 6,000 acres. Mounted my landing gear, FF, Cabela's 12v battery with a USB/VM/CIGG Plug in, for charging my electronics in a 30 cal ammo box. I was going to design a 10ft single pontoon and run the 2.5 Suzuki on the island hopper outboards fitted side transom, like KEY WEST KAYAK FUSHING. But I weigh 151lbs, 5ft 7 1/2" Anyway loving this kayak, and no need to upgrade. Definitely recommend that bixpy, if you freshwater fish. I also realized with all my accessories and add-on's, the tempest hull is almost identical to the Vibe seaghost and shearwater. Be safe..🙏🤟🎣

Hey bro awsome review! Mine is arriving Tuesday. I have probably $1,000 dollars in accessories waiting to be put on her. I love this kayak. Not to mention, everything that comes with it. Most company's give you just the boat, bare bones. I also had already purchased my Suzuki 2.5 hp outboard, and the Railblaza, side mt transom. My 1st kayak, finally off the bank and can explore lots of water. Be safe bro..🎣🙏🤟

@@BASSnBEER yeah bro, this is my 1st kayak and like I said, now the have skiffs, the impulse is an amazing kayak too. I actual wanted the jonny bass boat 100. Because of the 2.5 suzuki I purchased. But no storage, and comes with nothing. Plus it was 99.00 shipping, and then a 300.00 freight charge. All these companies don't tell you about the freight charge until you order it. When I contacted HOODOO, Chris said they waive that charge. They are becoming very popular, haven't reallly seen 1 bad review yet..I'm also gonna raise my seat a little. The impulse seat has 3 adjustable settings, and sits on rails. Well lots of options. I also purchased blue BMX Pedals..lol..be safe bro. 🙏👍🎣

They have small latches that keep the drive locked into place, I always kept the front latch open, that way if I hit something it would give instead of breaking something.....also when I would float and run through different sections of shoals I would just pull the drive up....I also always kept an extra prop incase I broke that one....

I've been kayak shopping lately. I decided to go with Hoodoo. I looked at a Lost Creek pedal drive kayak at Sportsmans Warehouse the other day. They had a display model out. The pedal drive gears were really loud and felt SUPER GRINDEY. Turns out (according to a review I saw) Lost Creek uses plastic gears in the drive mechanism and they wear out super fast. Hoodoo uses metal gears. Cant wait for my Hoodoo 120p to arrive!

Stability isn't great but not horrible, I can stand when I need to, Its not lile my Bonafide, the HooDoo I still gotta balance sort of, but I just ordered the upgraded rudder and they installed it for me, also the 3d printed seat risers from 3DYAK on facebook is a must have, made a huge difference with comfort plus made pedaling easier as well!

I've got several questions and a couple comments...
    Q's:
Did you try the kayak before loading all that stuff on it?
Do you weigh more than 230 Lbs (Half the weight capacity of the yak)
Did you try it without scupper plugs.
Did you check your top speed with an actual GPS.
    Comments:
I weigh 230 Lbs & tried mine without scupper plugs and had 1/4" of water on the deck while peddling. It drained when I stopped.
So... the 450 Lb weight capacity is BS!
Unlike other kayaks like the WS Ride this kayaks scupper bottoms don't have a trailing recess on the bottom to create a venturi (vacuum) so the water doesn't come up the scuppers.
My top speed without pushing it was 4.5 mph.
I have a tail rudder and it has a terrible turning radius because they made the mount too close to the cable inserts you get about 1/4 turn. I like my rudder too go almost flat on both sides.
Thanks for your overview... I'm going to do one too but not till I've used it a few times.

7mph winds and 2 foot waves this thing kept on track. I did get wet and the front hatch does not seal well. Grass is its kryptonite of course. Plastic is very soft on the tempest get keel guards. Pedal drive is great paint is not already chipping off. Had it 2 weeks. I have a rudder mod for bottom rudder check it out.ua-cam.com/video/8QKowajCyK4/v-deo.html
