That was a brief enjoyable one. I love how Damacus has preserved more of a traditional flair than Beirut. Yes shawarma Damascus style is something. As you’ve seen in Lebanon we don’t add pomegranate molasses. And the spices of the meat itself might be different as well. Will you be visiting another safe to visit city of Syria? Lattaqia maybe on the coast?

I remember an old UA-cam video that had a Catholic Cardinal living in Syria. The Cardinal said Syria had a better quality of life than Italy. . Haven't been able to find that video for about 10 years now. Travelers used to call Syria the Alternative Egypt before the war and It had lots of tourists.

Thank you for the upload! I'm not syrian, I'm of Iraqi origin but I visited Damascus once with my family along time ago before the war and I loved it, despite being scammed lol! I don't eat chicken but will only break that rule if its authentic syrian shawarma. The best chicken shawarma in my opinion. Good to see that the city still hasn't changed or damaged by the war.

I am lebanese married to Syrian lady. Chicken Shawarma in Lebanon and Syria they all taste the same. Meat shawarma completely different in Syria from Lebanon. And Syria, you don’t need any condiments added to it. They use real lamb Shawarma not beef. The best meat Shawarma I ever had in my life was in Syria. المطعم الصحي Al Mataam Al Sohhee I have eaten Shawarma in 10 countries and this restaurant just got the perfect 10 over 10 for its meat Shawarma.

I'm sure any money offered will be welcome especially when things are tough in a bad economy. For tour guides in western countries tip is a must especially when pay is minimal and not enough to survive on and usually people are aware of that and they tip generously.
