It's a bad thing that you tip when it s not expected. You'll ruin the local habits and finally everything gets more expensive for the locals. This gentrification is a real problem.
Locals tip in Colombia.
Great video. You showcase so much maturity and empathy in your views, thank you for sharing these tips.
Ryan I’m a Venezuelan and also an American citizen, I’m traveling soon to Colombia for the first time and I think your video (from all I’ve watched about this subject) is very useful and talks about very important things to be aware like the “drug users stereotype”, thank you so much for also mentioning the situation of Venezuelan refugees, as you clarified most of these people is people that didn’t choose to leave their country to live a life on the streets begging for money, most of those people do this because they HAD NO CHOICE. Thanks to your video I have a better idea of what to expect. I’m subscribing to your channel. Great content!
Thanks for the love and reflections. They mean a lot. Sending love back your way. Welcome to the channel and community as well.
Hi! I am planning to visit Venezuela in 2 months. Any tips or recommendations?
Really nice of you to include extra tips for female travelers!
Hey! Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. I'm currently taking a break from producing videos to take an inward creative dive!
Thanks for that feedback. I'm trying to reflect on good advice for as many as possible ❤️
Love this video!! It has all the useful tips you need from a real perspective. Thanks for talking about the women topics. People really need to be more respectful when they travel to a new place. Sending tons of love Ryan. Best wishes.
Yooo! 😊 Thanks for the feedback, especially from a Medellín local. It's important that people know about the women situations and issues. Much love Lei, miss the adventures!
You already know the way back 🙃
@@leinieves 😁Use that US visa that you got left! 👀
@@RyanFila hahaha will think about it
@@leinieves 😂 Don’t lie to me!
Ryan, you're a legend and the reason I just decided to book flights to Colombia next week (randomly, last minute flights to Bogota seem to be really cheap).
Wow, i came across your channel while researching my vacay in Colombia in april. Watch quite some vids and really liked them so i subbed. Only after watching more, i just now see the
Yooo! Thanks for the hype and energy. I'm trying to make quality stuff and see where it goes 🙌 Playing the long game ♟ I hope you enjoy Colombia as well, it's such an incredible place!!
How was your trip
@@HomeboyHotel It was great. Spend 2 weeks which was too short in hindsight.
Loved Salento, chilled in Palamino and did Bogota and Med.
Buenísimo!!! #11 is a most do! 😁 unfortunately the last thing you mentioned is sooooo common, and annoying
Hope you get sponsors soon. You have a lot of charisma and will be an authority on travel when your channel grows, you’ve got a great foundation with the few videos I’ve watched. That said, my wife and I are looking at Columbia this December but US travel advisory is listing Columbia as a Level 3 with Arauca, Cauca (except Popayán), and Norte de Santander Level 4. Your Columbia videos seem to dispel these travel advisory levels, or has the situation there changed since you uploaded your videos? Thank you for you content - Subscribed.
Wow, thank you for that! I sure hope some sponsors and growth come rolling through soon 😃 I would say for youre traveling that you'd more than likely be okay. I don't know of any major changes since I was there, and I'm not super familiar with those regions, but overall the advisories are typically over protective (for understandable reasons) but if you're aware and stay smart I'd presume you'd be all good! Do you speak spanish? If so, that's a huge bonus. Or knowing someone on the ground.
Those areas that you mention are remote and not very popular among to tourists…you are very welcome to Colombia 🇨🇴…by following these tips you should be ok.
3 whole months!! Wow!!
I was in Bogota for two weeks and I didn't see or smell a single drug. Going back in August. It was amazing
Going to Bogota in a week, how was the weather? Asking caz we have some Caribbean travelers with us. Would it be cold for them? They are used to 80-90°F weather.
@khia1408ify I'm going in a week too. I was told it's kind of chilly
Awesome tips bro... I'll be heading to colombia soon.. Travelling from australia to Bogotá... Can't wait... Will definitely be checking out some of your tips 👍👌
Great video man! Makes me want to travel to Colombia.
You should! It's awesome out there!
Solo backpacking in January! Can’t wait to see this beautiful country
Love it! Such a beautiful place. I hope your trip is incredible.
I wanna go to Columbia now!!! I especially wanna learn to salsa!
Haha that makes 2 of us! I want to go back and take 30 days to dance every single day!
@@RyanFila could be a cool progression video lol.. "30 days straight learning to dance in Colombia"
Please dont say Columbia, It's Colombia. The colombians don't like it when you say Columbia
Hey Ryan what’s the best about getting cash if one plan on staying there for an extended period of time
method 2 _ran into this issue in the power shell-- You must be an administrator running a console session in order to

I am from Colombia and find your tips very useful.
I will add one important, when you go to bars be attentive of your drink, it is been around that some bad people (there are in many cities in the world) that can add drugs in there.
As you have experienced visit my country it could be a great experience…I appreciate you share your thoughts.
Welcome to 🇨🇴 Colombia.
Thanks for the love and the additional comment. I look forward to coming back down there again. I miss a lot about Colombia.
THANK YOU RAYAN!!! I love the way you explain all the situations and all the solutions!!!! ❤
“Triangle thing on the sidewalk”= sandwich board. Solid tips brother, much appreciated.
When taking a taxi. negociate the fare in advance if there is no meter but a decent video and make sure the meter is set to zero
Love the video. Very well explained. Was in Medellin last year and enjoyed every minute of it. We didn’t care much for the Pablo Escobar situation or tours even though it was a part of their history (they are trying to recover from that insanity still). Indeed the Colombian people are welcoming. Going back soon but to Bogota 😌.
Thanks for the comment and love. I'm glad you enjoyed it there. Such a special place. I hope your trip to Bogotá is filling as well.
So much valuable info! 🙌🏻🔥
Thank you!! 🙌 ❤️
Thank you for your considerations towards female travellers and what to expect! Great tips
You're welcome! 😊
Thanks for the love!
they have those in Cali, be streetwise
Great vid. Question for you what did you do for cell phone service? Did you get a local sim?
Hey Sorry for the delay! Yeah I ended up using Claro who is amazing!
Stay safe god bless
❤️ Thank you!!
Hey bro . Go document the FREEDOM CONVOY Canada . It is a historic event and will gain you much needed exposure. Best of luck
Hey, I appreciate the idea. I won't be out there though.
Hey what buses companies would you recommend? Thanks for a great video
I don't really have any to recommend. I used quite a few, but it depended on the region. I remember Brasilia being good though!
Great video
Thanks 👌🏽
Hey Ryan (great name by the way) this is a great vid bud, really helping me plan my trip to Colombia!
Haha the best name! 😉 Thanks for the message. I'm glad to hear it's helping you game plan. I have a handful of videos like this on Colombia that may help you out!
I live in Medellin half the year - this kid is pretty much on point
thanks for the insight and reflections! It feels good to have it affirmed by people who live there.
Wanna do taxi there🆙️
Great video.. Gracias!
Good video thank you!
Colombia is cheapper
Do places accept American cash?
It depends where. The majority of places Colombian cash, but there will be places along the way that will take US cash.
Do tourists get kidnapped? 😮
Thanks big dawg 🖤
You're welcome!
After 4 weeks of holiday in Bello, Envigado, el Poblado, Medellin, I got out of Colombia. What place not all but many people are out to find ways to scam you out of as many pesos as possible. Tried the airbnb in 3 different locations one infested with cockroach the other was threaten by the host son in the next apt for complaining about the music at 3am 5-6 nights a week and the last was a total scam listed an address for a decent location apt. but was brought to a completely different address at the time of checking in. Not to mention being ripoff by almost all the taxi drivers and short changed by many vendors. Sept. 12, 2023 to mid Oct. 2023.
Where was the scam air bnb located in Medellin
The unit that was advertise in Envigado by the center where the church is, the unit I was brought to was on a 4 lane street with a divider between Envigado and Medellin@@MrElwoodBluez
that's your final advice about Colombians??? woman are over sexualized ??? hahaha
Not the only, but it's true. Women should know.
There are not over sexualized. It's just the Latin culture that a gringo doesn't understand.
I saw a lot of people doing coke, and I wasn't looking for it
hmmm I wonder where you were 🤔 I didn't see that at all in my 3 months in Colombia.
@@RyanFila for example some people who said they worked for the municipality in some town invited me to drink tequila then later started doing lines. I stayed in a local hostal for a while mostly Colombians and Venezuelans and coke was pretty common, not with every body of course. And just friends or their friends. Saw some people do tusi, homeless people doing basuco in the street. Did you notice those small zip lock bags in the streets? Those are from drugs
Not most people, but colombia seemed to have a pretty lively drug scene
Yo babble way too much, and offer little to no help.
