Alex. So glad you "Dig it." Thank you for letting me know. There is an artist that reminds me of Steely Dan on some tracks in his c.d.. His name is Mayer Hawthorne and the name of the c.d. is Where does this door go." His brand new 2016 c.d. is called "A Man about town." I have to warn you that the first track starts out a little different for a few minutes, but then he gets into the zone. I love his voice and his music. And if you like the blues you got to listen to Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa (Who is one of the greats with a guitar). Together they are fabulous! But Beth Hart can sing like there's no tomorrow. She has a lot of c.d.'s on You Tube with her band and her voice will blow your mind. Janis Joplin is the first I heard in her voice. See for yourself you won't be disappointed. Peace & Love, Carole
😍 he's the only one that can have me say.... "I'm in looooooove" this is melting my heart I loved a few of his old albums. but this IMMA HAVE TO ACTUALLY BUY THIS!
Brian King Lets be honest Mayer is a huge copy cat, last album all he did was try and fail to copy steely dan before that he was ripping off motown and now he is ripping of Phiily soul type shit.I heard many great musicians use inspiration without ripping off, take D'Angelo's Masterpiece album "Voodoo" he has gospel in it without stealing ,he pays tribute to prince without it being obvious.Hawthorne does not do this and he is from my home town but hard to back this guy he is almost a joke if it were not for the fact that at ;east he uses real instruments and tries to write a real tune and does not have stupid guest star rappers on his tunes !!
@@sandynuvo784 You're full of shit, he's clearly inspired by older artists and black music in general but to listen to his entire of catalog and write him off is total bullshit/ignorant. Calling him a ripoff when your youtube is literally stolen videos made and produced by other people makes you a giant hypocrite. Project somewhere else asshole
Perfect 👌
Bravo! 👍👏👏😍
This album has that Steely Dan vibe and I adore it.
Ever checked out "SUNKEN CONDO'S" by Donald Fagen? If not you might like doing so! Peace & Love
Carole Tallerino Thank you for your suggestion, I dig it. :)

I agree. Especially some of those background vocals.
One of my favorites off his NEW album. I play this OVER and OVER. Funky beat, nice vocals... love it. Lingerie and Candlewax is good too.
Late to this album but this guy jams! All previous albums just as solid.
I don't know why I skipped over this album its got a vibe.
Love the drum machine throughout the album
Such a catchy melody!

Onde ta os Brs ????
Great little song, the ending is way too rushed though.
Hmmmm….inspired by Book of Liars?
Shugie Otis RIP OFF !! All this dude does is rip off old artist last album he ripped off steely dan
+Sandra Nuvo Which song by Otis? Was looking him up and just realized one of my favorite Beyonce song melodies is by him
"Aha Hu Mu Med" Great tune by Shugie Otis cheers girl
You want to hear a real rip of that Shuggie tune? Check out The Arcs' "Out of My Mind." Mayer's tune isn't similar to Shuggie's at all.
