Eeee! My Year of Rest and Relaxation, Dracula, AND Frankenstein in your best books of 2023?! This makes me happy! I have been wanting to read Annihilation and Chlorine for some time: I should prioritize them this year. What books are you looking forward to reading this year?
I REALLY enjoy your channel/ videos. They have a really cool (artsy, deep-thoughts?) vibe to them. I feel like making coffee or getting a special drink and then rewatching your video(s). You have a knack for this! Please continue to make and share these. I really do look forward to your updates… Best regards.
Frankenstein is my favorite book! You had great recommendations here, I'll definitely check out The Idiot. I also noticed Uzumaki on your bookshelf, Junji Ito has a version of Frankenstein and it is absolutely gorgeous.
It's good that you finished off your list by reading two older books, Darby. (Most book vloggers today have this weird allergy to classic literature that's unfathomable!)

Describing Annihilation as Eat Pray Love with monsters got me so off-guard and cracked me up. Subscribed!

it took me awhile to get over my irrational fear of classics. frankenstein and dracula are shockingly super readable
if you liked annihilation i recommend Roadside Picnic, one of my favorites of all time.
