Hi Jimmy. My dad worked for Garret and installed that afterburning engine on their Falcon 20. It was a test-bed aircraft at that time and that engine was for a Taiwanese fighter. He has that exact picture in his office. He passed away this past January, but that picture is very iconic and cool.
@@victorvodkafish they typically are used by the government's various organizations or scrapped. They will auction off the ones that were not really involved in serious crimes or are not needed.
I do believe that Rafael Caro Quintero owned a Falcon 200 back in the mid-eights. They were known for 2000-mile range with payload of 300 kegs, I'm sorry I mean four passengers.😛
As far as I know the falcon 20 is the only civilian jet who had afterburner, but with the GE CF-700 engine; algo the falcon 20 is one of the few planes qualifyed by FAA with no structural life limit, I'm not sure if the 200 has the same certification, for the GE CF -700 engines equiped there were an upgrade program to install the most modern, efficient and less noisy Garret TFE-731-5ar and -5br. The CF-700 is nothing more than a GE-CJ610 equiped with an after fan.
You would be surprised at the horror stories many Cuban people have about their trip to America. My son is a second generation Cuban American. I’ve worked on a lot of these that is not gonna be cheap plus be sure to check the CAMP to see where it is and how far out maintenance/Due items are. $$$$$$$$
Yeah in a previous life I did a bit of support for the Falcon 20 and the one thing I learned was that they were fine until due for a heavy maintenance check and then it was time to give up... 😢
I once calculated the amount of money spend on the drug programs. It could have funded the space shuttle program into the year 2115. Including a new FLEET of shuttles every 17 years. With money left over to fund public education at the same time.

I have a friend that was flying a Falcon 200. He was of the impression that there were only two flying and he was not sure about the other one. Then the FAA issued a bunch of AD’s. He felt it was designed to make them stop flying it. To expensive to fix. I’ll guarantee you can’t get parts for the engines. It’s hard enough to get parts for the CFE 738’s on the 2000!
Where Jimmy's world meets Don's world! What could possibly go wrong LOL😂 some of the things I could tell you about the airplanes on that ramp. I worked there for 20 years

You can change it into a top end hotel room. Park it on a small airport, you got to rent or buy a plot of land, so, this hotel can't be a budget hotelroom. Divide it into a living room like area, a pantry like area (make shure there is a large fridge for drinks, and a good quality coffee machine) and a bed room. Be sure there is a good restaurant providing dinner and a good breakfast. See? It can be a special thing, for people who want more than just a hotel room. You got that aviation theme. This thing does not need to turn into an RV, but sure you could go for that concept, too. You get a bloody expensive RV, and you'd need to put it on a freight truck size trailer, in order to move it. Complicated. Maybe some flight club would like such an old plane for shelter? RC plane clubs? You never know.
What to do with it ? The Falcon 20 is probably the best looking private jet ever and according to pilots a sweetheart to fly . This is all there fly the dam thing or leave it alone and let someone else fly this beauty

The photo just looks weird and caught my attention. (ATP 15,000+ total flight time CFIIM a&p mechanic)
If you bought that jet, what would be a price that would give you a good return on your investment? Would you do better parting it out, or refurbishing it and selling it in flyable condition?
That is the Garrett ATF 3 Series turbofan. No afterburner. The afterburner was only added to one Coast Guard Falcon 20-200, and that was from what I understand, was for the U.S. Coast Guard, and they had to use titanium on the tail so it wouldn't melt off. @tadillon Is that the same one you are talking about?
I love Jimmy and this channel...but here lately isn't not about saving aircraft anymore like he started out and maybe that's where this is headed. But after seeing him try to save a lot before and then not doing any makes me wonder....??
Jimmy whenever I have free time, I work a lot I watch your videos. I just love it. I started flying when I was 16 1/2 years old went to Embry Riddle for two years ended up working in the casino industry for 10 years. . The various airplanes that you’re looking at I’m sure I’ve dealt with those guys in the casino business over the years. Some people just have too much money and they’re stupid.😂 Keep up the great work, great love your channel. For the last few years, my wife watches all the videos with me, which I find would be amazing. Thank you. RICK MUSK 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
You didnt open the engines to see the corrosion. I am guessing they will have a lot, i am also guessing that airframe is toast. Just a guess seeing how much moisture was inside that cabin.
Yep, you need that jet. I don't know what will you do with it, but that s.h.t is too cool to let it die, or just sitting in some museum. Or anything else.
Jimmy, I wanted to start taking flying lessons so I could work up to a twin rating and find an old Cessna 310 to fiddle with, but my doctor is telling me not to bother. He said I'd never pass my flight physical because I've been fighting cancer. Any way around this for purely non-passenger carrying flying?
Interesting when you look it up on the FAA registry. The company address of ownership is in a sketchy area. You know this was some government undercover stuff.
I'd love to fire up a nice turbine. My neighbors, not so much. Hmmm, panel upgrade or buy a jet? What a fun project to mess with. The hornet's nest might be a dealbreaker though. I suspect the value in the planes there is only in parts and aluminum scrap value and the cost of disassembly/transportation certainly needs to be considered.

Hey Jimmy I have a question on how the conversation process works for airplane for mobility issues
@therealjimmysworld Dave Ramsey has a nice challenger 300, so he already thinks they are awesome.
El chappo that’s Hilarious 😂
What happened to the 310? You know you could just rebuild it as an experimental aircraft. Have you considered this?
Apparently the plane is still a bait plane. It lured Jimmys world to its location.

Funny to see you with this jet, Jimmy. I spent many years putting gas in that thing when I was younger! :P
