Zaynabs steak, and brads shrimp look like dinner to me. So good!
I’ve been cooking steaks in cast iron for about 5 years and have learned it’s the ONLY way to cook it. It adds a nice crust.
Zaynab seems so considerate and down to earth… like I know that dish will punch above its weight, be impressive and tasty YET it looks relatively simple to put together. Not a ton of ingredients either. 0 pretentiousness. She’s like the really intelligent person who can explain complex ideas simply. She’s doing that but with food.
Brad: Get the best shrimp you can afford.
Brad: Dumps $50 worth of veg and spice into a pot just to boil shrimp for 2 mins.

I've been looking for a diffrent trial mix recipe to have with drinks when friends come over. That trailmix recipe looks absolutely perfect. Definitely gonna be making that!
Zaynab’s recipe looks good enough to scale down, make enough for one, and have for dinner on the couch with a glass of red wine and a movie, especially if you’re cutting back on carbohydrates 💡

Good housekeeping cocktail sauce 1960’s used chili sauce. Grew up on it. It is a game changer
Same. Heinz Chili Sauce has been a staple in our family since I was a child. Great on beans with cornbread.
Heinz Chili sauce is a must glazed on meatloaf before it's cooked.

Was thinking the same… bourbon or rye is traditional, orange/citrus doesn’t really go with the smoke and wood of a scotch.
That was cognac, not scotch.

@@JCNY718 A traditional old fashioned is with rye or bourbon yes, but citrus definitely does go with scotch. An islay old fashioned is delightful, you should try it. Plus there is plenty of non-smoky unpeated scotch that has similar sweet and spicy notes to rye, some speysides make a great sub

Heres the BUT: The pain i felt, when you poured this excellent XO in the sugar was immeasureable.
Most important thing when making cocktail sauce is to squeeze that lemon and strain it into the dish over your bandaid. It adds that special ‘je ne sais quoi’😅
