Man Dad's voice just draws me in .. I understood everthang he said .. let me at it .. I'll do it .. lol. Ur Dad comes from that era where it was a necessity to learn what made things tick, how to fix them & at times using what ya had to make it happen. Almost like a dying art sad to say. So all the men younger than ur dad's genre needs to really listen to them & learn these things or else it all will be lost. Let me add Aaron .. ur Dad is very intelligent .. what a blessing!! Man U & Robbie both came on at almost the same time.

Oh man oh man! I could work with that man forever. He does know more than the book as he knows the absolute ways of wrenching as I used to do as well. I am 72 like I said, and dad had me helping before I was old enough to try an argue my way out of it. I bet total I got a good forty years along with anything else I ever did. I just never worked a whole lot on new stuff. I most likely can answer any question you might need a answer to. He can do the same and tell you all the tools that you need. I sure would love to see the rest of your day with him

So enjoy you spending time with your dad, and being able to share those memories with all of us. He is so laid back.. like my own husband:-). and to hear a lot of the old stories and oral history of your father's history, " My dad bought this old tractor in 1953. This was one of the first tractors in the valley" WOW, your grandfather passed at age 64?? that is still pretty young. shame you didn't get this fixed... guess more work will be needed..

Never had an old Ford like that. We just had old John-Deere 2 cylinders, a model "A" and an "H". The batteries on them were almost always dead but we didn't need jump boxes for them (Not that they had them when we were kids anyhow) we just opened the petcock valves, turned the gas on, set the brakes, pulled the hand clutch back, pushed up the throttle, pulled the choke, grabbed the flywheel by hand and cranked that old "A" till she fired once, pushed the choke halfway back in and cranked it again till she fired up, then run around closing the petcocks, pushing the choke back in and climbing on :)

Love watching you and your dad working together. It's true what he said about most people in the Appalachians not being able to afford tractors. All my kinfolk plowed with mules or big ol' draft horses even in the early 60's.

I believe there a hole in the front left tire , she was run hard on a flat tire. It may have knock the gear shifter , check the nibble on the arm of the front tire . By the gear pedal shifter it may need some grease , let me know if the nibbles are diffenert in old years . Where can you get rope channel for the oil change . ?
