They somehow have interstellar travel, but if someone said we'd have all of the weaponry in the game available in 10 or 20 years, it'd be perfectly believable sans the Paper Dreadnought. Most of their argumentation for balancing and against fun comes from the perspective of "realism", but beyond it being a crutch, it's also clearly disingenuous and nonsensical when you begin to compare what's available in-game to modern analogs.

It already has. The Rocket Striders, the MF with 50m knockbacl missiles, dies from 1-shot of railgun. I am using only railgun now. AC can kill it, of course, but take way more shots. These Striders never appears alone, at least 2.

Railgun is only good for medium armored enemies and hulks. The railgun should be better than the AMR but it isn’t. Mines suffer from being on such a long cd for having little utility. You can bring mines and use them once every three minutes or take an eagle with multiple uses and the same cd. Strategem meta exists because these lesser strats aren't even the best at what they are designed to do. Anti tank mines take 3 mines to kill one hulk and the ragdolling enemies can set off multiple mines when they die.
Mine idea about mines is keep the drop pod center pieces intact and use it as a mine dispenser which periodically releases mines in that area... And you can set up 2-3 mine dispenser from the same time at different places... Ofc if you call it more from the same type of the mine the oldest one is disappearing...
If they keep mines how it is, then it is best to either give them half the cooldown or have it so they have 2 or 3 uses (each use having their own cd) to make them effective. Otherwise they need to tweak the mines so they don't get set off by enemy corpses, have a lower cd, and the anti-tank can only be set off by medium or heavy enemies, along with not being set off by debris.
Been saying it for a while railgun is lowkey goated against bots. The changes to gunships make it insane. Just take airstrike for tanks and factory striders
Always thought that it's the stuрidest thing ever. I spend my time grinding to upgrade SHARED stratagem that I can't sometimes get benefit from. It's only natural that I expected to get full ammo EVERY TIME i pick supply box after unlocking this module. But nah. I need to CALL IT DOWN FROM MY SHIP for it to work. It's just crazy bad mechanic.

They've made supply a shared stratagem, but for some reason it's still bounded to a person who called it. Better just make it be with packing methodology whenever anyone in the lobby has the upgrade

The jetpack is also in desperate need of a buff. There's so many other utility backpacks and the jetpack isnt good enough to justify replacing the others, not to mention it also takes up a strategem slot
jetpack has a high skill ceiling. its extremely useful on some missions when you have to be sneaky. ofc railgun with supply pack or AC can probably just clear out enemies instead, but jetpack can be faster. i miss it when im not using it
I heard from a leak that theres going to be an improved version eventually, so instead of improving it I think theyre adding a different variant? I dont know if I see the point of why though

I've sworn by the railgun for about 150 hours of fighting automatons. This is, and always will be a beast to Devastators and Hulks when your shots connect. The Anti Medium Chaff.
Jump pack should be reworked - hold down the button to keep going higher/further. But then have it it run out of fuel eventually. Then shorten the cooldown so you can call down fresh ones more frequently. This would encourage people to use it more strategically, and can use it in different & more fun ways. This would even be more realistic. Arrowhead, why havent you thought of this.
Oh, they thought of this. They gave us Dark Matter Containers for a day or two just to show us that they can make Jump Packs fun... but they don't want to.
I run a Mandalorian build like this just for the fun of it sickle, crisper, impacts, railgun, jetpack, your pick of two strats, armor is extra grenades... lots of fun, probably no good on 10 lol
Ive never been a huge fan of the railgun. It feels basic and lacks the cinematic effect of most of the support weapons. Its kinda like the stalwart to me. Feels more like a strong primary style weapon. That said, it's definitely good, and i don't want to discourage anyone from using it.
Again. Railgun was hit the hardest of all nerds then the devs rolled most of it back. Only thing it’s missing now is the original anti-durable, not sure what that number was but I’m guessing at least 20-25%

Railgun definitely one of the most satisfying guns in the game when you land them shots. I wish they’d give the purifier some more juice already so I could run a full charge up loadout.
Railgun IS fun, ngl first time I used it was on bots, didn't even know about unsafe. (Wasn't needed, no hulks, only scouts n smaller) Wish the scope was a bit better, but other than that there are a few tips I have. That being you are correct with shots to the 'upper torso' of Scouts will always kill due to Penetrating the armor if not outright destroying it and hitting the pilot behind it, I think hitting the leg specifically also 1 shots. And: Devastators and Berserkers are taken out with a shot to the stomach area, and you can even get multi-kills on groups of them if they are packed tightly enough. (Works on Troopers too but - lmao) At this point it almost feels like that "overpenetration" effect is only on Safe mode, but maybe im crazy. Also seemingly the reason AT mines are so DAWG WATUR against tanks is the treads having not only their own HP pool, but supposedly being invulnerable to explosions entirely... meaning the Anti-Tank Mines cannot track a tank.
This is a fun and effective build, I played it a fair amount the other day. Another one I am enjoying atm is Scorcher + AMR + Supply Pack. Gives you everything you need to destroy everything from face plates to heat sinks. The scorcher is quite quiet which allows for a bit of sneaky sneaky and the AMR is the king of saving your team mate from a mile away. Also allows you to be liberal with stun grenades and stims as an added bonus.
That shot at 9:58 looks kinda broken. The circle reticle is on the torso, the dot is at the legs, yet judging by the shot trail the round misses way to the right in a manner which is lined up with neither of them.
The same thing happens to me when I'm using the punisher, the circle is around the enemies or exactly on them but I somehow miss when I fire, which makes no sense, arrowhead needs to seriously get a new balancing team
Fav loadout for bots right now is spear double mortar and the 120s running counter sniper and shotgun pistol. The EMS mortars stopping the patrols without pulling agro is amazing.

New troll build that works: -arc armor of any kind -arc tower -comando or EAT --any support bag (I go with jet pack) -whatever you want as the last The firepods destroy smaller enemies and it's always funny throwing an arc tower into a group of enemies to watch them burn the sizzle. Edit" ok.. this build is actually letting me have fun again

I was so happy in the first 30 seconds to hear “Jump pack and railgun”, that’s my main loadout against bugs and I’ve been trying railgun more vs bots, but as a jump pack main, it’s nice to see people give it a chance 😂
You can way more reliably 1-tap berserkers if you aim for the red mid-section instead of the face, by the way! You can also aim for the driver on scout striders. Glad to see my favourite support weapon getting some love! I've started pairing this loadout with the thermites because one will destroy tanks and cannon turrets.
Jump pack is useful for solo, getting up to places you normally couldn't on bots, and for running from bugs if you get surrounded, all it needs is way less cooldown imo.
I feel that with your thoughts on deep rock. Im loving how the game plays and feels, but there's just something about it that I dont quite like. The dwarf aesthetic is part of it, but there's something else I just cant put my finger on.
I do wish it had the scope of the sickle And the jump pack is my favorite other than supply pack. I just love zooming across the map on high terrain, rockets and cannon fire screaming by as I dodge and weave
Id honestly like to see this weapon split into two.. a slightly faster firing railgun that only reaches the safe limit and has a small magazine (3 rounds maybe) And a slower reload/longer charge, single shot.. that deals a lot more durable damage to targets
Ive always loved the railcannon. Even before the recent patch making more useful on the bot end. Before diff 10 and imaplers, it was my go to on the bug front with incendiary breaker.
I feel like the jump pack needs a major buff.... a recharge buff and maybe even a launch distance buff cuz sometimes ill jump and it goes like 5 feet forward Maybe add multiple charges before it goes on cool down ? Or give it more power/height for each jump Maybe give it more height ? So it goes further

Diving should not instantly extinguish fires as it weakens the effectiveness of fire damage, is unrealistic and statistics have shown that diving is a meta tactic to counter fire. Next update should expand on gas strike give us a huge mustard gas for bugs and massive acid cloud for bots. But in reality its just an excuse for the warbond to have gas resistant hazmat helldivers/and or ww1 themed gas mask and gear
My only complaint with railgun is that it doesn’t feel very good to use. If feel like it needs a bit more recoil and visual sparks flying off the impact point.
The railgun is fun due to a bug IMO, the gun itself is a letdown of a support weapon, it should be a primary at this point even if they fully reverted every nerf to it.
Yep, there's just no reason to use it over AMR unfortunately other than the cool factor. If they gave it a good scope I might consider trying it but it still would need a buff considering how long it takes to kill stuff like mortars and the back of tank turrets.

I love hearing streamers and the hardcore players saying this gun is SS tier when really that SS is there skill because they play 100X more than the casuals. and That SS tier is really B tier. What they forget is that their is a community of players that only get to put in limited amounts of time, so they will not have the latest and the best of the best, and know the dive before you shoot strats... these people want to be able to get to the end game and feel powerful while still like Shit this was "In tents" but because people keep saying that this gun that subjectively is not S tier its really Mid... and you are never going to feel like you are strong this is the closest thing to get you there. and if there is a F tier it should be removed from the game. The liberator penetrator this gun has the lowest Damage in game, smallest mag cap and reserve, and when you get hyped to get to a med pen gun you realize that it will take a whole clip to kill chaff. 2-3 shots to kill the weakest of trash bugs out there... the starter pistol deals more damage, what world does a pistol, smg, ever out range, or damage and assault riffle. This needs to be addressed. all the riffles should have base medium pen, and 300+ damage, smg's should be in the 100 with light pen and hand guns should be in the same boat. and ill say it a shot gun shell is a shot gun shell. the difference between mags and tube fed should be reload and DPM now im talking in generalization. but seriously what a waist unlocking the lib pen, i was so happy to get this thing and frankly just turn off the game because of how bad that felt to play. why would i want to grind out medals to get something that has zero value. unbelievable disappointment. Why do i have to watch a 3o min youtube video just so i know that a gun in game is not even worth grinding for, and not to bother. i know im not your demographic that is giving you likes, and watches, but how is it fun and going to pull in new players or bring them back when the game is hard to just be hard. like Pen mechanics is so you can circumvent hitting weakspots, even the dmr's hit like bb guns. the guns dont make you feel powerfull, and the stratigems have such long cooldowns, you have to hold on to them and avoid combat just so you will have them for objectives. Honestly i like the game but it did not go in the right direction, and frankly the changes the devs are doing are just to little. oh.. one last thing F#$K the bots, and the f#$king fog blinding light maps.

Railgun is most popular and most fun weapon in the game. I can't wait to recommend it to more than 30% of my friends😂 I hope that it will only be buffed, buffed and buffed in the future! Such a cool gun, guys, at least 30% of you must try it🤣
Fellowship does seem pretty cool, though I'd like to be able to customize the hero appearances a bit. They probably wont add fine tuned customization options and instead add skins from harder content and a battlepass. Tarisland captured the raiding feel of wow very well, but it was a pay to win mess, the rest of the game sucked, and a nightmare if you didn't have a static group ready to go. Fellowship hopefully avoids those trappings.
I know you said you couldnt get into DRG have you tried either darktide or vermintide? I have a feeling you might enjoy the solo challenges in those games
I use the plasma alot and the stupid ADS bug setting thing is annoying AF, great thing about it is that the stun gives you a little time to do something lol plus it reminds me of playing paintball also the dark fluid jet pack needs to come back!

The first few hours of DRg are hellishly bland and annoying. Once you get the first ammo upgrades for your primary it becomes a lot more playable. But that new player experience put my entire friend group off the game, only reason I survived is because 6 months later I got the game in a bundle and gave it a second chance.

It should have 5 secs cooldown, currently it has 15 SECONDS OF GOD DAMN RECHARGING
I'll take jump pack over a shield for the majority of the match. The only time I wouldn't want it is if I am defending a position

The same thing happens to me when I'm using the punisher, the circle is around the enemies or exactly on them but I somehow miss when I fire, which makes no sense, arrowhead needs to seriously get a new balancing team

Fav loadout for bots right now is spear double mortar and the 120s running counter sniper and shotgun pistol. The EMS mortars stopping the patrols without pulling agro is amazing.
Especially at extraction. Slows em down a whole bunch

The firepods destroy smaller enemies and it's always funny throwing an arc tower into a group of enemies to watch them burn the sizzle.

I was so happy in the first 30 seconds to hear “Jump pack and railgun”, that’s my main loadout against bugs and I’ve been trying railgun more vs bots, but as a jump pack main, it’s nice to see people give it a chance 😂
You can way more reliably 1-tap berserkers if you aim for the red mid-section instead of the face, by the way! You can also aim for the driver on scout striders. Glad to see my favourite support weapon getting some love! I've started pairing this loadout with the thermites because one will destroy tanks and cannon turrets.
Railgun is based. I think it will one-shot berserkers if you shoot the glowing stomach. With a bit of charge.

honestly I'd say tenderizer and diligence cs are the 2 best primaries for bots right now, with the scorcher & dominator in close second
Jump pack is useful for solo, getting up to places you normally couldn't on bots, and for running from bugs if you get surrounded, all it needs is way less cooldown imo.

For the berserkers shoot their waist for a one shot with the railgun their face is a red herring.

Id honestly like to see this weapon split into two.. a slightly faster firing railgun that only reaches the safe limit and has a small magazine (3 rounds maybe)
And a slower reload/longer charge, single shot.. that deals a lot more durable damage to targets

Ive always loved the railcannon. Even before the recent patch making more useful on the bot end. Before diff 10 and imaplers, it was my go to on the bug front with incendiary breaker.

Pathing Methodology works, its just a matter of whoever calls in the resupply needs to have the upgrade for it to work.
I feel like the jump pack needs a major buff.... a recharge buff and maybe even a launch distance buff cuz sometimes ill jump and it goes like 5 feet forward

Diving should not instantly extinguish fires as it weakens the effectiveness of fire damage, is unrealistic and statistics have shown that diving is a meta tactic to counter fire. Next update should expand on gas strike give us a huge mustard gas for bugs and massive acid cloud for bots. But in reality its just an excuse for the warbond to have gas resistant hazmat helldivers/and or ww1 themed gas mask and gear
My only complaint with railgun is that it doesn’t feel very good to use. If feel like it needs a bit more recoil and visual sparks flying off the impact point.
I knew something was up with the ADS since the last patch. Side note ArrowHead let your players customise their weapons like the first game.

Actually found with railgun the thermites pair up well vs bots since they deal with the tanks. 2 hits to the hull or turret, 1 to the vent or gun.
The railgun is fun due to a bug IMO, the gun itself is a letdown of a support weapon, it should be a primary at this point even if they fully reverted every nerf to it.

Yep, there's just no reason to use it over AMR unfortunately other than the cool factor. If they gave it a good scope I might consider trying it but it still would need a buff considering how long it takes to kill stuff like mortars and the back of tank turrets.

Railgun is so niche. I wish it was stronger against Biles and Chargers. Would love to pop shots on them and kill them more quickly. Bugs have WAYYY TO MUCH ARMOR for NO reason.
I love hearing streamers and the hardcore players saying this gun is SS tier when really that SS is there skill because they play 100X more than the casuals. and That SS tier is really B tier. What they forget is that their is a community of players that only get to put in limited amounts of time, so they will not have the latest and the best of the best, and know the dive before you shoot strats... these people want to be able to get to the end game and feel powerful while still like Shit this was "In tents" but because people keep saying that this gun that subjectively is not S tier its really Mid... and you are never going to feel like you are strong this is the closest thing to get you there. and if there is a F tier it should be removed from the game.
The liberator penetrator this gun has the lowest Damage in game, smallest mag cap and reserve, and when you get hyped to get to a med pen gun you realize that it will take a whole clip to kill chaff. 2-3 shots to kill the weakest of trash bugs out there... the starter pistol deals more damage, what world does a pistol, smg, ever out range, or damage and assault riffle. This needs to be addressed. all the riffles should have base medium pen, and 300+ damage, smg's should be in the 100 with light pen and hand guns should be in the same boat. and ill say it a shot gun shell is a shot gun shell. the difference between mags and tube fed should be reload and DPM now im talking in generalization. but seriously what a waist unlocking the lib pen, i was so happy to get this thing and frankly just turn off the game because of how bad that felt to play. why would i want to grind out medals to get something that has zero value. unbelievable disappointment.
Why do i have to watch a 3o min youtube video just so i know that a gun in game is not even worth grinding for, and not to bother. i know im not your demographic that is giving you likes, and watches, but how is it fun and going to pull in new players or bring them back when the game is hard to just be hard. like Pen mechanics is so you can circumvent hitting weakspots, even the dmr's hit like bb guns. the guns dont make you feel powerfull, and the stratigems have such long cooldowns, you have to hold on to them and avoid combat just so you will have them for objectives. Honestly i like the game but it did not go in the right direction, and frankly the changes the devs are doing are just to little. oh.. one last thing F#$K the bots, and the f#$king fog blinding light maps.
you don't have to watch a 30 minute video. I've done tier lists on weapons that are ~10 minutes and I have an infographic that shows when a specific weapon will be talked about

AT mines need to do better damage against tanks, but it'd be super if units that aren't tanks wouldn't set them off.
Fellowship does seem pretty cool, though I'd like to be able to customize the hero appearances a bit. They probably wont add fine tuned customization options and instead add skins from harder content and a battlepass.
Tarisland captured the raiding feel of wow very well, but it was a pay to win mess, the rest of the game sucked, and a nightmare if you didn't have a static group ready to go. Fellowship hopefully avoids those trappings.

@@giygas9305 diff 9 mainly don’t like 10, lasers are easy to juke from medium range and above, if they get close that’s when you face off, escaping when they get up close means you’re going something wrong

The first few hours of DRg are hellishly bland and annoying. Once you get the first ammo upgrades for your primary it becomes a lot more playable.
But that new player experience put my entire friend group off the game, only reason I survived is because 6 months later I got the game in a bundle and gave it a second chance.
I've had so much fun with the railgun on bots with the resupply pack, way more fun than bugs atm. too much fun though, it'll get nerfed soon 🙃
