irfan pradana don't get me wrong... i hate khezu. it's a chore to kill, it's not a fun fight in any way and the only good thing it has it's a funny weapon
I actually had a bard once that i rolled a 24 for strength, got the perfect 16 and rolled another 6 for exceptional stat. (i dont remember what version of D&D that was) but yeah this weapon is amazing, i love having them in my hunt, but the mechanics of it escape me, even with tutorial.
They don't understand the mechanics then, don't worry ;) whenever I see a fellow dooter, I whip out a HH with different buffs to keep everyone topped up, and the monster KO'd
EliteFireSaint Yeah well in world they do not apparently. Since there are so many first timers around that don’t know what the HH is capable of, people just run away from you and your buffs. Which makes me kinda angry.
Hehe...I've picked up the HH recently, and it's pretty hilarious to use. I especially adore the sound the bagpipes make when you mount a monster and hit them with it. It sounds like repeatedly whacking someone in the face with an actual bagpipe.
The hunting horn is awesome. I was using the Deviljho horn during the Kulve siege once and because of the attack buff, my squad was able to do so much damage during the 2nd area, that she skipped the 3rd area and went straight for the 4th area. Too good.
I think it's because it looks goofy as fuck. I used to play hammer but the goofball horn is much better and much more versatile. Who wouldn't want to break horns, KO/exhaust ennemies and buff the group while also moving around at a much higher speed than any other heavy weapons? I main SnS and the only weapon that I enjoy as much is the goofball horn.
Something you didnt mention, you can chain your songs... the last note of any song can be used as first of your next song, you if you want to optimise something like Teostra Orphee you should chain the notes for: 1. Abnormal Status Attack Increased 2. Divine Protection 3. All Ailments Negated so the last note of ASAI will be the first for DP then the last note of DP will be the first of AAN! this is really important if you want to apply ASAP all the buffs and deal the more damage with less notes
What I love most is that he never edits out when he gets hit at during the combat display. Not only that, he thoroughly explains what he can do immediately before and after different as options. All whilst still murdering the monster the whole time lol. Always love just refreshing myself with these videos.
cb is hard to get into but once u use it a bit it starts to become second nature like guard pointing. it's a hidden mechanic so new people wouldn't know about it. much like cancelling SAED into a normal AED with the back + triangle
Nikolas Taylor he said this is the last I think that means he already made one idk I only looked at bow and LS since I had to use bow for Arena Here’s a link to a video on the changes to insect glaive he made I’m assuming it’ll go over the move sets and how to use it: ua-cam.com/video/Uug81rUvnTs/v-deo.html
It's pretty useful to get armor skills that prevent you from being interrupted, too. Flinch-free is great, and wind resistance, tremor resistance, and earplugs are options if your hunting horn doesn't have them as songs.
People only don’t use this because there is an untrue notion that some weapons, horn chief among them, are “support classes” unsuited for dealing significant damage. Sure, the HH has some support aspects, but it is by no means incapable of impressive damage on its own.
The best way I've seen it put is that HH is like a hammer that happens to provide support, not a support that happens to function like a hammer. I really shied away from it because I was worried about it being useless for soloing, but since the support is intrinsically tied in with the attack moves you would use anyway, it's great for anything you need it for. It very quickly became my favorite/main once I realized that.
Did a speedy little 15 min nergigante quest with a hunting horn main last night and he absolutely carried us! Wish there were more out there. The buffs are so nice :)
I had a tough time with Nerg, but I did it solo. Next up, I fought Vaal Hazaak. Hunting Horn player joined and healed us the whole time while making us immune to the effluvium. I believe he also raised our defense. He was an absolute cakewalk after that. I had never even seen Vaal Hazaak before, but this hunting horn player made him look like an oversized kulu ya-ku.
Your tutorials are phenomenal, but with massive respect, I'd like to offer some constructive criticism:I feel like I have to watch this video 3-4 times to fully understand the note portion because you're talking too fast and the demonstration of your explanations pass by too quickly before I'm able to process what you just said. I know there's a lot to cover...but I recommend slowing down a bit, say "here's an example of what I mean", then walk us through button by button. It would save some of us "slowr-lurnin" folks having to rewind the video over and over lol. Thank you!
My biggest issue with their tutorials is that they always go over the basics and bread and butter stuff too quickly and linger way too long on the more advanced stuff.
Tbh I have to watch these videos repeatedly in between play sessions, and get more out of them each time. It takes time to put everything into practice, but the fact that there is so much info here is really helpful.
@@anthonyc19 I know this is really old but wanted to reply. That's probably because they go at it with different mindset than us beginners trying to learn it for the first time. Unless they specifically take note when they learn how to use it, they probably don't realize that there's some stuff we would like to clear up about the basics.
Been using the horn for a little while now and was unaware of the quick stab, free note and encore abilities. My hunting party thanks for you improving us even more!
Have used several of these weapon guides to spot odd bits i was missing about weapons i was using. Here i learned about the hilt stab, the circle flourish and that when i'm doing encores i need to actually move my stick, something i have not been doing! Hunting Horn is great, one of my favourites now i've learnt to use it! Also in love with the Legiana Harp- makes me feel like a dooting rock star with every swing!
I Main Hunting Horns in MHW and I'm disappointed that all of the opening recital moves were completely glazed over and never mentioned.... some of them have great damage and positioning.
Small tip.... I dont know if it usefull tho, when you use the overhead smash with HH, as soon as the HH hit the ground, press forward R2 to go instantly to play the song. Im not sure as to the damage, but it shorten the time you do to play the song, rather than wait for a while and then press R2 to play the song. Furthermore , HH have many types of songs, ex. The teostra HH is pretty much the vaal hazak kryptonite since the horn can negate the effluvial and have a def blessing( i forgot the name). A great HH user can make a huge difference in battle because of the buff
Silver Twinkle i think its all about practice the timing and positioning, when fighting kirin with HH i prefer to use a hit and run strategy. And i rarely use the encore unless i have my rocksteady mental or my thunderproof mantel. And i make sure to have the anti kirin armor which have negate stun and thunder resist.
Fantastic guide! Hunting horn is one of my favorite weapons, especially since they added the song list in the upper right so you don't have to memorize all of the note combos anymore. Something I noticed you didn't cover is how you can tie songs together. What I mean is how the ending note of one song, can also count toward the beginning note of another song if they're the same color, therefore cutting out the need to double play a note and making queuing up songs even faster. I'll use the Deep Vero notes as an example since its the horn you used in the video. I always do Triangle (purple note), Triangle for Self Improvement, but since Deep Vero's Attack Up L song starts with a purple note, I can press Circle (red note) then Triangle + Circle (blue note) during the flourish then Triangle again to queue up both Self Improvement and Attack Up L without having to play the purple note 3 times in a row transitioning between the two songs. And then since the purple note also ends the Attack Up L song, it counts toward the beginning of the Defense Up L song and from there I only have to play two blue notes and one final purple note, and just like that with 8 swings I've queued up 3 songs to play.
on ps4, I've literally only ran into 2 HH mains in my entirety of playing (180ish hours so far.) both had eastern names and were clearly adept with the HH. Nirgigante died within 5 minutes because my CB damage skyrocketed when they reached me after joining an SOS (': it was beautiful. I will forever have massive respect for true HH mains like that deadly duo.
Doot Doot! I soloed so many monster hunter games with HH, it's nice to see someone treating the weapon with the respect it deserves instead of as a healer or support hunter! Keep up the good work sir
I know I'm super late but I am actually new to MH. Just started about two weeks. On my solo play I go as Sword And Shield, for my multi-player I play Hunting Horn but have been struggling with learning the mechanics. This is a massive help, thank you.
One tip that he didn’t mention is that you can chain songs. For example, triangle > triangle will queue up the movement speed buff but you can then use the end of that song as the beginning of another song. So playing one more triangle note will queue deflection prevention and attack instead of two. This way you can queue up multiple songs very fast just by paying attention to the order you play them so that the beginning and ends of songs line up.
The length of the song doest not effect encore damage. A three note and four note song result in an identical encore. The self improvement song results in a weaker- faster encore.
So, me and a couple of friendos are jumping back in to MHW before Wilds drops. Back when World dropped Your videos helped so much! In RIse Hunting Horn was my main, but Rise made the Horn much simpler to use! In World my main was Insect Glaive and even back then I referred back to your guides. Thank you, Arekkz! Every time I want to use a new weapon I marathon one of your videos to help me, help my hunting group!
Your videos are the absolute BEST Arekkz! Never stop what you're doing. I've been watching your tutorials since they came out, and they're absolute perfect to just pick up and watch again when I'm feeling rusty with a certain weapon.
Out of everything you said, the only thing new you taught me was the shockwave and the effects they have. As always, your videos always tell me I have more to learn.
I just wanted to mention a horn i dont see on alot of lists out there so here wall of text. Sectored the Leginia horn. It looks nice with her skin and scales and it is a harp and sounds like it when you play. the songs arnt bad either *Stamina Use Reduced, Wind pressure negated, Defense Up (L) Health Rec (s), and Health Rec (M) + Antidote.* This and the Anja horn are the only final forms with an antidote. It also carries a tiny bit of white sharpness to take advantage if you wish and a nice 360 ice. A good harp indeed. The more you know.
I LOVE THE HORN. People just always want big numbers. It's boring when all I see is Wyvern x3 and me in every fight. With My Val peak performance build. With health regen augment/medicine jewels. My attack stays around 1500 on the Verro. Even with -30% affinity I still hit around 200 and regen 15% of that with an additional 30% from medicine jewels. Hands down fav weapon in game right now.
LazyTallGuy Sure. It's more of a QOL build so some stuff can be swapped out for damage but I prefer other things. Helm:Bazel Chest/Arms/Waist: Val and legs:Deathstench. I also use to Earplugs charm to make me immune to roars. You get 11? jewel slots as well. I use Vitalityx3 Medicinex3 Sonorus x1 The peak performance one and have 3 slots to do whatever with. Dragon attack/divine protections are my main go ones. Like I said a lot can be switched up or switched around I just like this build the most so far. If you dont want earplugs you can use a different helm and attack charm but I just like the roar protection. Between Vals recovery and health augment I'm always near full. I also have the vitality mantle on which I think is super under rated. It can absorb damage keeping that sweet peak performance on even longer.
The very best thing about Hunting Horn in World is the ability to queue multiple songs all at once. This made it super powerful and super useful for both the player and their teammates--cutting down a lot of time on pausing every now and then for reciting songs.
@@SoRa-re1yd Umm... Maybe I'm just slow but I am failing to see any sort of pun in this comment and it's killing me. Am I stupid, or are you stupid? In case it's you that are stupid. A pun is a play on words that takes advantage of words with more than one meaning, or words that sound the same but have different meanings (and sometimes spelling). An example would be something like... Mom: Hey remember your dentist appt. at 11:30, you know where it is right? Kid: Yeah, I've been to the dentist before, I know the drill. Here we're looking at the word drill, which is our pun in this example. Drill can mean A. Some kind of instructions or training; "I know the drill" (As in I know the routine, I've been there before and know what I need to do to take care of that appointment today.) Or B. A power tool; "I know the drill" (As in the dentist has had to use his power tool in order to take care of say, one of kids cavities, in the past. So now, he "knows the drill," he's become acquainted with the dentists power tool, the "known tool of dentists" when trying to paint them in a negative light. Making a dentist's having a drill, apparent to nearly everyone. Thus, the reason why ones mind could easily go to either option (a or b) when hearing this statement. This is a very important aspect of a pun, and also why people tend to hate puns sometimes. Some people (douches) tend to get a bit cocky with how obscure their puns are, and the level of intelligence required (astronomically lower than douche thinks) for one to recognize and point out said puns... These people should be killed and disposed of in your nearest river, or other large body of water, at your soonest convenience. If I'm the stupid one... Well I await your reply and the ensuing insult, which will be entirely deserved, regarding my long-winded explaining of a pun when I can't even recognize one in the first place... I'm sincerely hoping you're the stupid one... Don't be a douche though, or it's to the nearest body of water you go!!
@@SoRa-re1yd I type insanely fast yo. My intention wasn't at all to be calling either you, or myself, names by the way. I was attempting to call one of us stupid, in a jokingly... Like, "dude bro you don't know what a pun is? You so stupid!! Oh, almost forgot, be the best man at my wedding next summer?" kind of a way... I should have seen while typing, that it would in fact not go over that way at all... I was hoping that the fact I wasn't positive if what you were replying to actually was some kind of a pun or not.. That little detail would basically label me stupid regardless of whether we were in the presence of punnage or not.. So if I'm stupid... Then maybe that would soften the blow, and make calling you stupid a little more light hearted and fun. I dunno, makes zero sense to me now that I'm talking about it, so.. I think we've definitely figured out which one of us is stupid at least. 😉
before I watch this video, I want to comment on how often I go back to your tutorials for weapon use and how useful it has been. freedom unite, I never really used the hunting horn apart from killing the Giadrome. now that the circle+triangle ground slam has a backward 1st slam(using it like a hammer charge 3 stationary), I really don't know how to use it.
I had never played Hunting Horn before MH: World, so I decided to start World with the HH. That was the best way to learn everything. Sticking to it, made me master it. I now consider it my main weapon, over my previous main being the Lance.
Note: Beginning and end notes for songs are shared. Example using 1 2 & 3 for T C & T+C, respectively. Playing Atk up + HP Boost: 2, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 1. Since the end note of hp boost is the same as the beginning note of atk up, you do not have to play it twice, streamlining the process. Something people should know.
lol, yeah. It's not super simple to give an example of outside of a video. I mean, I guess I could have put it as: Circle, Triangle+Circle, Circle, Triangle, Circle, Triangle+Circle, Triangle. Or did it by note color. Numbers just seemed simpler to type out.
For style's sake, I prefer backward encoring. Not only does is hit just at many times as the forward encore, but the final hit of it just feels so satisfying.
Been playing world for over 300h and finally picked up the hh. Had a blast today even though I was doing a lot of wrong things lol. This really cleared things up, thanks. Can’t wait for tomorrow to try again.
I know this is from long ago, but just today I started over with 2 friends and I wanted to main a weapon I haven't touched before for this playthrough, with my choice being the Hunting Horn. This video was incredibly helpful. Seriously, the encore mechanics, the flourish hit and the little jab are incredible information. Also, I didn't know why there were sometimes multiple songs queued up and how to use that. So that was also very helpful. Maybe this stuff is obvious to some people and it may be strange I knew nothing of it considering I played through the game. But keep in mind I never touched the Hunting Horn. So again, thanks for this video, I believe your video was also the one that taught me Insect Glaive when I first started playing. You are simply amazing at making guides.
I don't play the hunting horn but it was fun to watch. I have immense respect for people who play the hunting horn well. They may be few in numbers but when they join my hunting party I always get a little smile on my face
Big tip for new horn users! You'll see Arrekz holds the horn upright when he Performs after the short jab attack with the hilt. This upright position is a quicker start-up to the song, so if you can end a combo with it before using Perform, it ends up being slightly safer. Dootsticks unite!
as a horn main since 4, I actually don't tend to use maestro anymore. since recital is easier to use than ever and songs are constantly being refreshed, their duration really doesn't matter much
I started in MH4U and got a good grasp of every weapon gameplay with your videos at the time. Now I'm waiting for PC release watching your videos again with the same interest. Good work my friend ! And thanks for the quality content.
Thank you SO MUCH for this video. I've always loved the idea of the hunting horn, but my friend has never used it and is unable to help my noob-ass get better. I watched your video a couple times and I immediately feel like a much better player. The weapon feels MUCH less cumbersome and I actually feel like I'm making a meaningful contribution to the hunt.
it is a big ass hammer that you can play sick tunes on i have abosolutely no idea what this serie's lore is about, but the title sounds self-explanatory and the weapon looks pretty rad too. sign me the FUCK up
And if you kill the monster, you can play a song to not only celebrate your victory, but it can also be a funeral song for the monster you killed. It’s great.
Been waiting for this for a while so now I can finally try to get good with the horn rather than just being a walking atk and defence boost to better players
Oh man I had a cheatsheet always with me to keep an eye on all the songs of the horn, I skipped straight from MHFU to MHW and I was soooo glad to see all the improvements
Honestly this makes me wanna use the horn more than i usually. The last 2 vids helped me learn a few things i didn't know, but i usually main the CB. Thanks for the vids cover 6 outta the 12 weapons i use.
I'm sure you know by now, but yes, with its self buff potential the hunting horn is perhaps one of the most viable single player weapons. A few buffs later and you're basically god.
All I can say is a fully respect people who use HH to master this is incredibly rewarding to see when someone has and is just buffing you and shitting on the monster at the same time, true unsung hero of the hunt.
I love this weapon more than I love myself. Also, very small and quick point, but if you have your weapon drawn as you jump off a ledge, your jump attack will be the same, but you can make it any note you want.
I find it kinda creepy that Deviljho Hunting Horn is his face/mouth and it moves when playing notes. That's some necromancer body horror bullshit right there. Like you're using the tortured screams of a dismembered and butchered embodiment of rage as your enslaved musical bludgeon of death. I'm sure that since Hunters are "No Waste" survivalists that they used Jho's own vocal cords and voice box in the construction of that nightmare maul.
as a new player to this game i chose this weapon as a meme and i feel in deep love with it and i’m saying this with great love and saying that this video was very helpful
I'm trying to play the Hunting Horn, but man... i'm having 0 fun atm, i feel like i can't attack freely without thinking about queuing song for some good encore damage, my eyes are most of the fight looking top right lmao. But you know what, this weapon deserve love, and i'm not going to quit and go back to the Longsword.
My 2 friends and i decided to play a 3 hunting horn team and sos one random guy in for lols.. the fight was glorious with so many types of buffs xD. It was so fun to see and hear so many melody
I think you missed one small thing. If the last note of a song is the same as the first in the next song you don't need to input it twice. So for your Deviljho horn for instance, you can play Health boost>atk up>def up in that order skipping two triangle inputs.
Fantastic video. There was one trick that wasn't mentioned though. The last note of a song can contribute to the first note of the next song. For example, if I wanted the first 3 songs shown in this video, I could use: Blue Blue Red (Wind Pressure Negated) Blue Red Purple (Health Boost, first note skipped) Red Blue Purple (Attack Up, first note skipped) Not a big difference, but it can mean getting songs lined up a little faster.
Of course. With the right build, good knowledge, skill, and a bit of luck, the Great Sword can make you the MVP. I hear complaints of how “It’s too slow” or “It’s too clunky” when in fact, it’s from players switching over to it from a entirely different weapon who will find themselves being carted over and over, when if you stick with it from day one, and learn, it can make you extremely useful, and turn monsters into nothing more than slash-covered corpses.
Why not use both? ;) Those two are my forever mains, while I still use plenty of other weapons too, nothing's restricting you to only use GS if you'd like to try something else.
Well, time is one thing. I already barely have enough time to grind for my GS upgrades, let alone try to learn another weapon and upgrade it. Also, my build is designed towards my GS, so I’d have to completely revamp it to work properly with a Horn. I’d say if I had another ‘main’ weapon, it’d probably be the Heavy Bowgun, but even then, I only use it to gather shells from the larger insects, so they don’t explode from being hit with Cloud Strife’s Buster Sword.
That's fair, I have plenty of time so I like to use almost all the weapons and I have multiple sets for each, but I understand that time can be an issue. If you ever get more time for it tho I really recommend trying out something new! If you're in the endgame it doesn't take too much to make a new weapon and a set for it, it makes the game even more fun imo.
As a HH main, something that was left out was the ability to reposition during first melody play. If you put in a directional input for the initial play, you can move slightly to get better placement for the hit and for the encore. For example, if you are too close where the shockwave and hit would hit the back/shoulder.. you can hold back and hit play which will cause the hunter to step back and hit almost exactly where you were standing over hitting forward.. can help get those head hits in where you would normally miss.
Oh a tutorial on how to become an ascended being
We out here.

Starting with the horn so awesome. Battle doot. Managed to keep our team alive against tempered Kirin
When you can't decide between Bard or Barbarian, so you play a bardbarian.
Also, this is easily an underrated weapon.
Bardbarian is really funny!!
Should've written in it as "bardarian".
Frustrated musician
I actually played a bardbarian skeleton in dnd once that’s why ima use this weapon
Agreed, I don't understand why more people don't use this thing, it's awesome!
me noticing that deviljho's mouth opens during notes
capcom's attention to detail is amazing
the best thing is how the chains are there to keep its mouth closed, like it is a living weapon
For a dot mains try listen to an Amon amarth - Raise your horn ( metal song ) song while playing and you'll be like viking
the best horn is still the red khezu horn
Davide Missaglia the problem is where to place khezu. Fight on cave in ancient forest would be a hell because of the tiny space.
irfan pradana don't get me wrong... i hate khezu.
it's a chore to kill, it's not a fun fight in any way and the only good thing it has it's a funny weapon
You can actually see if your friends are in range of your buffs by a little note symbol next to their names :D
Alexander Bob Obrist that's really useful

I'm paraphrasing someone else, but the Hunting Horn is awesome because it's like a Bard rolled 20 in strength
Pol Subanajouy oh god he’s seducing everyone oh fuck he dated the dragon oh god oh fuck
Rolled infinity if you get a good hunting horn main.
Bardbarian never seemed so real
As bard that seduces you with their fists
I never met anyone that was particularly happy to see a HH player.
They don’t even seem to care about my Attack or Defense Up buffs
*doot’s sadly*
Vypren don't worry, as long as a horn plays attack or affinity up, I'm a happy glaiver
They don't understand the mechanics then, don't worry ;) whenever I see a fellow dooter, I whip out a HH with different buffs to keep everyone topped up, and the monster KO'd
In 4U a good HH user was always appreciated.
EliteFireSaint
Yeah well in world they do not apparently.
Since there are so many first timers around that don’t know what the HH is capable of, people just run away from you and your buffs. Which makes me kinda angry.
Bruh I'm always happy when I see y'all.
The people of the doot may celebrate! We are few in number but our doots resound with the passion of our hearts!!

Hehe...I've picked up the HH recently, and it's pretty hilarious to use. I especially adore the sound the bagpipes make when you mount a monster and hit them with it. It sounds like repeatedly whacking someone in the face with an actual bagpipe.
True, you can't get enough of it. And also the way you dance when performing is the best.
Hey Arekkz, you missed that the last note of a song can be the first note of the next:
Song 1:123
Song 2: 321
You can go 12321 and get both songs
The hunting horn is awesome. I was using the Deviljho horn during the Kulve siege once and because of the attack buff, my squad was able to do so much damage during the 2nd area, that she skipped the 3rd area and went straight for the 4th area. Too good.

Possibly the most underrated weapon in MHW, and I will never understand why
Yassin Hassan not everyone can handle the horn.
I think its cause most people just can't be asked, such as me, rather than its bad, cause it's really not.
From what i've seen and heard.
Low damage, complicated buffing, weird attacks.
(I'll probably be trying it at some point, regardless)
I think it's because it looks goofy as fuck. I used to play hammer but the goofball horn is much better and much more versatile. Who wouldn't want to break horns, KO/exhaust ennemies and buff the group while also moving around at a much higher speed than any other heavy weapons? I main SnS and the only weapon that I enjoy as much is the goofball horn.
+Zech of The West I agree with your last 2 points but the hunting horn doesn't have low damage.
Something you didnt mention, you can chain your songs...
the last note of any song can be used as first of your next song, you if you want to optimise something like Teostra Orphee you should chain the notes for:
1. Abnormal Status Attack Increased
2. Divine Protection
3. All Ailments Negated
so the last note of ASAI will be the first for DP then the last note of DP will be the first of AAN!
this is really important if you want to apply ASAP all the buffs and deal the more damage with less notes
He missed a ton of stuff honestly. Doesn't make me very happy as a HH main :/
yeah but tbh, i feel like it's enough to make it interesting for new people...
I’ve been waiting for this one! As a hunting horn main. Now everyone will see how great this weapon is.

I main charge blade, and it's not complicated at all.
yep CB is really easy to use but hard to master
cb is hard to get into but once u use it a bit it starts to become second nature like guard pointing. it's a hidden mechanic so new people wouldn't know about it. much like cancelling SAED into a normal AED with the back + triangle
I tried to learned HH but CB proved more easier to comprehend
@@painsenpai01 well. learn. that's why games are fun.
Doot doot! I promised you Hunting Horn wouldn't be last :P
Arekkz Gaming how long did it take to “master” it
Arekkz Gaming man I’ve been waiting for an insect glacé one for so long feels bad
Nikolas Taylor he said this is the last I think that means he already made one idk I only looked at bow and LS since I had to use bow for Arena
Here’s a link to a video on the changes to insect glaive he made I’m assuming it’ll go over the move sets and how to use it: ua-cam.com/video/Uug81rUvnTs/v-deo.html
See in the video where you show the encore back is actually left
The Hunting Horn was the first weapon I ever mained in the MH series. I forgot how badass it was, so I think I'll get back into it
It's pretty useful to get armor skills that prevent you from being interrupted, too.
BlazeBoy45 Well said man. I always like seeing other HH players even though there is only a few of us.
It didn't help with capcoms weapon trailer naming HH a " support " weapon. Sure it is , but its powerful aside from that aspect
Bone horn is life
So many fellow doots. I don’t “main” any weapons; I use great sword the most, but I love the HH and use it a lot
Those were some nice doots in the intro. I give you one doot coupon.
Thank you, doot senpai!
MaestroNox Senpai
Sns and doot stick senpai.
MaestroNox I can definitely see you nodding in the corner like "yes, finish your training. And fulfill your Destiny" lol
MH player: I like the longswords, heavy weight but big damage.

Been using the horn for a little while now and was unaware of the quick stab, free note and encore abilities. My hunting party thanks for you improving us even more!
Who allowed this overgrown kazoo to do so much damage??
And Kirin horn to counter tempered Kirin in multiplayer. No more OHKO.
Nice
I love this comment section. You guys all are hella respectful even of each other's opinions.
Jabbing fun at each other and what not.
And then since the purple note also ends the Attack Up L song, it counts toward the beginning of the Defense Up L song and from there I only have to play two blue notes and one final purple note, and just like that with 8 swings I've queued up 3 songs to play.
on ps4, I've literally only ran into 2 HH mains in my entirety of playing (180ish hours so far.)
both had eastern names and were clearly adept with the HH.
Aaaaaaand im back, watched this vid to learn the basics and I never knew I would be a HH main HAHA. Thanks mate!
I know I'm super late but I am actually new to MH. Just started about two weeks. On my solo play I go as Sword And Shield, for my multi-player I play Hunting Horn but have been struggling with learning the mechanics. This is a massive help, thank you.
I love how the Devil Jho HH is literally just a singing Devil Jho head.
I really love the horn. It's definitely in my top 5 weapons, I just never use it, because I need to practice with it a whole lot.
thesamuraiman the HH may be confusing at first, especially if you decided to change to a new horn, because of muscle memory
Your videos are the absolute BEST Arekkz! Never stop what you're doing. I've been watching your tutorials since they came out, and they're absolute perfect to just pick up and watch again when I'm feeling rusty with a certain weapon.
I made my friends moan when I play all wind negated againts Daora. And then I play stamina reduced and they lose their mind.

@@revoplays4964 if i recall it is Xeno masasheena
Just to let you know, your the only channel I ever go out of my way to watch the intros. Nice job.
Frag Mented Its because no anime ever had a hunting horn lmao.
Hey I'm a HH user, do you care to share your armor set up for this? Thanks in advance!
Frag Mented thanks I’m gonna play around with this info.
The very best thing about Hunting Horn in World is the ability to queue multiple songs all at once. This made it super powerful and super useful for both the player and their teammates--cutting down a lot of time on pausing every now and then for reciting songs.
I still ask myself, why exactly do I need to sharpen hammers?
I kinda more see it as cleaning them off, spiked hammers and maces wouldn't work too well with squishy bits covering the spiky bits
Simple so you can better golf swing a monster's head off
@@SoRa-re1yd Umm...
Drill can mean
A. Some kind of instructions or training; "I know the drill" (As in I know the routine, I've been there before and know what I need to do to take care of that appointment today.)
Or
I got hyped when I saw that, out of ALL THE CHANGES, the recital forward makes you stay still. You have no idea how happy I am xD
before I watch this video, I want to comment on how often I go back to your tutorials for weapon use and how useful it has been. freedom unite, I never really used the hunting horn apart from killing the Giadrome. now that the circle+triangle ground slam has a backward 1st slam(using it like a hammer charge 3 stationary), I really don't know how to use it.
I play the horn and know the mechanic you're talking about, but the numbers and letters here are super hard to follow lol.
Im trying to learn the HH because the zinogre HH looks really cool.
Been playing world for over 300h and finally picked up the hh. Had a blast today even though I was doing a lot of wrong things lol. This really cleared things up, thanks. Can’t wait for tomorrow to try again.
HH: You're a bard... but like... a warrior bard.
You are simply amazing at making guides.
guess its time to learn HH, amazing to watch Canta's HH only playthrough
I don't play the hunting horn but it was fun to watch. I have immense respect for people who play the hunting horn well. They may be few in numbers but when they join my hunting party I always get a little smile on my face
Guess its time to play HH now I cant make up the excuse that I dont know its moves 🤔
Safe fights hunters, and may the bass be with you.
This horn is awesome my mew favorite weapon type its had me tootin all afternoon thx
i love how the character dances in place while holding the weapon. its a nice a little detail.

it is a big ass hammer that you can play sick tunes on
i have abosolutely no idea what this serie's lore is about, but the title sounds self-explanatory and the weapon looks pretty rad too. sign me the FUCK up
Best weapon in game not only can you beat down a monster with a musical instrument, you can also it a soothing song while your beating it down.
Joseph B. Literally the reason why I chose the HH as my main weapon
And if you kill the monster, you can play a song to not only celebrate your victory, but it can also be a funeral song for the monster you killed. It’s great.
Xeno's Sunset
Yep pretty much. 🤣
Ahh, the weapon I was anticipating the most. Thanks for teaching me how to actually use the didgeri-drums thing.

after 2 years im back to monster hunter world so now I have to figure out how to play my fav weapon again
Remember the time that you need to memorize those notes in mhfu
Joey Gapud having to press R+notes+R cause normal hits don't produce notes
Oh man I had a cheatsheet always with me to keep an eye on all the songs of the horn, I skipped straight from MHFU to MHW and I was soooo glad to see all the improvements
You play hunting horn the way i dream of playing it! You’ve just given me motivation to really work on it. Thank you Arrekz as usual!
Imagine being a big a-s intimidating monster and then you just get clapped by a man with a horn.
Honestly this makes me wanna use the horn more than i usually. The last 2 vids helped me learn a few things i didn't know, but i usually main the CB. Thanks for the vids cover 6 outta the 12 weapons i use.
I only play offline. Is the horn still a viable main in single player?
I'm sure you know by now, but yes, with its self buff potential the hunting horn is perhaps one of the most viable single player weapons. A few buffs later and you're basically god.
All I can say is a fully respect people who use HH to master this is incredibly rewarding to see when someone has and is just buffing you and shitting on the monster at the same time, true unsung hero of the hunt.
Arekkz : "It's a pretty easy weapon to use." My brain after five minute of the video "LALALALALALALAAAAA"
I've probably watched this 4-5 times. it's like an alien weapon to me. he says it's not complicated but my mind can't wrap around it.
2nd to last of these weapon series. We're a Unicorn race.
Is that necessarily bad? That just makes us more special IMO. 😇
We do not care
as a new player to this game i chose this weapon as a meme and i feel in deep love with it and i’m saying this with great love and saying that this video was very helpful
ahh we finally getting to monsters hunter's REAL weapon lol
I'm trying to play the Hunting Horn, but man... i'm having 0 fun atm, i feel like i can't attack freely without thinking about queuing song for some good encore damage, my eyes are most of the fight looking top right lmao. But you know what, this weapon deserve love, and i'm not going to quit and go back to the Longsword.
“The hunting horn is a support weapon.”
...hunting horn? You mean death bagpipe? The buffs are for the user.
My 2 friends and i decided to play a 3 hunting horn team and sos one random guy in for lols.. the fight was glorious with so many types of buffs xD. It was so fun to see and hear so many melody
You would be using that damn armour
I think you missed one small thing. If the last note of a song is the same as the first in the next song you don't need to input it twice. So for your Deviljho horn for instance, you can play Health boost>atk up>def up in that order skipping two triangle inputs.
PRAISE THE HORN!
Fantastic video.
There was one trick that wasn't mentioned though. The last note of a song can contribute to the first note of the next song.
For example, if I wanted the first 3 songs shown in this video, I could use:
Blue Blue Red (Wind Pressure Negated)
Blue Red Purple (Health Boost, first note skipped)
Red Blue Purple (Attack Up, first note skipped)
Not a big difference, but it can mean getting songs lined up a little faster.
A nice, unique weapon, but I’d never trade my Great Sword for it.
Yeah, Id rather go for carrying the team. Rather than having the team carry me.
