I sorta agree with what you said about motors, but I gotta say, the cast iron bore 400cc flathead briggs are the most durable motor I've ever come across. I've owned 3 or 4, and all have ran at about 6 to 7k redline rpm. Never had a single one blow lol. Great video
is there a kit that doesn't sacrifice the actuall blades? I know I never will need my whole 15 hp out of 20 to mowe grass. But i still want to have the fun of the speeds of that horsepowers that I could pull out of it... If there is not that what would be a simple to reattach method?

I’m currently building one out of a very similar mower. The pulley on top of the trans axle is originally a splined pulley, but I saw you put on a keyed pulley. How did you do that and what is keeping the new pulley from spinning? Also a link to the pulley that you use on top of the trans axle would be great. Thanks man.

Hey ur right, the flatheads busted on me 2 or 3 times, but never busted the single cylinder 1's, even with no govoner... My bk pulley was 3in my front was 7in, with a 6 spd, but was missing 6th & 5th...ha
I would LOVE to see a bigger fuel tank on it and a custom body on it (like a small mobility scooter car body). Lighter gears and with a bicycle style trailer to strap down a back pack. than a trip across country. thats my plan with my little green machine.

power is not the issue ! the problem is its belt driven so the belt will slip before the tires loose traction for a burnout !

the hose on the bottom is just a fuel over flow ! nothing important and try to find some carburator rubber boots on amazon its like 15$
