Did you notice at the first stop (Combe-Tabeillon) that the train changed direction? Combe-Tabeillon is a dead-end station. The trains drives in from the right, the driver goes to the other end of the train and drives away heading east and to the left. After the station, the track makes a 180 degrees turn to go west again. It wasn't posible to build 2 loops, so this solution was chosen. The loops are built to gain hight over a short space. In the days of steam-traction there was a turntable at Combe-Tabeillon to turn the steam-engine.
This narrow gauge line is neatly carved into the Jura landscape, with minimal environmental impact. I'm glad that we could keep these lines serving the low population density periphery of the Jura mountains. There are lines with similar purposes and appearance from Neuchâtel through the Val de Travers to Pontarlier in France as well as a from Yverdon to Ste Croix and another line from Yverdon to Vallée de Joux.
Beautiful video of a beautiful trip! Thank you! But this is the second CH train ride where I have noticed a train going through a switch set in the wrong direction!
The traditional Swiss and German facing points have so called “trailable” facing point locks. In Switzerland they are Judel locks, a very clever device which locks the blades in the facing direction but opens the lock when a train trails through. They are fitted with weights or spring packs so that as soon as the train has passed, they return to normal and lock themselves. This aves having to fit motors or having staff to work them. In Germany either claw locks or hook locks are used in the same way. They are only used like this on low speed lines !
Can anyone help me ? i am looking for a 3hours from this channel its the cab ride frome Rome to Milan on the High Speed line in 4k on the Italiian Frecciarossa with the camera outside and i cannot find it Could anyone Help ?.
A l'arrivée à la Chaux-de-Fonds, la 1ère voie qui se trouve à gauche du train va aux Ponts-de-Martel et non à Biel/Bienne. Et c'est également une voie métrique...
Dont quote me on that but generally those are trees peasants keep within their pasture so the cows can have bits of shade when it's sunny and shelter when it rains. The lines mostly didn't disrupt them.
Grazie per aver pubblicato questa linea; bella, complimenti!
Buona giornata.
Ciao.

Toujours bien des voir vos vidéos, par contre les bruits de cabine ne sont pas relaxants en tout cas pour moi. (Avis perso)

Come on now! That‘s not railway, that's awful!
