my dad was a friend of Dylan, Dylan was severely bullied, and my dad beat up his bullies a couple times he said he was a nice kid, but he was pushed over the edge. Edit: according to my dad how he describes them is completely incorrect yes, they were smart but what caused them to perform the shooting was bullying, not being psychopathic or having a dark humor.

Went to middle school from 2006-2008. I started school just after Columbine. Graduated 2011. We always had lockdown drills, fire drills. We did drills every 2-3 months. I was 13 when Columbine happened and in middle school. We had a group of kids that hunted deer, turkey hunters. They usually had weapons because they would hunt before class, they brought deer to school. When Columbine was announced the guy in the Pa said all weapons were no longer allowed on campus and the hunters took them home. We never thought that level of violence was possible before it happened.

So i live near VT and UVA last year there was a school shooting and basically what happened was a history class went to DC and when they arrived back to campus some football players in the class started getting in a argument and then some kid pulls out a gun and shoots four football players and one girl. Three of them where dead only the girl and one of the football players died. Then he went to Richmond,VA to visit his grandma. So we didn’t have school and nobody told me what happened so I was confused y we didn’t have school. My parents told me that it was a teacher work day thing cuz i was Eight. And then i went to play with my friend at the park and she told me.

I was a student at Perm State University at the time, just starting my first year of uni. I was getting ready to leave for classes (we usually started at 13.30 and it was about 11.30-12.00) when my mom's friend called me saying there's a shooting going on right now. I remember thinking it was a joke because it never happens here and being anxious about possibly missing class. After the tragedy we only had online classes for about 6 months and the school started doing active shooter trainings and drills.

My mom and sister were in Canada before the US and were supposed to arrive in the US on April 17, the day after it happened. But their visas were delayed, resulting in my birth in Toronto when I should’ve been born in Manhattan and we didn’t get to the US until June 2008 and I was already a year old at that point. To this day, my mom strongly believes that the shooting was why our visas were delayed and pushed back for over a year and it makes her angry. I still think about how much easier my life would be if I was born in the states.

As an adult, every day i wish that stuff like this wouldn't happen anymore because it's just...heartbreaking, devastating, and horrible to see.
