Hey! I've had a leopard gecko for 2 years and recently got one that my girlfriend bought me. They are wonderful pets and I love mine to bits. I have my male Loki and my female Frejya. Both are currently separated as Frejya is young. About 6 months old I believe. A suggestion to those who want a leopard gecko: They do in fact eat insects but always research before buying. Crickets are known to carry more parasites than any other feeder insects. I currently feed mine mealies, dubias, and occasional waxworms. They love it. Dubias can cause growth spurts in leos too. My male already grew an inch. 9 inches and a bit heavy now! This is a great video and y'all should watch it to know the pros and cons. Actually Juvenile leopards geckos don’t get fed everyday baby’s feed gets fed everyday juveniles get fed every other day while adult you feed them and then you wait maybe like three days and then you feed them again
Every time I see a video saying how quiet leopard geckos are I think of the one at my work that is so vocal. He makes tons of different sounds and you can pretty well tell his mood from his sounds (as well as body language, but he makes very specific sounds for different moods). I literally want him SPECIFICALLY for how vocal he is because it's so cute.
It all depends on personality and whether they are tamed or not. I own 2 leopard geckos, and one is completely fine with me. Curls up in my hair and sleeps. The other tries to run from me and freaks out, but lets me hold her for maybe 10 seconds before leaving. (Still trying to tame her). It really all depends.
Every gecko I’ve had has been chill their whole life. Also it depends how you pick them up, if you grab them completely they’re gonna freak out. I either scoop mine up or if it’s an adult I slightly pinch it by the belly
I just picked up a juvenile from a pet store today but he is kind defensive and gets tense when i put my hand in his tank but he is eating just fine. is it hard to tame them though?
jonah molina Hi! I wish! haha! There is maybe a 5% chance that once you get a leopard gecko it will be tamed and that is only if the leo you get is from a breeder or a friend that has already tamed them. If you adopt 99.9% of the time they aren't tame, especially if from a pet store. Also even if they were tame they still need to adjust to you, their new owner! So I hope I answered your question! Thanks for watching, and commenting. it means a lot. Also, I have many more leopard gecko videos on taming. Look around the channel and you'll find some :)
Great video! Iv'e owned a leopard gecko for about 3 1/2 years now and it has been amazing. They are truly wonderful pets for anyone who is planning on getting one
I've had my Zeus boy for over 10 years now. He's still going strong! I lost my baby Athena 2 years ago, she was over 8. I miss her so much :( Leopard Geckos are such sweethearts.
i own a bearded dragon right now and im thinking of trying a gecko out after my beardie... are they very different from bearded dragons or are they kind of the same... bearded dragons eat mealworms too so i have no problem with bugs.... does the temperature need to be hot or cold? what do u use for flooring in their cage? and do they like green looking cages or desert-like cages? this video taught me alot about them thank you :)
I'm getting a gecko soon and after lots of research I've discovered that yes they are similar to bearded dragons. Except they prefer there heat to come from under the tank (undertank heating pads instead of heating lamp domes) and they're nocturnal while bearded dragons are diurnal. Also, the temperature of the heating pad needs to be 75-90, definitely not 100+, that's too hot for geckos. Most importantly DO NOT use sand for the substrate. You can use a paper towel for baby geckos and juveniles but for adults I recommend some reptile carpet.
I have a gecko and basically sorta the same as what the person above said. also if you have a cat...I wouldn't get a gecko, my cat attacked it and nearly killed it so..
+Niamh's i do have a cat but he loved the beardie i had and he would stand by the class and theyd communicate with eachother.... my beardie got sick and passed away a few weeks ago.... like 2 days after this comment actually
Hi Nick! Happy Monday!! Thanks for tuning in to ProfessionalPets!! To answer your question, give them as much time as they need to adjust. Don't handle them until they have been in the new habitat for at least 5 days. That's even pushing it. A week is best. This way you get to learn the temperament of your new pet so that you can figure out a taming strategy unique to him or her. Have an awesome week!
***** Leopard Geckos have been one of my favourite animals / pets since I was five years old. I'm now 16 and my interest in them has been revived for some reason. Just want to know if an animal like this would be comfortable in a teen's room kept at around 15 - 20C, and what you mean by 'Pay as you go' when referring to feeding them. Cheers from England!
Hello I recently bought a leopard gecko and today he seems to be wiggling his tail slowly as he walks towards his hide, he started doing it when I walked into the room, is this normal or should I be worried ?
I'm nine (10 next month) and I mainly hate everything (i'm strange okay) and hate "playing". I think leos will be good for me because I am mainly awake at night and am more mature than best people this age. I've also done tons and tons of research so I think I'm gonna get one.
I hear you I just turned ten and I don't "play" not even at school people say I am weird and I grow up to fast but I am just mature and my Leo is perfect for me since I don't want to play with it all day.
Hii! Well if your feeding every other day than that's fine. I use crickets and mealworms as Chloe's staple diet. However, it's not necessarily the food but rather what you coat the food with. Make sure your are using a mix of multivitamin, vitamin w/d3 and vitamin w/o d3. They store the nutrients in their tail so the calcium has nutrients. Also be sure to gut load your crickets and mealworms. So basically feed the food before you feed it to your gecko. Hope I helped! Feel free to ask any more questions :)
Thanks I feed mealworms some days that I feed them which is every other day, and crickets on the others with calcium plus. I make sure my adult that's smaller gets the same amount of food as my big one, what brand calcium do you recommend.
Hey guys I have a question. I have a beardie who's about to outgrow his tank and to fill it in I want to get a couple of leopard geckos. Would a forty gallon tank overwhelm them? If it does, how many should I get so it doesn't?
Luiz Famvision my leopard ghecko was 2 years old when it came to me and it was scared and disliked human touch, bit me yelled at me and ran away, after about 3 months of tender care and holding he learned to love me. He falls asleep on my chest now
Yes and no. Leopard geckos LOVE to use their hunting instincts. So, if the crickets are already dead... they can't hunt for them. In a way it takes away from their natural ability to have a thrill ride when eating. Some leopard geckos may not even eat a dead cricket because it's simply not as "fun" for lack of better words. If your leopard gecko eats them go right ahead, and feed them with them. I don't think they are less nutritious but if they are live then it would be really better because you could gut-load them. I'm not sure if your pet store gut loads them before they die, I doubt it but you could ask. But in the end it should be fine, but don't make dead crickets their staple diet. There should be some live mealworms maybe some days or something else in the diet besides the dead crickets (preferably live). So yes! Make sure you coat them with calcium :) If you have any other questions feel free to ask. :D
Are you allowed to feed them pellets every once and a while? I'm going on a trip and I won't be there to feed them and the trip is 10 days and also do you feed one of them once every week?
Yikes, Kevin. So sorry to hear that. We like to have fun here at ProfessionalPets and music adds a bit of style to the videos. We have new intros now that are shorter but they include music too. However it is top rated music and hopefully you like it. Check them out here - ua-cam.com/video/sRoDm-GDhoc/v-deo.html. Or, as always you are welcome to not watch my videos ever again.
are you supposed to clean them? because i have a turtle and its a pain to clean it so it doesnt get fungus, so do they need cleaning? and if yes then how do u clean them
meh_life I never bathed mine but when she was a baby she had trouble shedding the skin off her toes, so I put her in a very shallow, lukewarm 'bath'. If the skin doesn't shed off it could cut off the circulation and the toe could fall off. I stopped 'bathing' my gecko once she was fully grown because 1. she no longer had trouble shedding and 2. there's less risk of it cutting off the circulation since she stopped growing, so the old skin is not too small.
Chloe is adorable, you can easily tell an animal is well cared for, Bravo. Also I want to thank you. You really helped me find my love for leopard geckos. You helped me learn too. Thanks bro.
i jusat try to feed him and he doesnt really eat the live crickets alone. I dont know what to do because he isn't eating and I don't really want to force feed him. What do I do? Please answer me. I have no idea what to do
This upcoming week we are rolling out new intros! We've listened to your feedback and others and we hope you like what we've worked on. Let's just say, they are all less than 45 seconds for sure! Thanks for the feedback! :)
I have a question. i am going to get a leopard gecko in about a month and i was wondering if leopard geckos ever bite and if they NEED to eat crickets?
No, they don't need to eat crickets specifically but I imagine that what you meant was do they need to eat live insects. They will need live insects of some kind, crickets are most commonly used but if it's just crickets you don't like there are alternatives that aren't as noisy and smelly, such as dubia roaches. Otherwise if you want a gecko that doesn't need bugs, get a crested gecko. You can feed them insects, however they aren't necessary and as a matter of fact many cresteds refuse to eat insects at all in favor of the fruit based commercial diets you can get for them. Crested geckos themselves are more expensive to buy than leopard geckos, but in the long run they're much cheaper as they don't require a heating element or live food. The prepared diets are expensive but they have a low metabolism, especially in winter and don't eat very much. Neither gecko species usually bites.
Leopard geckos do not bite, but if you're going to get a baby gecko they are not fully "tamed" yet so they might make a little hissing noise if you pick them up to play with them, but there is usually no physical harm.
+Salmon Saladsandwich you can feed them dead crickets and meal worms, if they accept it or had it since birth, but it's rare, and you can feed them that zoo med powder, but the majority of these geckos don't like that. but some do and if you wiggle the insect with a pair of tongues to make it look alive it could work.
Oliver Guest There isn't really an effective way of preserving dead insects so they don't lose their nutritional value. Besides, shouldn't the fact that few geckos accept them be telling you something?
Hanna Eveningstorm Yea but they are way more worth it. :) My friend had an Iguana it was like a giant Green Dog. I have a Bearded Dragon best pet ever lets me do anything with him.
I love the conversation you generated here, Ry Guy! It's so important that pet owners realize it's okay to like a certain species over the other. In the end you will probably care best for what you love the most and so it's awesome you made that observation for yourself. Thanks for sharing! :)
Every video I've seen has discussed how quiet leopard geckos are. I agree, mostly. They can scream if they're super upset. However, if they're well cared for and not stressed, they usually don't say anything. My leo, Helena, just discovered a great spot to hang out when I'm holding her. Found this video when I was looking for something for both of us to watch, but then she zonked out. I'm wearing a cowlneck blouse, and she's asleep in the folds of the neckline. She's such a sweetheart, and absolutely gorgeous--dark yellow with purplish brown spots and some white on her tail. The spots on her hips look like a butterfly. Darling girl won't eat out of a dish, though. I'm not sure whether it's a vision issue or a case of spoiled gecko syndrome, but she'll only eat if the bugs are handed to her one at a time.
+Leo Life True, most screaming is done by babies or geckos in a "fight or flight" situation. In the months since I made that comment, though, I've learned that leos have a lot of other vocal sounds. On the gecko forums I frequent, I've heard of some abnormally verbose leopard geckos who initially freak out their guardians by spending the majority of their active time squeaking, chirping, whistling, clicking, and grunting. Until the human gets used to it, it's a guaranteed way for the scaly baby to get attention--the voice of an animal that shouldn't be making noise understandably brings someone running to see what's wrong. My sweet girl occasionally makes noise but never screams. If she's upset about a bad shed, a pesky dubia that escaped the dish and invaded her hide, the indignity of having a belly check during mating season (she has a history of infertile eggs), or something else along those lines, she makes this quiet grunt/screech/hiss noise. If she thinks I'm ignoring her when she wants attention, she has a chirp which so nearly resembles a bird that I almost started looking for geckos when I was out shopping and heard one bird call to another.
If i work with my.babyleo when i get it everyday can i get him or her to the point where she pr he will hang out on my stomach or lap while i watch movies and pet him?
You are a great narrator, and glad to see your Gecko friend looks very calm and happy, that is really easy to see. So positive to see people like yourself taking fantastic care of your animal/reptile friends.
i have two ( Wallace and Rikku) i love them. their previous owners didnt handle them, so they arent to friendly. can you still tame them ? they are 1year and a half
I've got an 60 gallon fish tank that I'm going to empty out, is this to big for 1 gecko? Do they need a heating lamp? Can I hold them to feed them treats or do they have to be put into a shoebox to feed always? And this is my first gecko so should I get a male or female?
that's way to big for a leopard gecko start off with a 10 gallon tank and then once it starts getting bigger go to a 20 and that will be enough you need heat lamps for all the time and you do not need the UVB ray ones just a purple or red nocturnal light with at least 75 watts should be sufficient get a repti carpet easiest thing to clean as a new repti owner I had a leopard gecko he passed away still have a beardy an chameleon hope this helped.
OK first of all, you need a heat mat. Never get a lamp unless there's not enough natural light in the room. Second, they can be fed in their tank. A 60 gallon will be fine as long as you have plenty of hides. I'd get dry Eco earth or tile as a substrate. Tile conducts heat well, is permanent, easy to clean, etc. (If you get it, make sure it's textured so the gecko doesn't have trouble walking on it) Eco earth lets your gecko dig and lasts for six months at a time.
lol never get a lamp the heat mat isn't enough heat this is a desert animal from Pakistan there tanks are always to be between 7-85 degrees 90 in the basking spot it can dip in 60s at night
hey I was wondering what type is your leopard gecko? My friend gave me a leopard gecko that looks similar to yours and I was wondering the type since I've been owning him for over a year now.
Hi I have a question so when I get my leopard gecko after i get it should i go take it to the vet for a check up? also how do I know if my gecko is healthy or not without needing to take it to the vet?
I have two cats and I'm thinking about getting a Leo but I'm not sure if my cats will handle the new member well. Should I keep them separate or should I introduced them?
ok i got a leo 2 weeks ago and i have one spazzy cat and one really hiper dog but its fine my cat actually loves the litle guy because she saw him in his cage and she was totally fine with him but also i keep the leo in my room because I bought everything for him and him himself so yea probably just incase keep the leo seperate from the cats
So I'm planning to get a Leopard gecko soon but my one concern is that do you HAVE to give your gecko crickets I'm totally fine with worms but I can't stand crickets.
I give my gecko crickets, locusts, mealworms and on the occasion waxworms. also once a month I give him a little tub of reptile jelly from Pets at home and it contains lots of nutrients that are good for reptiles. also I put the waxworms, meal worms, crickets and locusts all in different tubs with sliced potatoes, sliced carrots and a bit of lettuce in the centre. This keeps my gecko so healthy and really active and strong so I would really recommend it. Everything I mentioned is from Pets at home and comes to about £40 but it's a lot and really worth it! The lettuce potatoes and carrots are all from a supermarket. my gecko is an adult but as an baby I only gave him half of what I mentioned, and no waxworms or jelly until I'd had him for about 6 months-1 year. hope this helped xx
just so you know if it's the sounds of the crickets that makes them unappealing for you, you'll be feeding your gecko small crickets if they're young anyway, which don't have wings! i'm a petsmart employee so i deal with crickets every day. they also do not bite if that is something that bothers you, too. and they're gonna be dead the minute they get home anyway haha :P
oh simple i have a leopard gecko that had the same problem just everday take the hide/s out and let him have more crickets and maybe 1 more mealworm and watch him eat everday my leos tail was buffed up in 1 week but dont get the tail really really fat because if u scare it on accident when its tail is really fat it can fall off and u want it to just be a little bigger in the middle of the tail and about the same size of his body but on ly in the middle of the tail the rest of the teil should grow fine
Hi there, I just got a Sunglow gecko, about 3 months old. Are they pretty much treated the same as a leopard gecko? I use to have a beardie, died of old age, and someone had to get rid of like 50 geckos, so I got one.

Am I supposed to only feed crickets? Should I feed worms and stuff too?
Basically, the first rule is if you can't touch bugs- do not even contemplate a Leo.
Or pretty much any reptile....
Not really. Snakes eat rodents mostly. Monitor lizards and bigger eat rodents, rabbits, etc. It's only the small reptiles that are insectivores.
Razzlewolfflight I don't touch bugs LOL! I use tweezers - great alternative for anyone who doesn't necessarily want to actually touch them. As long as you can tolerate their existence you should be fine. :)

jonah molina Hi! I wish! Look around the channel and you'll find some :)
what the fuck is up with your hands?
what's the song?

What is wrong with his hands?

Oh i didn't see that!
Great video! Iv'e owned a leopard gecko for about 3 1/2 years now and it has been amazing. They are truly wonderful pets for anyone who is planning on getting one
I know right! Chloe just reached 3 years with me and I have to say I totally agree! Thanks for sharing your opinions! :D
My cat killed mine, too.
+ira moser aww sorry :(
+Niamh's i do have a cat but he loved the beardie i had and he would stand by the class and theyd communicate with eachother.... my beardie got sick and passed away a few weeks ago.... like 2 days after this comment actually
Hey thanks so much, your a lot.of help. BUT I DO HAVE A question, how long should I let my new leopard.gecko get used to the habitat??
Do they only need insects to eat or do they need vitamins too? Nice video btw! I really enjoyed it!
Get this vitamin sprinkle and put it on the crickets or mealworms for your gecko it helps them eat vitamins and eat there food faster
Thank you
They require calcium and vitamins lol oof this comment is 3 years old
And this reply is from a month ago XD
TheAnimallover654 inscets and vitamins make sure to dust you insects
Hello I recently bought a leopard gecko and today he seems to be wiggling his tail slowly as he walks towards his hide, he started doing it when I walked into the room, is this normal or should I be worried ?
I'm nine (10 next month) and I mainly hate everything (i'm strange okay) and hate "playing". I think leos will be good for me because I am mainly awake at night and am more mature than best people this age. I've also done tons and tons of research so I think I'm gonna get one.
nice story
Make sure you're up for the challenge and if you don't want it anymore... Sell it. It's better than it dying.
+Arianna Beracasa yeah i've decided not to get one.
+Morgan Loftus ok
I hear you I just turned ten and I don't "play" not even at school people say I am weird and I grow up to fast but I am just mature and my Leo is perfect for me since I don't want to play with it all day.
I have a leperd gecko and mine does not like eating around people is that ok for them
where is the TAMING VIDEO??????????
Hi can somebody tell me whawhat plants are safe for leopard geckos cause I wanna do a natural tank for my leopard gecko thanks!
something tells me this guy is into the sausage business.
Oh my gawd
Ghosty wun I have a gecko and im 9
Ghosty wun -- So what if he is...what's your point? Who cares. His sexuality ain't your business and it doesn't even matter what he is.
Something tells me you're insecure and in the closet 👌
Ghosty wun lol exactly what i thought
I had a leopard gecko a while back but she had spots all over... any clue what type she was?
Cleveland
HideYourKids Whoooooot! Cleveland in the house! :)
ClassyMalick! HUH?
Professionalpets what type of food should I use to make my 2yr old gecko's tail bigger.
Really, a forty second intro? You're not thaaat important.
Yeah the intro is too long but u could have been nicer about it 🙄
Opjink and your not important enough for this comment to matter
😱
Opjink it's not about him, it's about his pets
WinterFazeRunner Overwatch and COD on PSN it's a chick
WinterFazeRunner Overwatch and COD on PSN nvm
Hey guys I have a question. I have a beardie who's about to outgrow his tank and to fill it in I want to get a couple of leopard geckos. Would a forty gallon tank overwhelm them? If it does, how many should I get so it doesn't?
I tried to tame my leopard gecko but it bit me and yelled at me
Just let him. He'll eventually realize it's no use, and that he's safe.
It's a hatchling leave it for 3 or 4 months and you can tame it.
^ But that's only if it's tiny and has a squeaky voice.
Luiz Famvision gotta keep trying
Luiz Famvision my leopard ghecko was 2 years old when it came to me and it was scared and disliked human touch, bit me yelled at me and ran away, after about 3 months of tender care and holding he learned to love me. He falls asleep on my chest now
I've seen in some pet stores they selll already dead crickets in little bottles which you can feed to your lizards is this fine for leporad geckos?
not trying to be rude but he sounds like spongebob
+Zoe Roberts Not trying to be rude, but you sound like Squidward. ;)
lol i am sorry ;)
:o
+Zoe Roberts So much nose involved
ProfessionalPets wait but you never heard his voice
Are you allowed to feed them pellets every once and a while? I'm going on a trip and I won't be there to feed them and the trip is 10 days and also do you feed one of them once every week?
No they are insectivores. And no you have to feed them at least 3-4 times a week
Ok thank you
The song at the start stoped me from watching the video
Yikes, Kevin. So sorry to hear that. We like to have fun here at ProfessionalPets and music adds a bit of style to the videos. We have new intros now that are shorter but they include music too. However it is top rated music and hopefully you like it. Check them out here - ua-cam.com/video/sRoDm-GDhoc/v-deo.html. Or, as always you are welcome to not watch my videos ever again.
Great info. I had a leopard gecko as a kid and now thinking about raising a few for the fam.
I'm 9 and I have my own gecko
Two little Besties same
are you supposed to clean them? because i have a turtle and its a pain to clean it so it doesnt get fungus, so do they need cleaning? and if yes then how do u clean them
meh_life they do not
meh_life only clean them if they get covered in Eco earth or something
meh_life I never bathed mine but when she was a baby she had trouble shedding the skin off her toes, so I put her in a very shallow, lukewarm 'bath'. If the skin doesn't shed off it could cut off the circulation and the toe could fall off. I stopped 'bathing' my gecko once she was fully grown because 1. she no longer had trouble shedding and 2. there's less risk of it cutting off the circulation since she stopped growing, so the old skin is not too small.
there are no cons!
Ahahahahahaha! They are that awesome! :D
what morph is your gecko and how old is it
Is this a video or an intro
I don't know why but watching the gecko walk around makes me want to smile

Chloe is adorable, you can easily tell an animal is well cared for, Bravo. Also I want to thank you. You really helped me find my love for leopard geckos. You helped me learn too. Thanks bro.
Meepie Tfm You're really welcome man! Thank you for the compliment & for watching. Best wishes for you and your leo(s)!! :)
ClassyMalick! I always love to acknowledge owners like you. Because half the time they have very poor health. Keep it up!
Worlds longest intro?
i jusat try to feed him and he doesnt really eat the live crickets alone. I dont know what to do because he isn't eating and I don't really want to force feed him. What do I do? Please answer me. I have no idea what to do
Intro is kinda suckish and long, is 45 seconds really necessary
This upcoming week we are rolling out new intros! We've listened to your feedback and others and we hope you like what we've worked on. Let's just say, they are all less than 45 seconds for sure! Thanks for the feedback! :)
@@ProfessionalPets *takes 44 seconds*
Oliver Guest
There isn't really an effective way of preserving dead insects so they don't lose their nutritional value. Besides, shouldn't the fact that few geckos accept them be telling you something?
Bearded Dragons and Iguanas are way better just my personal preference.
Actually u spend more money on bearded dragons and iguanas then leopard geckos. :) U need a giant tank for beardeds anyway.
Hanna Eveningstorm
Yea but they are way more worth it. :) My friend had an Iguana it was like a giant Green Dog. I have a Bearded Dragon best pet ever lets me do anything with him.
It really depends on the owner and what they're interested in
I love the conversation you generated here, Ry Guy! It's so important that pet owners realize it's okay to like a certain species over the other. In the end you will probably care best for what you love the most and so it's awesome you made that observation for yourself. Thanks for sharing! :)
OreoAJ Very, very true! More food as well! Thanks for watching and commenting! :)
Do they like to be warm? Cause my room is always cold in the summer because of my air conditioner
Hit me with that 42 second cringeworthy intro but thanks for the video
do you have a heat source for your gecko?
cant tell if you are a girl or guy...
It's a guy
Can't tell if you are trying to provoke and annoy me or just don't know what's appropriate and what's not.
Shacain Watson walters Thank you. Enjoy your weekend! :)
cant tell if you have problem with gays or u are homophobic
Hey, i just got a new leopard gecko 5 days ago and hes only 3 weeks old, he has a tiny strip of orange around his tail so would that be a carrot tail?
I have a really big concern my leopard gecko is really defensive and threatens to drop its tale is it okay
How much crickets do you feed him?
They only scream when babies
So is a bearded dragon or a leaperd gecko better because I'm getting one of them and I kinda leaning towards the beardie
I see you already have one, in my opinion bearded dragons are better pets, but leopard geckos are easier to take care of.
Hey, at what age can I stop feeding they everyday? Thanks
I am getting a gecko and was wondering if you could tell me what to do. Im clueless
Hey pet pro, I got my son 2 baby LG for his B day we are only using a under pad heater on the hot side it's at 100 F
Is that good enough?
I'm not pet pro but yh I think that is fine. If you need more info, research it coz I found out a lot about LGs online
I'm planning to get a gecko, so I'm asking do they need a kind of light? I heard many reptiles need them
Leopard geckos shouldn't have any lighting, it can hurt their eyes, but normal lights (ceiling lights) are enough light for them.
This was very informational and helped me a lot with my geckos
i have two ( Wallace and Rikku) i love them. their previous owners didnt handle them, so they arent to friendly. can you still tame them ? they are 1year and a half
after a month or so they're ready to be tamed
+Oliver Guest okay thank you! i love my babies. :)
(If you get it, make sure it's textured so the gecko doesn't have trouble walking on it) Eco earth lets your gecko dig and lasts for six months at a time.
lol never get a lamp the heat mat isn't enough heat this is a desert animal from Pakistan there tanks are always to be between 7-85 degrees 90 in the basking spot it can dip in 60s at night
just get a 75 watt with a mat play it safe
If the heat mat doesn't provide enough heat, you could just get a CHE (ceramic heat emitter) for extra heat
how long do they take to tame?
hey I was wondering what type is your leopard gecko? My friend gave me a leopard gecko that looks similar to yours and I was wondering the type since I've been owning him for over a year now.
Hi I have a question so when I get my leopard gecko after i get it should i go take it to the vet for a check up? also how do I know if my gecko is healthy or not without needing to take it to the vet?
I have two cats and I'm thinking about getting a Leo but I'm not sure if my cats will handle the new member well. Should I keep them separate or should I introduced them?
separate would be your best bet!
ok i got a leo 2 weeks ago and i have one spazzy cat and one really hiper dog but its fine my cat actually loves the litle guy because she saw him in his cage and she was totally fine with him
but also i keep the leo in my room because I bought everything for him and him himself so yea probably just incase keep the leo seperate from the cats
Should I give me leopard gecko "gecko vitamins" they sell them at my local pet store, I noticed the while looking for calcium dust
Definitely. Dust insects in calcium every other feeding and vitamins every three feedings :)
So I'm planning to get a Leopard gecko soon but my one concern is that do you HAVE to give your gecko crickets I'm totally fine with worms but I can't stand crickets.
My gecko is doing fine on just meal worms. I tried crickets, but i found them loud and messy. Meal worms are so much cleaner and easier to handle.
I forgot to mention, my gecko only liked crickets when he was really young and doesn't like them that much anymore x
just so you know if it's the sounds of the crickets that makes them unappealing for you, you'll be feeding your gecko small crickets if they're young anyway, which don't have wings! i'm a petsmart employee so i deal with crickets every day. they also do not bite if that is something that bothers you, too. and they're gonna be dead the minute they get home anyway haha :P
Can you please help me my leapord tail is not so fat but it's body is when I got it it was not fat what should I do
oh simple i have a leopard gecko that had the same problem just everday take the hide/s out and let him have more crickets and maybe 1 more mealworm and watch him eat everday my leos tail was buffed up in 1 week but dont get the tail really really fat because if u scare it on accident when its tail is really fat it can fall off and u want it to just be a little bigger in the middle of the tail and about the same size of his body but on ly in the middle of the tail the rest of the teil should grow fine
Hi there, I just got a Sunglow gecko, about 3 months old. Are they pretty much treated the same as a leopard gecko? I use to have a beardie, died of old age, and someone had to get rid of like 50 geckos, so I got one.
