Just finished you've reached sam and the best book I've ever read in my whole life this shit needs all the hype
im honestly so suprised to see you‘ve reached sam being a favorite for so many people. Im currently reading it and on page 70 and i honestly feel like im gonna have to force myself through it. Like don‘t get me wrong its great writing but it feels bland and like theres no point to the story. Every time i sit down and pick the book up i put it down 15 minutes later. Its so amazing tho to see how some books are terrible for some and amazing for others. But i feel like my hatred for this book is connected to the one i have for pure romance books-
I'm reading "You've Reached Sam" right now and so far I'm loving it! I'm so happy I got this book. It just makes me want to read more books by this author! ♡

I'm so happy you read and loved You've Reached Sam! I loved it so much and I felt it was so well done and couldn't believe it was a debut either. I can't wait for the author to put out more books.
I finished the midnight library last Saturday. It took about half to book to feel connected to Nora which was a long time, but from that point onwards I could not put it down. I stared at the wall for about half an hour after finishing it, so many things to think about. In the end i thought it was a beautiful book!

I hope Dustin Thao writes more books! I know there are some authors that write one book then that's them, but I would love it if he could write another one.
Have you tried the Skyward novellas, Hailey? They’re about the characters from the first book that get left behind and are really good. I’ve seen a lot of people talk about liking the novellas instead of Cytonic. I think they’re also going to be necessary to understand what happens in book four going off the ending of Cytonic.
I haven't but I'm not a big novella person. I might listen to the audiobooks, but tbh I'd find it irritating if they are necessary to understand the 4th book 😂
I liked the novellas better as well. More character driven but still have enough action to move the plot forward

That's really far - Brandon definitely made decisions that won't work for everyone when he decided to split the story between the novel and the novellas - I can definitely see how that would be irritating. I personally loved the novellas a lot more than the novel and they really are more like one book split into three than three distinctly separate stories.

I 100% agree on the Shadows Between Us, I'd say its definitely not a book I'd describe as super good/everyone should read, so high quality, but it's fun and enjoyable for some people.

I am currently reading for all time and I have the same feelings as you. I so badly wanted to love it and it has unfortunately left me very confused and heading towards a reading slump. I am 50 pages from the end so I am planning to finish it but it just really didn't go the way I had hoped it would 😔.

Hi Hailey! About Spin's hair, I just finished reading the first book and at some point she mentions that in the months that passed her hair has gotten long. I just found the quote in chapter 45 (no spoilers) "She took a lock of my hair between her fingers and raised an eyebrow--it had gotten long, and now tumbled past my shoulders." Not sure what they mention in the second book though, I haven't read it yet :) (great video, btw)

I finished For All Time this past weekend and I was so disappointed by the end. There were no real stakes. The characterization across timelines was inconsistent, so nothing really tied the timelines together. And there was no plot until the tail end.
The description for you’ve reached sam reminds me of the movie endless where the bf dies in a car crash and the somehow still get in touch with each other

i’ve finished you’ve reached sam recently and instantly became a favorite book of mine. also i was also disappointed in “you can go your own way” as well. i felt like it wasn’t much of a romance and i was expecting much more sadly and i didn’t get that. i felt like so much happened at the same time nothing happened.

The book is set in a world where words cost money and a girl decides to stop talking completely, I think it’s a dystopian world but I’m not 100%

Can there like NOT be steamy romance in YA books? Do you know how dangerously close I was to already having bought Daughter of the Pirate King before clicking on this video? I am extremely disgusted. A few years ago there was someone who said authors wouldn't want their high school age characters to be subjected to that stuff in fanfiction. Clearlyt hat has changed. Although technically speaking, authors shouldn't be bothered with what happens in fanfiction, but if the author themselves is doing that, yikes! It was yoiksy enough in Twilight. Putting all of Tristan Levenseller's books on my DO NOT TOUCH category.
When she says steamy she means the tension. there's no smut in her books. there's a lot of tension in pirate king, but no smut.
