Same bro I got a Gsxr 750 I ain’t gonna lie bro a lot these channels said get rc390 and I was way more comfortable and could flat foot the Gsxr 750 and not the rc390 lol and also the weight difference is like 60 pounds lol and I did the exhaust on my Gsxr 750 and brought it down to about 409 pounds so now it’s like maybe about 55 pounds difference. So in my mind I was like there is no different when they said get a smaller bike because the weight 😂😂😂😂 I’m like 220 pounds that rc390 didn’t carry me well and was all wonky and had to shift way more then on my Gsxr 750

It’s all about respecting the machine. Never rode on 2 wheels before. But have done plenty of track days with cars. So once I found the friction zone. And understood throttle control. I was good. And the 1st bike I ever got on was a hayabusa. So it can be done. But u gotta take your time! And don’t let anyone make u ride outside your comfort zone.

Man, how did you even get use to the weight of the Hayabusa?
Yeah the fastest way to crash is to ride with people who are above your skill level because you'll be struggling to keep up with a pace they are use to.

I been riding bikes since kindergarten. On the street, I started on an 80s XJ650 and have absolutely no regrets about it. In high school, by far I had the fastest thing in the parking lot, but if ya'll know old bikes, you know those old Yamaha's weren't speed demons. Stayed with that bike for 4 years before upgrading to a lightly built K6 Gsxr750.
I always tell people, starting on fast bikes can be OK but it just ain't as fun. The joy you get from riding an old or slow bike fast is so much more than what you get riding a missile slow and being afraid of the power between your legs. Regardless of maturity or mindset, I always recommend starting on something 90hp or less for that reason. Learn your fundamentals and get that rider mod before you try stepping up to the 100-180hp ranges. You'll have way more fun and get into far less trouble while you're learning.

I started on a 125cc at 48 as my first bike.
I still ride that bike a year and a half later and looikng to upgrade to a CBR500r sometime in the future, nothing more powerful than that.
At my age I still don't trust myself, especially when I drink and get the urge to ride, which I've learned to try hard to resist, thankfully not through any mishaps.
So yeah, I'm sure one can start on a Busa, just not me.
But dreaming is free I guess so I still drool over bike videos.

Best thing to do when you've only ever ridden a bike for 500 miles is not to start handing out (bad) advice to other noob riders. Sure you've gotten away with it so far but who's to say that you wont be posting your very own "Well I just had my first crash" video in another week or two? I've been riding since 1997 and can say for sure that for the majority of new riders, starting on a 750 is a bad idea. But at the end of the day do what you want. It's your life.

Your either made to ride or your not. If you have a "natural" affinity towards motorcycles, then sure, start on a 1000 even. Your not just gonna whisky goose the throttle. All that stuff is 1000% fake, like he said. The problem is, like most activities, most people are not naturally gifted on bikes. If your one of those people, then yeah, you CANT start on an 600/100. You WILL have an accident. However, you must acknowledge that for some people, starting on an r3 or a similar small bike just ain't it. I got a perfect score on my MSF, never rode a motorized bike before, and bought a sportster 1200. Within 20 minutes of ownership, I had it at max speed on the highway. 3 months later I had a gsxr 600. Have I crashed? Yeah, but its not from my lack of skill, its from my lack of smart judgement, just like any 21 year old.

I do everything with my 300 that you can do with the 750 but I can go through every gear having fun and learning at the same time 90 mph on a 750 is the same 90mph on a 300 it’s not the bike but the rider it’s all about learning and progressing.
