So sad how underrated he is. He's one of the few artists today that makes honestly good songs. (Btw I got a very Boz Scaggs-like vibe from this whole album, especially this song and "Book of Broken Hearts").
There is some Hall & Oates influence here too. Give their "Abandoned Luncheonette" album a listen and you will hear a lot of his sound. "Las Vegas Turnaround" in particular.
Honestly this is me, I'm da GIRL he's singing about! Ohh Mayer u just sang my life. How I've been living since the moment I knew what I wanted to be..... 🙏🏽😢
+Morris Kramer its not he same as strange arrangement but its alright .. lol .. we will never go back to them days.. he always like to be unpredictable with his music.. he states he wants to surprise everyone with his music ..
The way MH channels SteelyD can be tres impresive. But this one pulls its punches. And there's not much of a story. Even the production is pretty much 'meh'. It doesn't pop. It lies flat. And this is the best thing on the album, which is perfectly pleasant and not much more. Nothing he hasn't done better before. Kind of laid a big fat goose egg on this one.
I hear a Steely Dan influence. Wow, what a great song. Love it.
Mayer is a SD fan
Si
This song is soooo underrated. He is one of the best artists today imo
Rocking this in 2020 like it was released in yesterday..

Mayer makes nothing but hits!
Damn ! I just realize this isn't from the 80's !! So CLEAN ! Wonderfull music, only good vibes allowed !
This song kinda reminds me of the "yacht rock" hits of the 70's. I like it!
I’d classify this a yacht rock

Looks like a shot out of the opening for Better call Saul.
I like the album, but imo it isn't nearly as nice as Where Does This Door Go. But keep doing your thang Mayer!!
+Morris Kramer its not he same as strange arrangement but its alright .. lol .. we will never go back to them days.. he always like to be unpredictable with his music.. he states he wants to surprise everyone with his music ..
