Johnny deserves his applause and accolades..He has been one of the best and one of the most exciting to watch for almost 2 decades....Cheers from Edmonton Johnny!
Won the cup I think once or twice with the kings, that was a while back... He is clearly still a top goaltender. Lots of respect for him. He deserves it
@@ManifestHeathenism3 Stanley Cups (1 with Vegas, yes I know but still)...2 Vezina's (best goalie) Conn Smyth (playoff MVP) and Olympic Silver Medal....One of the very best for years!! One of the very best American goalies of all time. One of the most fun to watch.....And he still has some tread left on the tires.
@@jonnyschwartz I stand corrected. Vezina FINALIST....He did win the Conn Smyth and Stanley Cup that same year 2012...( so he probably didn't mind too much.)
I’m a lifetime red wings fan, but those few years that LA and Chicago traded blows in the conference finals year after year were amazing for modern hockey. So good.
Yes, he did. I have my own view on Blake that I am not going to share here. This night was Quick's moment, and clearly he was very touched by it, judging by his body language. You could almost feel he still feels it's his club, his team he was robbed of. I remember that Kopitar was completely devastated by it, and it took him a while to recover. No hockey player will be on the top of his game his entire career, and it's even more valid with goalies because so many different factors influence their success, much more than with any other player. Quick had a downturn in numbers which was completely understandable - the team was in rebuild and Kings totally sucked in front of him for a few years. And Quick ended up paying the price for Blake's lack of maturity that he showed already as a player when he left Kings to get a shot at SC with Avalanche. I get the competitive nature of players - but it used to be that players stayed with their teams no matter what. And Quick was such a player that is hard to find these days anymore. That's why we see people still loving the guy because they know what I know, they think what I think and they feel what I feel. Jonathan was screwed ROYALLY by Blake. And don't get me started with the 3 for 1 trade. The man has no clue what he does to players and to his team. He will not bring SC back to LA. It will take somebody like Lombardi who loved his team, he loved each and every guy that played on that team. Blake doesn't. That's why he will always make bad decisions and that's why Kings won't become the top team under him. Your players are first and foremost human beings. You can't treat them like a number.
It's really a true testament to his impact when you see how he's received around the league. I saw LA Kings Quick jerseys in Vegas, when he was a Knight for the remainder of the trade season. And in New York, I see the LAK Quick jerseys in the stands, cheering on every save. You don't get that level of respect by being a mediocre goaltender. JQ is undoubtedly HHOF bound, his legacy is more than deserving. I don't think we'll ever see another G with his unmistakable "Spider" butterfly form for a long long time.
Thank you for showing this….i shall keep it my own archive……not too many goalies can make me cry….but Jonathan Quick can….much respect to him and to be able to witness his outstanding performances……yeah….🥹✨😘🏒
Remember how GM Rob Blake unceremoniously dumped this HOF’er? Now Blake has sold out the franchise for PLD, a deal that will haunt the Kings for years to come. FIRE ROB BLAKE NOW!
I was always worried when he was in net as a canucks fan, wow... what a special goalie. He has the Hasek reflexes with the Roy battle in him. If it wasn't for him, I don't think LA wins one of those cups.
Quick was sick. Couple years of getting beat by my canucks in the playoffs. And when the kings finally beat my team, they were on there way to the promise land. Especially the 2012 kings being the 8th seed. That was unbelievable.
Quick, Why did you go to my our biggest rival? That Blue shirt now means I hate you but damn it I respect you. You are an awesome goalie and person. I wish the Devils had some how picked you up.
Yes in hindsight this chat is going to be the typical unknowing LA fan saying “we should have never traded him”. But that’s just not true. I hate that he is not a King anymore, and I’m not in love with the idea that he has had success since he left. But when he was traded he had been really far below average for almost a 2 year period. Is what it is.
Quick was below average for about 6 months before he was traded. During the 2021-2022 season he was 7th in Goals saved above expected and was one of the reasons why we made the playoffs that year.
@@bigsteed007 you’re only saying that because we didn’t do anything in the playoffs that year. But we did NOT have a #1 tender. Period. And Korpisalo was FANTASTIC! Literally up unitl his last 2 starts in the playoffs he was fantastic.

I'd start giving Quick the starting role in NY for the rest of the season. He's looked incredibly sharp this year.
love Quickie. go kings
the tribute in a middle of the game is smart on the kings part.
Best name ever for a goaltender
Get Bergevin out of LA...he is responsible for Quick departure

Without him, I don't believe we would have won the cup, either one of them.
What. A. King.
The King is Henrik not Quick even though Quick is great too.
Legendary keeper !! everyone talks roagie but JQ wow
LA fuckin royalty
You'd think he would make an effort to watch his own video.
Really should have kept him as a KING FOR LIFE even just as backup so he can mentor more great goalies...
I remember going to this game
How the heck did he go out and play a hockey game after that?
How bout this f*cking goalie right here?!
great homage, for great goalie !!

When the announcer says his name, he sounds like Dr. Eggman. It’s really freaky
Three trades made quite Quick-ly.

I wanna know who was behind the editing process here, that was one of the worst welcome back/thank you videos I have seen. They should be ashamed
Saw Quick play back in '08 for the Manchester (NH) Monarchs, the AHL affiliate of the Kings.
He went to the same college, as my sister
Why’d they get rid of him ?
He was the man, here’s a thought maybe they should show a tribute for each goalie they face at home the rest of season and maybe they can win a game
Was one of my inspirations in my playing days, introduced me to plyometrics and made me a better goalie
how the fuck did he never win a Vezina
