Great video Tom. I should try West Lakes out sometime. Just a bit for though without another reason to go. You will crack the thousand mate no worries.
Hey mate, I’m a keen bream fisherman but I’ve only ever caught them on bait. Done a ton of fishing up around lakes in Victoria fishing for bream and perch up the river and the channel are my favourite spots. I want to learn how to use lures for mainly fishing around my local river just down from my house fishing off the bank but once I gain some confidence I can’t wait to start throwing some at Lakes too! I have bought a few lures such as the double clutch, and z man grubs. What would be a good couple of lures you would reccomend for a beginner like me? Also could you describe the actions used and how deep to throw them etc? Sorry for the long comment. Keep up the good work mate 👍
Not a problem at all mate! My apologies for the delayed reply- your comment was displayed in my ‘reviewed’ box lol! In regards to your question, I honestly couldn’t recommend any better lures to start off fishing with then the ones you have described! If you’re after an alternative, I have done quite well in the past on the squidgies Bio Tough 100mm Wriggler in Bloodworm, match that with either a 1/16th or 1/20th jig head and you’re off to a winner! Hope this can guide you in the right direction mate!😊
Caught a massive one 2 days ago at west lakes, used bait tho, they must love prawns haha

Hey mate! In this video, I am running a Samaki Zing gen ll 2-6lb with 5lb braid and a 2000 sized reel.
Thanks Tom for telling me and replying very quick
@@bdbfortnite1967 No problem!
Do you need a shorter rod for surface fishing will 7ft be alright good vid thanks
Never mind I found it in another vid 😂
Not a problem at all mate, thank you!
I live in west lakes were is this
Hey mate, this is towards the outlet, however surface breaming can be done virtually anywhere in West Lakes!
Thanks mate
Hey mate are you using Mono as a leader?
Hey Daniel, 4lb fluorocarbon if I can recall!
@@TomsFishinAdventures Ah ok interesting always thought you had to use mono for surface fishing, as mono floats and flurocarbon sinks.
@@TomsFishinAdventures 4lb Fluro Jesus that's light, I was expecting 6lb mono for surface lures, as mono floats n Fluro sinks.
