Did Portugal go through a phase where they used lead paint? When Kalie mentioned knocking down walls, I reflected how we need permits to do stuff like that due to the lead in the US, depending on municipality. Do they test for asbestos pipe wrapping and radon gas with these old buildings?
In Portugal, as in all countries in the world, lead paints were manufactured in the past, but this type of paint was never used in homes, paints used in homes in Portugal have always been water-based paints, asbestos is quite rare in homes. in Portugal , because the houses here are in masonry, with pillars and concrete slab , there may be asbestos in old office buildings, the new buildings have the tubes insulated with neoprene foam, when that is the case, the old buildings do not have any insulation in the tubes, it must not be forgotten that the Construction in Portugal has nothing to do with what is in the USA, in Portugal all the internal walls of houses are in masonry.

Right?!?! We bought a renovated T2 in Figueira da Foz for €81,500 and feel lucky! It's no Lisbon but that's kind of what we love about it.
It’s high price . So how much for condominium Maintence??? It’s another expense that should be counted!
It's a premium location, it's not for the middle class it's for the rich, what's the price per square foot in Manhattan-New York?!😀
Yes unfortunately prices are way too high in Lisbon because those properties were designed to be sold to foreigners but now that the golden visa program is over, prices are going to come down since very few people are willing to pay those kind of outrageous prices for Lisbon, the poorest country in Europe.

Who are those local real estate and renovation people? Are these units just examples they have been working on? I looked for their names in your description and couldn’t find it. Have you filmed with them before?

Hi everyone, this is a question for everyone who is looking to be there long term. Does that 48% tax rate scare you? I know that you're good under that special rate for a decade but after that you get hit pretty hard. I still want to go but having to pay a 48% tax rate for income great that 80K is nooo buenoooo.
Yes, Wendy. It scares us. 100%. We plan to continue to earn money as we're relatively young still. We hope to increase our earns as well so....you know. We will plan accordingly from now until our 10 years is up but yes, the rate is scary. - Josh & Kalie

😁 We surveyed the landscape and saw that this kind of content wasn't be created in Lisbon so spent a whole month filming stuff and we're just now getting it all edited and uploaded. In fairness, the windows were open which is why it was so audible although in some apartments it's like that. The dog was outside and not in the apartment building. - Josh & Kalie
Unfortunately it happens a lot. I have one crying non stop above my head.. Portuguese don't seem to mind about the noise level at all time !
