Four different species of Barn owl and how stunning they are - Which is your favourite?

Most people aren't aware that there are multiple different types of barn owl - 16 species and 22 races! The size and shape is very similar, however the colour can vary massively. In this video, Ryan shows four different species of barn owl - The common barn owl, the American barn owl, the Dark breasted barn owl and the Ashy faced owl.

I've met both a melanistic barn owl, but also a leucistic barn owl as well.

One of my favorite owls, I saw one yesterday in North Carolina on the ground eating a snack on the side of a small country roadway. The dark fallen leaves gave good camouflage but that cute white face caught my attention!

Do you have the melanistic Tawny Owls in the UK ? I saw a video of one ( Russia.)

As far as I aware we don't but it is possible, I'll look into that
