That is recycling on steroids taking a bland chair leg and turning it into a hand crafted spoon. The end product looks great so much work went into that. I did get nervous when you were separating the spoon from the stock wood and you were sawing across your knee it looked dangerous lol. Although all the way through you made it clear how safety conscious you were. Good old Johnsons baby oil at the end I had no idea I was expecting linseed oil. Also on a completely different topic is that a Bokashi bucket in the background? I have heard of them but don't know a lot about how they work.
Thanks Leanne, that's the beauty of that little Japanese saw it has really fine teeth and cuts gently. Oh yeah, with the safety thing, when I first started I nearly took the top off my middle finger lol It's been gloves etc... ever since. If it's an item I'm gonna use in the kitchen I use olive oil but when it's just for ornament I use baby oil. If on the other hand it's gonna end up in the garden, I use varnish. Around an hour and a half, from start to finish, the first one I did took me 4 hours, it's surprising how much faster practise makes.
