Very rough and unpolished album. That’s the beauty. Listening to it end to end as opposed to one song here and there is the way to go. I can’t begin to guess how many times I’ve heard the album, but I hear new stuff in it all the time.
I'm torn about this mix/re-master. Part of the glory of this album is it's muddy sound, which comes through in all of the lyrics, the low Sax, the mid range guitars. The mix here is very clean. Charlie's snare is just popping. Like I said - I'm torn. But great clip, and insights as always.
@@Micknkeithable In addition to lifestyle, he was fed up with how the band worked. According to Taylor, getting everyone in the studio was "laborious," and he felt they were a band on the verge of collapse.
I can follow lyrics while listening, but I find music videos distracting. Especially ones that have nothing to do with the song (like that Rocks Off video). Even you commented more on the video than the song.
He left cause he was a baby. And it was good. Sure Taylor had Keith in his prime and riff prime. But Taylor can't hold a candle to Ronnie Wood. Ronnie plays everything! Writes for a decade with the Faces. But Ronnie did not have Keith in his prime...thus many like Taylor better. I find he never blended with Keith like Ronnie.
I loved a lot of stuff with Brian Jones, but the stuff with Mick Taylor is what made them a kickass band. Black and Blue and Some Girls are both great albums after Mick Taylor left, but anything afterward is pretty much worthless.
Let it loose can drive me to tears. What a great great song sung well by Mick. You are right Bro. Bless you
“Let it Loose” is special stuff. Easily one of Jagger’s most emotive vocal performances.

Thanks For Streaming 👍👏
What is streaming ?
Hot rocks is a best of. Beggars Banquet, Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile onMain Street are pretty well recognized as their best run of form.
Mick just turned 80
Amazing
I remember this one! So good to revisit!
Some of their very best!

I agree on most points except "the live versions not being good" part.....
Mick Taylor was younger, and the stones lifestyle was rough on him. Some stories have it that he was unhappy about not getting more writing credit.
Both were true.
He decided he had to get away from the lifestyle

Beyond the Sea is a bio about Bobby Darren
