Thank you. I really enjoyed it as a neutral as I think you have good facilities and cracking food the best I have had so far at football. I hope you stay up and build on it. Can’t beat supporting your local team.
Great video and glad you enjoyed your trip to Boundary Park! I am a season ticket holder and will keep you updated on your sticker! All the best for the rest of the season
Haha thanks I appreciate it, see how long it takes this time. I am will being keep an eye on Oldham, see how you do. Good luck for the rest of the season.
Heady days in 1989-1993. Oldham was a club everyone was routing for. As a Carlisle fan I would see Oldham Athletic as a Championship side. Certainly Notts County and Oldham ‘should’ be higher up than league 2! Teams end up where they are on Merit.
Take your hat off to Oldham only 10 miles from biggest football team in the UK (Fan wise) and City too and still pulling good crowds in non league, remember when the Latics took over half of Wembley in the semi final against United 👏
Totally off kilter here, but how many consecutive seasons have PNE been in the championship? I am old enough to remember the second division, and it seems that PNE have been in this division all my life! I might add, that I will be 70 later this year.
First time PNE got promoted in 2000 and got relegated in 2011 after 11 years. We got promoted again in 2015 after spending 4 years in league one. So currently this season this will be our 8th consecutive season in the championship. So overall we have spent 19 seasons in the championship since 2000. Not bad going but still haven’t reached the top division since 1961. 😂 We won’t talk about the 80’s or 90’s those were bad times apart from a couple of seasons here and there.
Thanks for the recommendation, Will take that into account when visiting Meadow Lane, as we will do it this season. Love your possession style of football you play good football. Very good player you have in Macaulay Langstaff and impressed by Namane on the right wing. Good luck for the season and your promotion push.
Some think we are a one man team, and no doubt macca goals have been key but we have 15 different goal scorers this season, so goal threats all over. Scott isn't far behind mullins in league goals either
Nice I like different opinions and you’re forgetting they are the oldest professional football club in the world. Need to fill the stadium as they aren’t getting half of that but they have potential as shown last month with a 16K attendance.
We were relegated to what is League 1 now in 1997, we spent 21 long, miserable seasons in the third tier, with just two seasons of making the playoffs before our fearless Moroccan leaders saw us get relegated at the first attempt, followed by their second relegation under their fine stewardship just 4 years later - Covid probably staved off relegation by a season or two! Good watch, chaps!
Wow never realised it was 21 years in League One. I still picture you as a league one team from when you played PNE from 2011-2015. I hope you come back one day and hopefully it is the start of your revival. Good luck in the future.
I loved the food there and thought they was reasonable. Much better than my own team PNE as well for overpriced rubbish food. Hopefully get a chance in the future to do Ipswich away with PNE.
Wrexham are only going to get bigger. Notts county probably the biggest club historically but Oldham , chesterfield and Southend are all big clubs. Yeovil , Scunthorpe etc have all been higher up the pyramid. Some of these clubs are much bigger than teams in div one and two. It’s time for 3 up 3 down but clubs won’t vote for it which is short sighted. Very hard league to get out off.
Fully agree it is a hard division to get out of and has my full support for 3 up and 3 down. It will be the self interest of the EFL that won’t vote for it.
Notts are the biggest club in non league followed by Wrexham, then Oldham, Southend and Chesterfield are all similar sized clubs, okay they're getting 7000 now but that's because of the recent takeover and the cheap season tickets, they've been getting about 3000 as a league club for the last few years. They really took a small following to Notts, nothing like Wrexham or Chesterfiled or grimsby or Stockport last season.
😆 you brought 1200 to our ground you are top of the league Wrexham filled the away end embarrassing to be honest and probably the the worst away fans this season. Obviously you haven't a clue what has been happening at Oldham the supporters was staying away because of the way the club was being run. I think we took 800 to you considering our league position that's not bad. I'm sure the season ticket prices isn't much difference to any team in this league. You say the recent takeover like we have been taken over by a mega rich investor he's only stabilising the club we ain't throwing money around paying league 1 wages like the other teams you mentioned.
I look forward to comparing the contenders as they are the club with history and prestige behind it. I look forward to doing Notts and delving into its long history.
it all depends on how you define " biggest club", we are all non league now. i judge the size of a club by the gates against the population of the town or city, on that understanding Wrexham even with current attendances are far from the biggest in the league, they haven't got a massive population but they are the only professional outfit in North Wales and lets face it, prior to Hollywood taking over they've only topped a 5k average attendance 2 or 3 times in nigh on 25 years. Oldham have a population of 250k and averaging 7k this season, again not great. Notts county, Nottingham population 350k, Nottinghamshire 850k, average attendance 7500, again not great. Considering populations teams like Chesterfield and Southend have much better crowds. I think holding on to and still claiming this big club sketch while in non league is a bit like trigger claiming he still has his original broom.
@@jsgcfootball Played in the top flight twice, have the record for attendance in non league game (16k) don’t think anyone in this league has a ground that even holds 16k, played at the likes of Anfield, Old Trafford, The Etihad, The San Siro, won the FACup and two consecutive play off finals at Wembley , do you need more?

Are Oldham Athletic the biggest team in non-league?
Ah Oldham athletic. Many a day wasted watching ‘football’ at boundary park over a terrible meat pie.
Yes
Not by along way.
Simple answer to that simple Question posted by a pair of simpletons. NO
Nope

I don't care who is the biggest just happy we all back our local teams.

Thanks it was a enjoyable day, gladly do Oldham again.
Good to see a Joe Royal stand, he was a good manager and was also well liked at Ipswich.
He was a very good manager as you can’t take his achievements away from him.
Just came across your videos lads and I’ve watched a few of them , great content. Keep up the good work from a carlisle fan

PNE is a proper club, but sadly I don't see them making the mendacious PL ever.
