Looks like an awesome do-everything little light. I have a budget alternative, but has a lot of compromises that the MC does not.. I must say it looks tempting. I love magnets, just makes mounting soooo much easier. (One thing that Apple got right with magsafe!) Thanks for the great video!
Hey there Martin!! I am still rocking an Aputure light from 7 yrs ago so I feel like you really get your value out of these lights. I know what mean though, 200 here, 200 there, it adds up. Definitely on the same page about the magnets, love them, and seems to be the new Aputure recipe for success ;). Hope your week is going well over there and thanks for checking out the new vid! See you soon 👍
Impressive punch coming from that little guy. Impressive output considering its a multi-color. Usually they suffer - not this guy. Nice sharp little screen too…. You are right - might need this guy down the road for the run and gun shoots when in the field or for creative lighting - great review - they should be gifting you entire lineups for overviews this detailed - Great work as always
Hey there David! thank you man, that would be awesome to get on the Aputure team one day, until then I am just enjoying their products, especially this new crop hitting the streets. This MC was announced last year and I have been patiently awaiting, it did not disappoint. Hope your week is going well and your comments ROCK, thank you!
The on/off button, does it work with a single pinch OR push-and-hold (for 6 seconds like LumeCube Panel GO). I have LumeCube Panel GO, which is bright and TINY but takes 6 seconds to turn on or off and it does matter! 🙂
Yeah, six seconds is a bit of a wait. This is a click and hold, but it only has to go for two seconds lol. Even their MT pros have a few seconds of boot up time 😭 Hope you find that quick light that you’re looking for. Thanks for watching the vid in the comment.
Do you think it’s bright enough to be a key light in some situations (one man small bedroom studio)? I’ve seen a video where someone uses the F7 (I think it’s called) as a key light….
Hey there JP, this could definitely help out in a pinch, with the diffuser and placing it close enough out of frame it would work. You might want to check out amarans cob lights also (60d, 100x), last years models have dropped in price, and paired with a small 10$ umbrella, you could definitely light yourself up nicely. These little MCs are great for that splash of color in hard to reach places, and a little extra shine when you need it. Good luck man, I know they have a bunch of options these days, makes it hard to decide. Have a good weekend!
Great light, love this 👍

@@TheFloodLightShow gotcha, I don’t have much lighting experience but I figured it wasn’t meant to be a key light, thanks!
My pleasure man, glad it helped. These aputure/amaran fixtures are definitely a fun rabbit hole to jump into. Take care ✌️
