Kue Nyonya Pulut Tekan (Pulut Tai Tai) & Sri Kaya I Nyonya Pressed Glutinuos Rice Cake & Kaya Jam

  • Another classic Nyonya pastry that was a big part of my childhood! It is usually an after-meal dessert or for breakfast or tea time usually eaten with creamy & fragrant kaya jam. This dessert is surely a favorite to many, let's look into the ingredients below and please watch the video in full for the process on how to make this dessert right.
    The Kaya
    5 large eggs
    200ml thick coconut milk
    180gr caster sugar
    3-4 screwpine leaves tie in a knot
    The Presses Glutinous Rice Cake
    300gr glutinous rice
    enough water to soak the rice
    2tsp butterfly blue pea flower powder
    200ml coconut cream
    150ml water
    2tsp salt
    banana leaves
    Disclaimer - I made two batches of pulut tekan and took the wrong bowl to shoot for the serving of the rice cake hence you will notice different marble effect on the cake. Nevertheless, recipes and methods used remained the same.

Ia biasanya dijadikan pencuci mulut selepas makan malam atau untuk sarapan pagi atau untuk minum petang biasanya dimakan dengan kaya. Pencuci mulut ini sememangnya menjadi kegemaran ramai, mari kita lihat bahan-bahan di bawah dan sila tonton video sepenuhnya untuk dapatkan proses dan cara membuat pencuci mulut ini dengan betul.
    Sri Kaya
    5 biji telur besar
    200ml santan pekat
    180gr gula halus
    3-4 helai daun pandan diikat simpul
    Pulut Tekan
    300gr beras pulut
    air secukupnya untuk merendam beras
    2sk serbuk bunga telang asli
    200ml krim kelapa
    150ml air
    2 sudu kecil garam
    daun pisang

      300gr dibahagi 2 bahagian 150gr setiap satu. Satu bahagian dijadikan biru.

      Actually tak, it was just right. Otherwise it will be too soft and sticky to slice. 😂
