I don't think it matters on this one it as the cluster bomb is made for small and lighter enemies and the bomb airbursts so it cannot hit most enemies unlike the airstrike and that is perfectly fine cause it shines against huge groups of enemies and you can use it fairly often yeah it works on fabricators cause of an arrow in the model. You can one shot the fabricator with the autocannon too if you place it perfectly and cluster just has huge aoe and this easily hits that.
i think arc would be much more viable if hitting the impaler's head would make the tentacles retract/stun them. maybe not retract, since they'll then pop back up in front of its face, but definitely would be nice if they stopped moving for a moment.
@@AzieltheLiarProbably cause the heavy Hmg shares stats with other Hmgs. They probably felt the emplacement would be a bit too good at body shotting heavies to death without scaling back the durable. Yeah I don't know why the hell they did that. I wish they would have left it as is. But that's kind of a story with Arrowhead. At least we have a hell of a lot of options
Aight I got to ask. Did you test weapons like the AMR, HMG, and AC-8 on his back legs? Unless they changed it, shouldn't they still have less overall health than the front legs? Iirc last patch I could take one down with 2 commando rockets to strip back leg armor and then about 25-30 rounds from a tenderizer mag. Also I hold the medal for the "only person who has died to the impaler melee attack" (when it has its face above ground.)
Since you didn't test it, I can say from personal experience that the normal MG turret can kill Impalers, and it's weirdly good at it. If it's not getting distracted by Wilbur, it's got laser beam focus on the weak point.
When I go for legs I normally do the back legs, seems faster then the front legs. But blowing armor off and mag dumping standard weapon is still really fast, bonus is that you don't have to wait for it to attack.
I'm glad that I've got to see a Goku Charger, the one that just Instant Transmissions behind you and bam. I guess Arrowhead implemented this paying homage to Sparking Zero.
First someone said to aim at the V between the tentacles, then someone said to aim for the eyes but it seems that their actual weak spot is the top of their heads. Thanks for the video.
The arc thrower isnt fantastic against impalers, but since you use it as a primary, you are free to take the crossbow as your actual primary, which is pretty great at dealing with impalers. Also reasonable as chargers. Can close bugholes, and clear some objectives from across the map. Overall great combo. Take the dagger or so against flyers and you are pretty set. The only thing you really struggle with with both weapons (as far as im aware of?) is bile titans. Both seem to suck there. So you need something like a 500kg or orbital precision strike, and rely on teammates for when there is too many bile titans for your own stratagems to handle. Or you take one additional throwaway support, like commando or eat, since all other stratagem slots are basically flex anyways^^
Testing with the shield pack makes it a bit easier, the tentacles will hit you directly less and ragdolling is basically a non-issue Have you tested the weapons on the back legs at all? I've found it seems easier with flamethrower when shooting the back legs. Could be placebo idk
Sterilizer did stop him from Impaling though, so its worth if you want to reset the status But generally if you're that close you want to kill so, again its one of those things where the "support" weapons that promote teamplay are outclassed by, you know just killing the target. I think the nerfs we've seen in the past were trying to account for this a little bit, because if the teamplay weapons have more ammo and more utility than the other weapons available, you may want to pick it. But all that meant was we didnt have ANYTHING to fight with basically. So the devs finally woke up and said, lets let the niche be niche and finally give Helldivers real guns my 2c
Ok as much as I love the weapon changes towards titans and behemoths, I feel as though impalers are actually jokes now. Even before the patch they were pretty easy to kill and play around, only becoming nuisances when they could los you through walls and stuff. Now they die if you flick em on the forehead too hard. I think they should get a minor health buff to their face, nothing too crazy. Or revert their armor to how it was before, requiring a little more investment if you don't want to shoot them in the face.

I have a question, If you can destroy a bot fabricator with a grenade, grenade pistol, crossbow bolt (last 2 being impact explosion) to the vent. Why doesn't 1 Commando rocket to the vent destroy it? When Commando have the biggest damage of all mentioned.
I think its happening because there are 2 separate "destruction conditions" now: - Explosive in the vent, which is a scripted instant kill - High enough penetration will deal damage to the fabricator's health, once the health is gone it blows up This causes some weird interactions with weapons which can trigger both conditions: For example, the autocannon is much harder to "ricochet" into the vent now, because it keeps penetrating, counting as a hit, and damaging the health, instead of bouncing in. That's probably what happens with the commando too - It impacts the fabricator, the explosion is counted against health, and is no longer counted against the instant kill check.
Possibly because the Impaler face is its obvious weakspot while attacking and tanks have higher front armor as of this big patch? Granted I never tried since if the Commando can one shot tank heatsinks.
Try using light armor for the speed, Incen Breaker, Ammo back pack, Eagle carpet, eagle airstrike and then maybe a arc thrower or something else for medium bugs. Use the grenade pistol to close the holes from long range. Makes sure you bring the thermite grenades. They will kill any charger. The ammo backpack is the most important. You can have an constant supply of stims and grenades besides all the ammo. Spam the trigger and burn everything.
So EAT one-taps it but recoilless doesn't? Didn't they say recoilless is now supposed to have higher damage than EAT? EDIT: Wow, so three grenades from a secondary or 4 bolts from a primary kill it, but recoilless won't? Us recoilless enjoyers got shafted.
