Can I recommend the Council Of Geeks. They are very critical of Doctor Who- but it CLEARLY comes from a place of love and Fandom. They have a lot of valid points to thier critique, many of which I often disagree with and that's why I watch. Because they are one of the only UA-camrs I see who are critical of Who were it doesn't come from close-minded bigotry. And I love it when I agree with them. Alternatively when I watch these hate channels and the anti-wokers say something that I might actually connect with or even agree with, I feel like I need a shower afterward.
That just makes you extremely childish. You hate agreeing with anti-woke people because you're too dense to see beyond your awful ideology. Have you ever tried not being a man-child? Or learning how to spell *Super?
Totally second this recommendation. Probably the only channel I regularly watch regarding Doctor Who content. It's nice to be able to see someone discuss their own viewpoint while clearly being an actually intelligent person capable of recognizing nuance. To me, the real reason to watch or listen to what other people think about a piece of media is to be able to analyze - and therefore appreciate - that media from a new perspective, and you really don't get that from bigots pushing their "anti-woke" narrative for money.
I am a 60 year old Classic Who fan, born in Derby, England. I have no wish to insult. Classic Who and I grew up together. You missed the best years to be a fan. No insult or condescension. Doctor Who isn't made for me now. I have moved on with my collection, which is here in Florida with me. You don't have to be a fan of what is to be a fan of what was. I am totally cool with that. We all have our time. I wish you all the best.
I just started my first time going through Classic Who, I only finished the, An unearthly child serial. It's hard to get use to the serial format. What I've seen in Classic it still to me seams the same as in New Who, and #NewNewWho and I don't dislike the now 3 eras of Doctor Who. I'm also like what's the point of going through Classic Who not because I don't like it, but because you can't see all of it with the missing episodes.
Well said. Classic Who was before my time but I was a big fan of the series revival for a number of years. Started to lose interest early in the Capaldi era but every time we got a big change in the series I've watched for a bit again to see if I can regain my love for the show. I don't want to hate it, every time I watch I genuinely hope that I can love it as much as I used to, but I just can't. I love Jodie Whittaker, I love Ncuti Gatwa, I think that they've both done a fantastic job in the role, I just cannot get past the writing. Even the new Tennant episodes were a struggle for me and he was my favorite Doctor. I'm not going to sit and trash the show or demean anyone who does enjoy it, I'm just going to make peace with the fact that it's no longer the show that I loved and look back fondly on the years that it was.
I have to sincerely salute you, sir, because you managed to decide not to watch modern Doctor Who with maturity and acceptance. If only more people would act like you, people wouldn't have this kind of discourse.
Nerdrotic says Doctor Who is imposing it's political agenda onto its viewers, saying thats wrong, before promptly doing it himself. His genuine belief in his own hypocrisy is just a joke.
Difference being Nerdrotics is Nerdrotics, you know what to expect. Doctor Who though has changed over the years and is clearly trying to groom children with over sexualised material.
He never said it's wrong, just that he disagrees with the progressive nonsense and that the writing and everything else is suffering, which it is. Please be honest.
I do not mine people not liking Doctor Who. What I do Mind is that they say it's trash and say they are leaving the franchise, but after the next season airs there back trashing it again.
I know people who test and review cars , good cars and bad cars it's their job . These youtube make a living reviewing Sci - Fi etc good and bad . Get it ? Got it ? OK .
I don't mind those fans who drop off the show because they don't like it anymore. It happened part way through Smith's era. And then there was a bigger drop a series into Capaldi's era. The difference with those guys was, they dropped the show, and just forgot about it. These guys hate the show, and continue to watch and fuel their own hatred by getting others to join in on the hate. So bizarre.
Yeah, how dare they be indignant that a show they once loved, and has been a big part of their lives, is being ruined by progressive stupidity. If you can't understand why they find it hard to quit then you're a bit dense.
@@sopronunciareglignocchi7255 they fuel their own cycle of hatred though. If it's a show they love, then they should know to be open about every new era and Doctor. Part of the whole show's identity is change. And if an era isn't for you (Smith and Whittaker for me) then just hold out and be open for the next one that comes along. That's if you "love it so much". These guys were hating and Whittaker before she was actually in the show - already calling the end before her first line! That is not a true fan, at least, not someone who has followed what the show has always promoted. And "progressive stupidity"? You say "progressive" as if it's an insult.
@@mahfuzurchowdhury2765 Progressive is an insult and they criticised the casting (and rightly so). They also criticised the advertising and all the quotes coming out from interviews. To try and pretend that they were blindly being negative is wholly dishonest.
@@sopronunciareglignocchi7255 yes, they "criticised" the casting, but for what reason? Just having the Doctor be woman, or the Doctor being black, does not automatically mean the show is now over. The Doctor's character is not inherently a white male. At least modern interpretations, there is no clear way to say "this" or "this isn't" the Doctor. Also, do you know what the word "progressive" means?
@@mahfuzurchowdhury2765 Yes I know what progressive means, as in the political sense. They didn't just criticise the casting based on immutable characteristics. However, yes the Doctor should be a white male because that's how he was designed and he's rooted in the British identity and culture.
I mean I'm not totally disagreeing with you but considering his tenure only last 2 years and after his successor the show was cancelled for 16 of those 37 years, that's not really a good example.
@@daviddreyton8586 Wokeness is fad. I am Gen-X. I watched The Tom Baker years with my Silent Generation Aunt. There are enough of us who want to straight, white Dr. (or black but not over the top). Sean Pertwee is an actor & looks like his Dad. Maybe someday..... I will watch the classics & cross my fingers.
I did not the like the Space Babies and liked Devil's Chord but saying Doctor Who is dead is taking it too far. These people are dismissing people who do like it by saying they are not real fans. Is it wrong to like the new Doctor Who. Aside from the Space Babies, I have been liking the new era.
I agree Space Babies was not great, I think it worked okayish, but Devil's Chord was pretty cool Imo, I love the performance from Jinkx. Boom is even better and 73 yards might be a new classic if RTD is right
I consider people that say Doctor who is dead the same I do as people that say Jesus is returning soon. They've been saying it so long and yet nothing.
I've liked all the new new era, so far. And guess what? I started with Pertwee and Sarah Jane Smith. Anyone who says I'm not a true fan can fuck off. (Yes, I hated Chibnall's Era. His advice to Jodie to not watch any previous doctors was a huge fuckup too, but it's his writing that was the worst part. She might've been good without him in charge)
Doctor Who had politics but it wasn't forced. You were never told how you were supposed to feel. The End started when Missy was introduced as The Master. Tennant was never a gay Docter before The Star Beast
Every. Single. One. Of these anti-woke channels are the cancer of youtube. And I dont like either side, but my reasoning isnt for any political stance or social stance. I just find it freaking annoying. Its constant bickering and complaining. Then they go and review bomb shit with the same "the message" quote. And i'm sick of seeing that comment every single effing time. It ruins entertainment. People are not allowed to enjoy it, cause they butt into everything. They are the exact same thing they claim to be against.
What’s worse is that some of them will do the same thing to shows like the new Fallout series that aren’t even explicitly “woke”, and their only enjoyment comes from hating something unreasonably.
@@dasmysteryman12 You wanna know the funny thing about that. Some of them did that weeks before the launch. And once the series released, they completely 180'd and posted praise about it like they didnt just bash it for several weeks. Complete tools.
So they're cancerous because they share a negative opinion of it? Are you brain-dead? All they do is criticise things they don't like and explain why - they don't orchestrate review bombings as you've just lied. They merely show the ratings as proof that their opinions aren't solitary.
They dont ignore it, they just take a few sentences out of context and cry about how woke it is, whatever woke means in their rotted brains, or nitpick things that they wouldnt criticize in "better" episodes
@@tenhayz1889 Prediction: A lot of people making criticism of the episode didn't actually take the time to watch it, just read or listened to a summary of the episode to get their talking points.

I never understand people going on about DW being woke, sci-fi is inherently progressive and political as a genre and you will struggle to find many pieces of sci-fi media that don't have some political leaning
I mean, just look at War of the Worlds, Brave New World, 1984! These three classics of sci-fi alone are some of the most political ones out there! Then we have Star Trek that has always been political, as has Doctor Who! Star Wars was inspired by an anti-Vietnam-war sentiment!
@@Lia-zw1ls7tz7o War of the wolds was written in the 1800s...it actually sparked a lot of scientific discoveries trying to match technology it described. Our cell phones were given rudimentary form. It was also suddenly aired on radio broadcast like actual news and people thought it was real. This was small scale, but it also shows you how involved people can get in a story. Doctor Who since Jodi has...bitched about doing stupid shit that anyone could of saw coming, berating half of the population, targeting the very people who make the show possible, discrediting the entirity of the franchise up until Jodi's era, and just saying "FU Males! Also, our mega queen was a male, but she's better cuz she's no longer a male." I think i see a difference in story telling.
@@raiblast How small-minded must you be to view the sheer presence of a female lead to mean „FU males!“??? Yes, Jodie’s era does have flaws but it’s definitely not having a female lead. And what is that „stupid shit that anyone could of saw coming“? Also, targeting the very people who make this show possible? Who’s that supposed to be? Men? You do realize the hat there are plenty of women involved in the production, right?
The viewing figures proves them correct and you wrong Even gay and trans people say doctor who is pathetic now Funny isn't, i belive it should be a human right that we all get to express our opinions, positive and negative. And yet your fans would like people silenced. Sad.
I am a long-time Whovian. Doctor Who is my favourite TV show and it's one of the reasons why I love fantasy and science fiction in general. David Tennant is my favourite Doctor Who and Karen Gillan is my favourite companion, and my favourite aliens/robots are the Cybermen, and I also like the Ood. When Jodie Whittaker was announced as The Doctor back in 2017, I was so mixed on it. My concerns about The Doctor becoming a woman were that it may not work and that it could ruin Doctor Who. The Jodie Whittaker/Chris Chibnall of Doctor Who was terrible. Jodie Whittaker was the worst Doctor Who ever. She really didn't suit the role and the 13th Doctor was poorly written. All of Jodie Whittaker's episodes apart from Power of the Doctor were so bad. The Timeless Children was without a doubt, the worst ever episode of Doctor Who. Because of it, I passed on Series 13. I recently watched all the 60th anniversary specials and I enjoyed them. The Star Beast was good, not great. Wild Blue Yonder was great. The Giggle was good, and The Church on Ruby Road was surprisingly good. Ncuti Gatwa so far hasn't been too bad as The Doctor, and he has great chemistry with Millie Gibson. When I first heard about Ncuti Gatwa, I thought he could bring something new to Doctor Who. Doctor Who is a TV show that's not for everyone and maybe there are UA-camrs and people who really don't understand Doctor Who and have to go be negative about it. People are entitled to their own opinion. If you don't like Doctor Who, then don't watch it. Not fair for them to go and call people and fans of Doctor Who "idiots". I am giving new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa a fair chance. Is Doctor Who a show that is worth still worthing? Best watch the new series of Doctor Who on Disney+ and decide for yourself.
Funny how as soon as you make a video like this, fans of those channels you dislike magically appear to tell you you're wrong. it's almost like they're being told to.
@@JoeTheUberGeek I can see that accounting for some of it, but there's so much doctor who content out there. Unless you're saying that nerdrotic and bowlstrek fans are being recommended the video because they're mentioned, and if that's true, then the algorithm needs tweaking.
You are spot on about Boles trek (I've seen the odd bit of Nerd rotic and I'm not really familiar with the others). He doesn't review , just rants , and clearly it panders to an audience. It's interesting to see that his early videos are nothing like this, he clearly hit on shouting the loudest about "wokery" and found it got him a following. Personally I wasn't a fan of Jodie's run , but not because it was "woke", and I did commengt a few times on his channel but he revealed his hand in his non-review of Demons of the Punjab where he admitted he hadn't properly watched it, misinterpreted what it was about regardless, and then started spouting racist conspiracy theories. He's a grifter, he isn't worth bothering with.
The problem with Jodie's run was Chibnail. I loved her as the Doctor, she did a great job in how she portrayed the character. It's just a pity that the writing for her era was some of the worst writing Doctor Who has had since the show returned. The problem is that a lot of ... people blame it on her, when chibnail would have been just as bad with any other actor, regardless of gender, playing the Doctor.
Sorry. But I don't think that the show is anywhere near as good as it used to be. Yes the TV landscape has changed, but the trend shows viewers are leaving and that shouldn't be ignored. I started watching as a kid with William Hartnell. My Doctor was Patrick Troughton. But when Eccleston brought the Doctor back I thought the new format was great and thoroughly enjoyed Tennent, Smith and Capaldi, all different but all the Doctor. I looked forward to the first female Doctor and watched all of Jodie's run, but was more and more disappointed. When Ncuti was announced I really wanted to see what he brought to the role. Unfortunately the show has become preachy and a platform for LGBTQ+ messaging which gets in the way of good SciFi entertainment. So I am guessing that this is why people are complaining about the new series. Before anyone points the finger at me and shouts Homophobe, Transphobe or bigot. I'd just like to say, that I have friends who are Lesbian and Trans, and have no issue with anybody's sexuality. But I do not feel that it needs to be preached in a family entertainment show such as Dr Who. Yes Dr Who has always had messages in the storylines, but cleverly and subtly. The messages are shouted out at you in the current series and it is unpleasant and far from entertaining.
I didnt enjoy jodies erra, but i beleived she could of been a great doctor, but chriss chibnal went too big storywise and fell too far. He didnt develop the companions well or the doctor well. They gave the show to someone who writes filler episodes. There were episodes i liked. Paraxius and rosa.
That explains why the idiots who make this trash always resort to screaming ist words at people for having the audacity to say the show is dumb because the writing is straight up garbage
I clicked on this video by chance and I have to say I agree with everything you say. I've only heard of Nerdrotick however it's spelt. I would have included the Rabbi to be honest. I'm a trans woman and I know plenty of people out there hate everything about me (and they're entitled to their views), but as great as it was to have recognition and representation I think the trans element in the 60th specials were a bit clumsy and over the top. I don't enjoy the Chibnall era but it's not because of Jodie, it came down to the writing for me. When Ncuti was announced I checked out Sex Education and for a supporting actor he stole every scene, I'm overjoyed that he's the Doctor because he's a fantastic actor.
It takes a lot to admit that your views in the past were wrong. Something these UA-camrs will never do. Hopefully the saddos won't harass you for this video. And if they do, who cares what they think! You're a likeable person who isnt a hateful weirdo, they're just jealous.
The thing is they literally can't admit to being wrong, ever, even if they wanted to. Their audience is an outrage train that needs to keep being given fuel, and if they stopped or had a moment of introspection even for just one second, they would lose their audience.
Trouble with the Doctor Who fandom these days is a title such as this could be a video made by raging bigots who can't tolerate ordinary fans enjoying the show - or it could be a fair critique of raging bigots! Glad I risked clicking the link!
My dad's never kept up with Dr Who as such. I showed him a trailer for the Ncuti series, his eyes widened and he said "I'm watching that! When does it start?!" ...HE'S 89 ffs!

I just hate how a lot of people are rage baiting for the views. A lot of these people couldn’t care less about the show and just want people giving them views. I also hate how these videos are making normal people not want to watch the show. A lot of people will hear “doctor who is bad now” and just accept it as a fact.
don't be gaslit into thinking everything you said in this wasn't a totally normal response to the videos you've seen. Most people have the same response to the youtubers that you pointed out
I was literally calling out every one of those UA-camrs before you said them! I agree 100%. I’ve been a fan of Doctor Who since the 70s and I’m an American. Do I like all the new episodes? No. But the show has to attract new audience to survive. It is not “my show“, so I enjoy the episodes that I enjoy, and the ones that I don’t I scratch off my rewatch list.

I did not like Chibnall's era for lots of reasons none of which had to do with a female Doctor. The dialogue from Rose and Donna at the end of the Star Beast was imo a double standard. Yet these are just opinions and the latter just on a two minute section of an episode. I may or may not enjoy the new era. After all we do age and throughout our lives we have our favourite moments and that can include tv shows. Those who enjoy this new era may not like DW if it is screening in another thirty years. To use my favourite line in DW from my personal favourite Doctor, '...."We are all different people all through our lives, and that's okay, that's good. You've got to keep moving so long as you remember all the people that you used to be.' Yet moving forward does not mean you have to like everything but equally one has to accept change and that for others it is a blessing.
Agreed. I did not like much of the 13th Doctor's time in the Tardis as I really don't like Chris Chibnall's writing, but it doesn't mean I will go and make pictures on thumbnails of videos with Jodie and googly eyes and continuously call her 'The first female Doctor' in an ironic way. Honestly as soon as I see a Dr Who channel with Woke in its title or 'The Message' I know not to look at it.
I think the show has fallen off a cliff in recent years. The writing has become very poor. I stopped watching after Jodie’s second season and even then I was going weeks or even months at a time between watching episodes. Aside from the poor writing, I think it’s impossible to refute that they’ve gone overboard with divisive identity politics in recent times. The ratings have been declining for a reason.
On the flipside, we have another great Doctor Who UA-camr out there: MrTardis, who, beyond doing some great takes on various Doctor Who media, also has fun reacting to terrible Doctor Who UA-camrs. I wonder if you'd be willing to share a livestream together?
I would love to know who watches Doctor Who for the political content. I never did. If I want politics I will watch the news programmes. I want escapism and always got it until now. I am old enough to have watched from the beginning, and no one watched for the politics, if it was political, we missed that as young children, and rightly so. I am glad you began with the words ‘this is my opinion only’, and now you have mine.
Thanks for calling out these bigots. It's not a fair argument if you just make antisemitic or racist or transphobic or homophobic comments the entire time.
okay, im trying to be as fair and open minded watching this. But that is made so much more difficult when the reviewer in question only looks at the serface level of these channels without actually listening to the points they have to make. If you actually watch some of these channels, like nerdrotic, and actually listen to their points. Often times they'll point out (like me and many others have) that we don't care what race gender and so on the doctor is, as long as they can do the role justice. Then they'll often go on to discuss the certain issues they have with performance or the episode or the writing. And often times it's fairly constructive. Now, to be fair, i can only speak to the channels I've watched on this list. The others, for all i know, he could have a perfectly valid point on. But as I've not watched those, i can't speak to that. As for people using the "they say doctor who is woke so they don't like it, but it's always been woke" accept, they didn't say that, or at least they didn't if you don't take it severely out of context. What they actually point out is that doctor who, while it used to make political points and would do it with tact and well written, in recent years it's been less tactful and more... Rammed down your throat like trying to force feed roadkill down you until you convince yourself it's tasty to cope. Now credit where it's due, i much prefer Ncuti's season so far to jodie's... But something 10% better then trash, still makes it trash. Even if there's some sugar spinkled on top. I respect your disclaimer at the start, and you are entirely correct. Those are just your opinions and you are most certainly entitled to them. In the same way, these are my thoughts too, and i hope regardless of any difference of opinion we may have here, you can share that same sentiment to mine and others as well.
I don’t personally agree with your opinions but please don’t listen to these people that call you names, there dumb internet trolls that can’t separate opinions from the reality of who a person is and you seem like a really awesome guy, keep making videos man you’re great at it 🙌💯
Honestly thank you so much for addressing this! I have only started watching Doctor Who in 2017 with series 5 (Now I've seen all of NuWho and Classic Who seasons 1-14) And yes, I might be the minority that actually didn't mind the 13th Doctor's era. I don't think it's the best, not at all (Orphan 55 amirite?). But I had fun while watching it regardless! And constantly being called insults on the internet (woke idiot, fake fan etc.) just.. felt bad. I've grown up since then and stopped taking things like that to heart. I just really wish I didn't keep going to god damn Nerdrotic for a review and then feeling like shit afterwards. Either way, I would like to highlight the channels Council of Geeks, WhoCulture and the Confused Adipose. I don't always agree with everything they say, but they never made me feel like shit for liking something XD And they generally stray to the positive, which I just prefer to come back to!
oh, and this isnt just a Doctor Who thing, they put the anti-woke on movies,,, movie has a strong female lead....woke. Now I dio think, some studios do things like race and /or gender swapping characters, that I do find annoying, but I can also be ok with it if it doesnt change the story, or like with Spiderman and Miles....Miles and Peter Parker are two different characters from two seperate worlds.
Wokeness is to categorise progressive idiots who call themselves anti-bigots whilst being the most bigoted out of anyone. They're also people who deem their stupidity to be above criticism. Yes John, that's you.
Wokeness IS Bigotry Woke: - Judging, segregating, and categorize people based on race/gender/sexuality - Forcibly suppressing opposition, criticism, and free speech. - Forcibly regimenting all industry and media. Wokeness in Movies: - Writing terrible movies. Then call fans "toxic" if they do not like it - Females are Mary Sue - Males are stupid, and weaker than the female - Male characters being sidelined for a female character - Masculinity is seen as toxic - Stealing white characters. Make non-white act them in Live Action movies Then call those who oppose: "racist"
I accidentally clicked on a Disparu video. After he read a line with "straight white men" in it, he did an aside, "AKA normal people."I admit, I'm not normal. I have red hair and blue eye. That's less than .5% of the population. Oh, and I'm also trans, but there are more trans than the other, so he must be talking about my ginger blue...
Not sure why this video was recommended to me, but you seem a really likeable guy. I used to love Doctor Who but only made it 20 minutes into her first episode. Adults using the word "fam" bit of a eye roll turn off. Saw the trailer of the new Doctor but the passion is gone, don't think it is for me so not watched any
SO glad you're bringing this up. These negative reviews are spoiling everyone's enjoyment of the show. The new season has been written off by so many and not an episode has been broadcast!!! A have a ton of writing criticisms for the show, and I think it died in 2017, but I don’t really care too much for the “woke” stuff. My criticisms all lie in the writing and the scripts etc. it annoys me that people that only complain about the wokeness get in the way of any actual substantive criticism.
And you manage to hold that opinion without going "RIP DOCTOR WHO IT'S GONE WOKE NOW THEY GOT TRANS PEOPLE" every 5 minutes on instagram, presumably, something that seems to elude these fuckers
It did not die in 2017 when Whittaker took over. In fact, the first episode of Series 11 attracted 8M overnight figures and got to consolidated ratings of 10.96M views. Dr who did become bad at the end of Peter Capaldi's eara, still watchable but when jodies eara came in, its bad but there are some barely watchable episodes but now with evidence on Ncuti Gatwas episodes, everyone is quitting doctor who, if you see the official viewing ratings then you see that the viewing figures dropped and now its reached to about 2 million viewers overnight. No doubt that in the cinema releases, it's gonna be lower than 2 million as NOBODY would want to spend extra money to watch something they can watch anytime and watch again without coughing up more of their money.

I'll be honest, I'm not the hugest fan of the recent episodes, but people acting like it's the anti-Christ is just stupid. Ncuti needs a bit of time, that's it. So far, I'm all right with it. It's a bit cringe at times, like the Beetles dance number, but Mystro was a great villain. You also shouldn't be insulted just for liking these new episodes. It's just TV, the right-wing love propagating the idea of propaganda whilst loving to enforce their ideas in their work, (literally look at anything made by Daily Wire.) You can't write something without some kind of political bias, and societal cultural differences.
Some of these guys are so sensitive they send their minions into the comments to harass you lol why are people who think they are part of the 'superior race' so sensitive?
Most of the comments here REALLY don't get it. If you hate something, isn't it best to just avoid it or stop doing it altogether, instead of obsessively, irrationally hating on it even more. It's just not normal human behaviour. As a huge fan, not everything has to revolve around your hobbies, and it shouldn't be the end of the world if you're favourite show has gone "woke", whatever that means anymore.
There’s two reasons why they continue. One, it gets good views. That’s cynical thing to say, sure, but people want to get views on UA-cam. Two, it’s not that they hate the show, rather they hate what it’s become and keep watching and making videos because they want to see it return to form. Personally, I stopped watching after Whitaker’s second season. It was all pretty meh and the show has been in decline from really poor writing since Capaldis era. And yes, undeniably there is an agenda being pushed in this show and the politics are very divisive as shown by the poor ratings in recent years.
Most of the people I follow or know personally agree that the problem with the Jodie Whittaker era wasn't Jodie Whittaker, it was Chris Chibnall. It was thematically all over the place, and often felt rushed and emotionally hollow. The Flux and the Timeless Child arc had to wait for RTD's return to gain any emotional consequences.
I'm gonna be honest Doctor Who died for me when I saw Jodie Whittakers episodes (Maybe it already begun in Capaldis last season), and no, it was not because of her. I hated the timeless child and it's just another thing which just makes no sense for me, just like the war doctor. I don't understand how some fans actually liking and support this stuff. It just makes the character more and more unnecessarily complicated. Someone, I think it was RTD already said it was difficult to write for Doctor who because the doctor is always the smartest person in the room and knows everything. If I'm looking at the early episodes of classic who that wasn't the case at all. The Doctor was usually just as smart as his companions and most of the questions like "Why he left his home planet" got more simple answers like "He was bored and wanted to explore the universe". Now he is basically became space jesus since David Tennant. The new showrunners ruined Doctor Who. Right now I'm just disappointed with what they're doing with this show. They could do so many things with the show, but instead they always repeat everything.
Your opinions are factually correct. I pronounce it to be thus. Oh, except the bit about not liking Series 11 and 12. It's harder to enjoy them, but there's good stuff in there if you focus your mind on it.
7:38 Why do the media shove race this, blackness that, and BLM stuff down our throats then? Every movie and TV series seems to think that an actor's race is the most important thing ever, and constantly brags about how diverse the cast is. Those channels you mentioned, are just holding up a mirror.
"We need to atart respecting each othets opinions" - after youve gone into a diatribe against anyone expressing their opinion in the way that they vhoose to un a free society. You lack logical consistency, dear chap.
I really don't think their fans to begin with. Not in the your different so you aren't a true fan, but in the I've seen your content enough and seen people who actually enjoy the show or know what their talking about to see you don’t actually care enough to be a fan of the show. You're only talking about it because its becoming more present in media again and too many people keep giving you the benefit of the doubt. Playing on one of the fundamental teachings of the show itself inorder to get away with it, then go convince people who are openly trusting to just warp them until they become the opposite of what they enjoyed so much in the first place. Open brainwashing through sheer hate. These 'creators' are daleks with cybermen worth ethics.
Yes? Are you implying that the people he's talking about aren't the ones fueling the 'silly little game' by making stuff up and being openly hateful about everything and just using doctor who or marvel as labels rather than actual criticism on those two things.
@@90sArchive Of course, everyone who disagrees with you is a bigoted creep. Oh, how simple life is when you can just call others evil and completely dimiss any criticism they have. Disgusting.
Oh here we go, the "Doctor Who has always been political" argument. Ok, explain to me how the apartheid allegory that is The Mutants is in anyway similar to say the pronouns scene in the Star Beast?
The reason this argument is popular is because it is true. Yes, in the past, the messages were a little better cloaked, but that's more about how the TV landscape has changed over the years. Barry Letts was openly left-wing and would have dearly loved to have been far more explicit in the messages he was forced to promote through subtlety (he was proud of those moments when he did sneak something through). Sylvester McCoy has said that he was only interested in the role because he saw Doctor Who - both the character and the show - as standing opposed to Thatcher's government. Maybe it's just that today, with a political discourse that is significantly more infantile and less nuanced than in the past, messaging needs to be more overt. There's also a certain haze of nostalgia over all of this - from a modern perspective an anti-apartheid message seems safe and tame; it was much braver at the time when it wasn't such a given that everyone is anti-apartheid. It was doubtless seen as an example of what people like to call "wokeness" today (and have previously called "political correctness") at the time. Most likely, fifty years from now the "pronouns scene" will seem pretty innocuous (as it does to many of us already). Worth noting that even though you've asked for the similarities, I find the differences between your two examples far more illuminating: (1) I'm guessing you agreed with the anti-apartheid message in the Mutants but not so much what was being expressed in the "pronoun scene" (2) The Mutants was criticising another country and culture, the "pronouns scene" can be taken as an attack on our own and is inherently more provocative
@@GrabAStackofRocK Well, there's that... Tempting to cail it paranoia, but I guess there's nothing paranoid about a bigot's genuine fear of being correctly identified as a bigot.
@@chrispalmer7893 The reason it's popular is because it's both true AND disingenuous. You can be "political" in so many ways it's ridiculous. What people are complaining these days is WHAT politics are present and HOW they are handled. It seems Nerdrotic knows far more about what Doctor Who is about than you do if you can't see what he's complaining about. He's spot on with all his criticisms. He's a long term fan who, like most of us, is fed up with Doctor Who now being just a political platform and no longer a well written enjoyable adventure sci-fi show like it used to be. If you can't see how woke the programme is then you need to open your eyes. IMO it's arrogant of you to accuse those who you don't agree with, of not understanding the show, especially, as in Nerdrotic's case, they have probably been watching it far longer than you have.
I don't care if its 'woke' I care about the writing, all he cares about is if it panders to his own political agenda, which it never has speaking as a lifelong Doctor Who fan.
If someone complains about "wokeness" in Doctor Who I truly wonder what they'd get out of the show as a whole.
They're fake fans, who just want to stir up hatred

I'm 59, and it was for sure made for me. But everyone has their own thing, and that is way cool.
I have to sincerely salute you, sir, because you managed to decide not to watch modern Doctor Who with maturity and acceptance. If only more people would act like you, people wouldn't have this kind of discourse.

@404TVfr how's that when his writing was just boring?

Thankyou for making this video. Some of these comments are awful, but you keep it up lad.
Trouble with the Doctor Who fandom these days is a title such as this could be a video made by raging bigots who can't tolerate ordinary fans enjoying the show - or it could be a fair critique of raging bigots! Glad I risked clicking the link!
The complaints are valid.
I quite like your views on Doctor Who. It seems like it lines up with my views on the show too. Would love to see more Doctor Who videos from you.
My dad's never kept up with Dr Who as such. I showed him a trailer for the Ncuti series, his eyes widened and he said "I'm watching that! When does it start?!" ...HE'S 89 ffs!

No, they're negative because of how crap Doctor Who is now. Have you ever bothered to watch their videos? Who am I kidding, a progressive challenging their delusions...
I just hate how a lot of people are rage baiting for the views. A lot of these people couldn’t care less about the show and just want people giving them views.
I also hate how these videos are making normal people not want to watch the show. A lot of people will hear “doctor who is bad now” and just accept it as a fact.
Just like this video. His bigotry is showing.
don't be gaslit into thinking everything you said in this wasn't a totally normal response to the videos you've seen. Most people have the same response to the youtubers that you pointed out

That aged well
I was literally calling out every one of those UA-camrs before you said them!
I hope you do not mind but part of your very balanced, honest and reflective post really struck a chord with me I so strongly agree with. Not only in context of DW but all aspects of human daily life. Thank you for you video. It is superb.

Spot on.
@@gavkennyI completely share your opinion. Cheers.

I have only started watching Doctor Who in 2017 with series 5 (Now I've seen all of NuWho and Classic Who seasons 1-14)
And yes, I might be the minority that actually didn't mind the 13th Doctor's era.
I’d have to recommend dwfan91 for his good-faith discussions, fair and reasoned criticisms, and general good vibes.
oh, and this isnt just a Doctor Who thing, they put the anti-woke on movies,,, movie has a strong female lead....woke. Now I dio think, some studios do things like race and /or gender swapping characters, that I do find annoying, but I can also be ok with it if it doesnt change the story, or like with Spiderman and Miles....Miles and Peter Parker are two different characters from two seperate worlds.
Very happy the algorithm led me to your content. This was a really great video!
It's always nice to meet a fan 👍
"Wokeness" is a derogatory term for being anti-bigotry... it's not entirely surprising that bigots are opposed to the concept.
You are deluded.
Wokeness is to categorise progressive idiots who call themselves anti-bigots whilst being the most bigoted out of anyone. They're also people who deem their stupidity to be above criticism.
Yes John, that's you.
Wokeness IS Bigotry
Woke:
- Judging, segregating, and categorize people based on race/gender/sexuality
- Forcibly suppressing opposition, criticism, and free speech.
- Forcibly regimenting all industry and media.
Wokeness in Movies:
- Writing terrible movies. Then call fans "toxic" if they do not like it
- Females are Mary Sue
- Males are stupid, and weaker than the female
- Male characters being sidelined for a female character
- Masculinity is seen as toxic
- Stealing white characters. Make non-white act them in Live Action movies
Then call those who oppose: "racist"

I mean yes, it was slowly dropping episode to episode but they were still the highest since 2013/14. Realistically, the show "died" (dropping figures even more) in 2020.

Bowlestrek's really early, early videos were actually pretty good because he just talked about his love of Doctor Who. DVDs. The Episodes. The actors. And, most importantly, not many views. Then Jodie Whittaker came along and everything changed for Bowlestrek who turned out to be the biggest bigot in the universe. With, sadly, tons of views from narrow-minded tools.
Guys, if you agree with him, make sure to like this video!
I'm just wondering who any of those people are other than Nerdrotic who is infamous for just being terrible
New Who isn't for me but if you like it then I'm happy for you.
yeah i noticed a trend of Anti Dr Who, like each video thumb nail is like doom and gloom, and how terrible it is, but nice to find channels that are more positive...i mean there is critizing a moment, and just crapping anything, just trying to find something to focus on, the one thing that only proves the series is on a decline or is preachy, or whatever. The real fans will watch cause they like it...and may not like every episode but still watch it. Like when Doctor 13 came about, called it woke, despite it was long established earlier the Doctor could loook like anyone, even have two head or no head. and 11th's reaction after changing, he thought he was a girl at one moment
‘Influenced by politics’ isn’t the same thing as being political propaganda
I agree there. Especially when it is forced heavily
You forgot Rabbi and a certain Irishman. The former in particular is I think the worst out there.
Why? Because he/they tell the truth? Actually, along with Nerdrotic and Type40, they are the best. Honest instead of just toeing the woke, rainbow, hate-mob line. Too many phony fans out there who only watch it because the Doctor is gay, black, trans, or a woman.

Nerdrotic is 54 years old and creates absolute garbage "content" where I'm surprised people bother to watch him.
Great video, deserves loads more views.

The ratings are heavily influenced by false ideas coming from Internet personalities like these UA-camrs.
Bigotry is not valid criticism
Oh here we go, the "Doctor Who has always been political" argument.
Ok, explain to me how the apartheid allegory that is The Mutants is in anyway similar to say the pronouns scene in the Star Beast?
so essentially politics is fine unless its something you disagree with (and btw i find the pronouns scene was handled terribly)
Worth noting that even though you've asked for the similarities, I find the differences between your two examples far more illuminating:
(1) I'm guessing you agreed with the anti-apartheid message in the Mutants but not so much what was being expressed in the "pronoun scene"
(2) The Mutants was criticising another country and culture, the "pronouns scene" can be taken as an attack on our own and is inherently more provocative
Pronouns and mutants are both scary to the weak?
@@GrabAStackofRocK Well, there's that... Tempting to cail it paranoia, but I guess there's nothing paranoid about a bigot's genuine fear of being correctly identified as a bigot.
@@chrispalmer7893 The reason it's popular is because it's both true AND disingenuous. You can be "political" in so many ways it's ridiculous. What people are complaining these days is WHAT politics are present and HOW they are handled. But that can never be admitted by the defenders of the current run because that would take an argument from them.
If race isn't important why are so many articles introducing Ncuti Gatwa as the first black Doctor Who, instead of introducing him as award winning actor Ncuti Gatwa?

You acknowledge that people were calling fans racist if they didn't like the last doctor and had legitimate issues with the shows quality, then downplay that aspect of the community and creators while labeling clownfish as one of the worst DW UA-camrs because...checks notes...they don't provide what you think are accurate viewer numbers. Seems rational
It's toxic to attempt to gate keep, and you gatekeep while calling out toxicity. Yes it's just your opinion, but your opinion is a toxic element in the fandom. And no, you do not fight toxicity with toxicity, or racism with racism, or sexism with sexism. You don't perpetrate the behavior you dislike, you be the change you want to see in the world
Thanks for this. I can't understand spending your life this miserable, and trying to make others as unhappy as they are.
We aren't the ones deliberately setting out to destroy quality and beloved TV shows..... thats you people.
@@rnw2739The best to to kill a tv show is to keep doing the same thing over and over.. Can't keep living in the past little fella.
@pandaphil Dr Who never did the same thing over and over again, senile little man.
@@rnw2739 Who's "you people"?
I agree with you 100% on these toxic UA-camrs. Particularly the vile content spewed by Nerdrotic and Bowelstreak. It’s all about click baiting and appealing to the lowest common denominator. I recently stopped following a contributor simply because they invited Nerdrotic on their show. They won’t miss me, but if everyone stuck to their principles and did the same, they’d notice! My message is don’t even click on a contributor with whom you fundamentally disagree otherwise you’re giving them what they crave - attention! 💙➕🔷
Neither of those guys are toxic. They just prefer to be honest and funny.
Nah he makes the same comment over and over like he thinks Eric Cartman from south park is in the right in the pmaderverse special
