Today I did 217 km/h (on gps) in my 1980 sc with 375.000km on it. There was still an extra 10-15km/h left I think.

Consider having to rebuild one. I got my 1983 TARGA SC , drove it 15 years and parked in under cover. Waiting to overhual the motor. That includes all timing and valves. These are air cooled and overheating can cause damage. Plus you can improve the emissions and gain horsepower and top end speeds. I was passed one day by a C4 Porsche and admired the stability. The driver had a serious grip on the wheel. I guess the point being that there are no limits. Like 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. How far do you want to go is the only question to ask. I hope you get the pleasure of owning 0ne. PEACE

I used to own and trade used sportcars and the whole 911 production from late 60es to late 80. The 204hp was for sure amongst my best loved 911 along with the Carrera 3.0 and the wild 2400/S.
Yes,after market steering boxes were available in the 80es and possibly still available today.
If you were looking for more responsiveness with lesser lock to lock turns you could trade your stock one and have an upgraded one mounted with reasobable money.Conversely the steering wheel got a bit heavier,in everyday traffic it wasn't really so pleasant: those were basically upgrades for racing purpose and honestly I wouldn't do it today on a full original classic SC as the one in the video.Either way I felt comfortable with the stock steering of the SC:instead hated the pedals layout and got aluminium racing pedals.Hat off in front of the 911 project !
