    You're not lying, there. That's a mean mowing son of a buck! I love to hear these big twin engines just beller like a damn dragster, while it's throwing grass about 10 to 15 feet away from it. Sounds good!

    Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout! That thing plows right on through that thick wet grass. Looks great doin' it too.

    Love the mower man nothing lime a hustler I do like the SCAG and Ferris also but the hustler has the turning and in my opinion they cut great if they could do a mower that has hustlers turning, scags cutting, and ferris suspicion it would be one heck of a machine bit I have owened a lot of mowers and I wouldn't own anything else other then a hustler bit everyone has there opinion on lowers and how there perform thanks for the video thinking about upgrading to a commercial of I do decide to mow commercial any idea which hustler is better as far as commercial cutting

      +Gregory Winfree Thanks. There were many times I wouldnt of wanted to be on a different machine. But many many times when I wanted to burn it to the ground! A love v hate relationship! lol

      +C Winfree Yard Care Well that is why Hustler is considered pro level equipment. Those blades are doing about 18,000 rpm, and that is the difference between this machine and a box store riding lawn mower with a 42" deck and blades turning less than 5,000 rpm.

    Tough question. I like the machine itself but Ive had problems with the deck clumping in longer/thicker damp grass. Ive had to modify the deck by cutting out a piece at the rear of the discharge chute and add a "turbo baffle." Grass builds up on the rear of the chute then drops to the ground leaving a clump and or windrow. That has been super frustrating and maybe enough to say no, I wouldnt buy again. But I love the hydros and the the ride so, tough question.

    How come you quit going in a circle and started discharging to the outside? It actually looked great until you did that?

    I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.

    I am thinking about getting a zero turn mower. I have 10 customers and I probably can get 15 more...do these mowers cut well, meaning do they leave clumps of grass? Right now I use a self propelled push mower and I bag it. Sorry for the long paragraph.

    • @mickhippy
      @mickhippy  10 років тому

      Depends on the lawn, conditions etc. Watch my other vids. Best advice I can give is demo REALLY well in different conditions and see if it works for you.

    • @mickhippy
      @mickhippy  10 років тому

      The front forks on this are called Flex Forks. They are Hustler only I believe. A few mower brands have their own version. If you want comfort, look at Ferris or Scag Cheetah.

    • @ak666phl3
      @ak666phl3 10 років тому

      No comfort needed but these flex forks really allow you to go fast man. Anyway thanks for the tip. I also have a ferris but it's on it's way out. About 950hrs on it. If I get another mower it will be the hustler for sure.

    Haha...my Husqvarna 54 inch cut with the Kawasaki FR 730 24 HP would be crawling in that grass! I have 3 acres of grass like that and I can't let it go for more than two weeks. But for the price and what it is the little Husky does ok but it has to work it's ass off. That Super Z would cut my mowing time by over an hour..probably more.

    Hey Mick what's the best way to change the hydro oil & filter???

    • @mickhippy9942
      @mickhippy9942 10 років тому

      Drive the casters up on to car ramps, jack up rear end and place on stands making the machine as level as you can. Get yourself a large tray, big enough to hold the amount of oil. I learnt the hard way, with panic finding another tray. I think its around 10lt. (or you could pump the oil out of the tank), Remove filter from underneath which will drain the oil. I dont remember if theres a drain plug, if there is, use it first.
      Replace filter, fill with oil. Start machine with it still on the stands. Slowly push levers forward then backward for a few mins to get any air out of the system. Check oil level and that should be it.
      Its really quite easy but be sure you have a large enough or back up trays on hand before you start. The plastic "nut" thing on the filter can round off so just be aware of that. If you have a 6 sided (impact) socket, maybe use that as your average socket wont get much hold on the plastic.

    Thanks

    • @mickhippy
      @mickhippy  9 років тому

      Shane Yadon Thats a very good question Shane and the point to many of these vids! Deck design is the answer!

    • @grasscutter88
      @grasscutter88 9 років тому

      +Shane Yadon Looks ok to me. That stuff is like 4 inches tall and wet. You can't go back and forth like that and not expect to have grass laying on the ground. I mowed a yard with my gravely and had to mow some areas twice to chop up any extra grass laying on the yard. That was a good 5in of grass though, but it was dry.

    • @grasscutter88
      @grasscutter88 9 років тому

      +grasscutter88 Nevermind I take that back. After watching more of the video. Should look that crappy.

      +grasscutter88 Shouldn't sorry.

    • @mickhippy
      @mickhippy  9 років тому

      +grasscutter88 I wasnt new to mowing when this vid was made in fact, this vid wasnt about the deck, just a mowing vid! More about showing off how well it cut really thick, heavy wet grass. I thought it actually did pretty good in this vid all thngs considered. It was saturated!
      It was after things dried up, grass was on the regular cycle that the deck showd its true colours. If youve seen the other vids you'll knw what im on about. I wasnt making it up.
      Thanks for watching!

      Southern Side Lawncare Do you have a full suspension seat? If not, get one of those first, the newer type. If you have the seat then the FF's will make an even bigger difference. I would certainly recommend them for sure but, get the seat first!

      Southern Side Lawncare Its the price you gotta pay dude! Trust me, in the long run, its worth it! Mowing rough ground can really damage your back so do anything you can to help. Buy the seat first, its only a couple hundred more. The seat is a necessity, the forks are a luxury! You'll thank me for it!
