Flawless!! Frank adored her and had her on two of his specials. She speaks of him fondly in her memoirs. Streisand said that Diahann is a "singing actress." Not an easy song, but Carroll nails it!
For me, she has always been the most beautiful woman I could imagine. I have had the thrill of seeing her many times and she is beyond exquisite. A few years ago she appeared at the Colony Room in Palm Beach and after opening with Come Rain or Come Shine...I more than got my money's worth. A glorious talent.
I love this song it is so bueatiful and so is she.I can really feel all the emotions going through her with this song.To me this is has to be the best song sung by her ♡♥♡♥
Thanks to my friend Susan for sending me here! I saw Ms. BS sing this live 2x on B'way in the original run. It was lovely then, and equally lovely here by Ms. Carroll! One lady from Brooklyn, the other from The Bronx! I love 'em both, and more many thanks to MavisDanton for this incredible upload!
***** Not that it's "owned," by her, but Streisand did introduce it to the world--at 21-- and that always counts for a lot. Just as Diahann's version of "The Sweetest Sounds" was hers to introduce.

A perfect example of how to sing and interpret a song. Nobody does it better than this.
I wonder why she wasn't more famous...a great singer and actress
She is so beautiful
I thought she was always underrated; an "American" Shirley Bassey if you will.
An all-around great talent and beautiful too.
She is a great singer. She is also a very good actress .
Just wow!
Great rendition. Would seem like a tough song to sing, but her phrasing and rubatos (stretching) are so good

Simply divine
Oh, my god...
good girl
In its own sweet way, as beautiful as Streisand's take on it.
Terrific rendition of a great song, supposedly
"owned" by Streisand.
It is owned, bought and paid for as Ms. Streisand's....much as I am the biggest Diahann Carroll fan on this planet.

why do people turn everything into a competition? Can each person's version no be enjoyed for itself..?
