Hey, found your page and super informative! Loved the review on the pet washer/dryer set from Maytag! I have the model before that, probably 4 years old and my agitator is starting to squeak sometimes and not too loud (not too overloaded and even after the washer does the drum calibration). I think it’s the bearing below (what are your thoughts?) and which video of yours should I watch to do the replacement myself?
Usually bearings will make noise when in spin cycle. That’s when they’re really being used. If it is not making noise and spin cycle, it could be something stuck between the agitator and the drum. Removing an agitator sometimes is very difficult because they will rust on. There’s a couple good videos on removing agitators. I’m actually probably going to make one in the next week. One thing you could do is put the washer and manual test mode. There’s a way to open the lid with bypassing the lid switch. You can kind of watch and see what’s going on. A lot of times something will get between the agitator and the drum so first thing I would try is seeing if you see anything like a coin stuck. Glad you like the videos. Good luck.
@@jaredbryant8297 yeah I’ve seen that method. This method is just way less expensive if you’re doing a lot of repairs. Some of the newer suspension rods do not have that little plastic neck for the collar clips to hook onto.
@ this method looks like it’ll work for a broader variety of rods too I’ve tried larger clamps for LG rods, fix the error code but was not the best solution
@ i’m starting to lean towards the 3/4 inch gym floor mat. It’s a little more dense foam. They’re probably both fine but I would rather go with the one that’s going to more likely be more durable. Also, the dampening grease go with the one sold by Ben’s appliances and junk. It’s called bounce be gone. I just got a sample in and it’s much better quality than the stuff I was getting before.
trying out that replacement bushing repair as soon as the one i ordered gets here but that metal hub i tried on 4 machines. 2 failed just tightening the lock nut, the other 2 failed within 6 months of selling the machine
The metal hub has a new version two that’s supposed to evenly grip better. I’ll be trying it out soon. I just tried the bushing and that worked. It’s definitely a little bit of a job though.
There’s lots of theories, but I think it’s something called “planned obsolescence” Basically, it’s more profitable for companies to build things to fail in about five years then to make them to last 25.
Great video!
Thanks
Nice job buddy.
Thanks man.
Welcome back!
Thanks

I saw a method using collar clamps, that’s what I use but I’ll try this method

Did it just start shaking again because the wobble came back? Was that the failure?
If this is a permanent fix, why don't they make them that way to begin with?
