This is one of my favs encounters from the books. Especially when REN realizes that Rey was no longer the same girl he had originally met onnSLB. It’s one of the things I love about Rey she learns from her mistakes and course corrects. If Ren had accepted this and not given into emotions and ego , he would have been gentler with her and might have persuaded her to join him . Instead of insulting her with you’re nothing- thereby pushing her away.
A lot of fans have pointed out that the "you come from nothing, you're nothing but not to me" is pretty much the mr Darcy proposal from Pride And Prejudice. In Ben/Kylo's he probably doesn't have much experience with women.

Hate to say it but the hint that she’s a Palpatine was there. They should’ve just said it in TLJ instead of waiting for TROS. god this trilogy was a mess. Ben/ Kylo was the reason I loved it so much. Why did they have to kill him?! I didn’t care about Reylo but Ben was my boy. 🥺💕
I think it’s pretty clear she wasn’t Rey Palpatine till TROS...it really stampeded all over TLJ’s growing up journey for Rey. Yeah Ben has broken so many hearts! Disney will bring him back eventually...but not for ages, I reckon 😔

In that scene when Rey and Ben were in the elevator scene, that was the only moment they can kiss.
They came close, but as Isobel Duncan says above he killed the mood by talking about her parents 😂
