I’ve made scale models for 30 odd years as a hobby... i’ve watched countless videos of builds, seen god knows how many photos, but that dradis console and the engine lights pretty much make that the best scale model i’ve ever seen.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Olmos at a Heroes and Villains convention in Nashville last year. It was an awesome experience. He was very kind, approachable and personable and seemed genuinely interested in everyone that came to speak with him. I've always liked him as an actor, but after meeting him personally and speaking with him, I have even greater respect for the man. What a great guy!
It's not often this happens to me, but whenever i see the scene Adama alone at the flight deck, leaving the Galactica for the very last time... man i was fighting with tears. The only other occasion this happens is at the end of Peter Jacksons "Return of the King".
- Did you ever stole money from a cash drawer ? - Enough of this crap, I'd rather end my career or what's left of it on a half broken ship than having someone sitting here question my word, no matter how fat the paycheck is. And what a beautiful ending it was for his career. Such an heartful show.
I love the entire show all 4 seasons and Im so glad they did it right. From start to finish. I have a dvd collectors box set with a Cylon and I will tell you it was a awesome journey they have done. Loved it my friends and I salute you Admiral Adama 👍👍👍👍👍
Got to say, such an OG fan, wasn't sure if I'd like the new one. Loren Green was one of my favorite actors, love James but wasn't sure if anyone could play the part. He knocked it out of the park, did such an amazing job.
Absolutely stunning reproduction - I wish Id known about these when they came out - Id have sold one of my kidneys to one I kid you not! EJO is one of the kingpins that made BSG so real, immersive and its a joy to watch him perform.
Wow very awesome im glad that a good impression of james speak about the molde makers of the viper and telling the the detail craftsmanship that is very good Commandments about the workmanship the model makers doing the piper and specially but it galactic they put their Heart and souls to their work thank you
You know if this was some other actor I would have said he got paid (which he probably did anyway) and told to say some things and at least try to sound enthusiastic. But this isn't just any actor, this is the guy who invented a language for Blade Runner even though there are exactly two lines from it in the actual movie.
Oh, great ! I watched BSG and and is one of the best series I've ever seen in my life, overcoming many Star Wars episodes and some Star Wars films, covering many topics of AI, life in society, sacrifice, war, famine, Greek mythology, religion, philosophy, etc ... William Adama was one of the most significant characters of Gallactica and remains current, so say you All!!!
what would make these Viper models cooler than they already are is if they come autographed by the actors who's characters flew those vipers in the series...if ya know there aren't already ones like that
Looks like Chief Tyrol just finished detailing that Viper for the Admiral. Starbuck's Viper looks like she just landed after a pitched battle with a Cylon Basestar and shot down 25 Cylon Raiders.
The same artist (Ralph McQuarrie) designed both. Pretty much everything that was cool about Star Wars (in a visual sense) is a direct result of his influence.
You made me lol friend and im sure if Me Olmos read your comment he lold too ! ...and guess what. the actual model ship he destroys in a rage when Kara dies, was RENTED ! it was very expensice and luckily it was also insured :) True Story.
@ZainNL you have any idea what goes into building this? You may not be able to afford one, which is one thing, but don't make seemingly derogatory comments based on your lack of knowledge on the quality and workmanship. I have seen this thing and it is worth every single penny of the price. I actually thought it would be $200 more!
great video but I feel like the guy filming could have put the mic closer to admiral adama, it's a bit irritating listening to that guy breathe for the entire video
I always wondered how BSG ships, fleet, vipers, Galactica, etc. slowed down in space with zero reverse thrusters. Yeah, sometimes they 'spun' around to shoot backwards, like real Newtonian physics, but you can't flip Galactica. What gives, Admiral?
I love that they gave this to Eddie Olmos! Any time I can hear him talk about the show, I am all in.
oh my God I love seeing the little mini dradis in the cockpit
I’ve made scale models for 30 odd years as a hobby... i’ve watched countless videos of builds, seen god knows how many photos, but that dradis console and the engine lights pretty much make that the best scale model i’ve ever seen.
when it works . . . when some damn soup of nebula isn't fraking about with it ;)

He's also as passionate about BSG as any regular fan
Great actor, here! So say we all!
So say we all!!!!
So say we all...

So say we all!

They should offer a Battlestar model to Mr. Olmos!
Wow very awesome im glad that a good impression of james speak about the molde makers of the viper and telling the the detail craftsmanship that is very good Commandments about the workmanship the model makers doing the piper and specially but it galactic they put their Heart and souls to their work thank you
"Admiral!" Hahaha!!! Love this man so much!
Such an amazing actor

really?!?
Ya, he got paid. This is a commercial for a product. Duh.
Vipers are not for sale anymore but how do i get that art print on the wall? Its amazing.

Nice chap, excellent actor, and superb model.

Well Eddie/Mr Olmos/Admiral is just amazing.
Always forget what a incredible and varied acting career Edward James Olmos has had.
Awesome model, from a GREAT show, one of my favorite.
Looks like Chief Tyrol just finished detailing that Viper for the Admiral.
Starbuck's Viper looks like she just landed after a pitched battle with a Cylon Basestar and shot down 25 Cylon Raiders.
Admiral on deck!
Fantastic viper scale model
WOW,,Best model i have ever seen !!
Incredible, I want one!!, the greatest Sci Fi Drama of all time!!
Its strange to see Adama without his suit...
"It's one of a kind.........and they made a few of them"
One of the funniest statements I have ever heard, I'm still giggling
The illumination of those thrusters are awesome. You wouldn't even have to doctor it up with CGI.
I want that poster in the background!
Was the best show and good actors to bad it ended
This was a great series. I hope someday they do some sort of Hollywood remake (aside from the Universal TV movie)
Excellent actor ! So say we all!
I hope they do the MKV and the Blackbird named for the President!
amazing!
The same artist (Ralph McQuarrie) designed both. Pretty much everything that was cool about Star Wars (in a visual sense) is a direct result of his influence.
MAKE MORE PLEASE!
You made me lol friend and im sure if Me Olmos read your comment he lold too !
...and guess what. the actual model ship he destroys in a rage when Kara dies, was RENTED ! it was very expensice and luckily it was also insured :) True Story.
LoL I can imagine the crew saying "uh mr.olmos that was a rental."after the take where he destroys it
Did darth vader film this?
maybe the cameraman was Jason Blaha "blahino"
It would be cool to have a watch with a dradis on it.
Legend
Nebula 7242 Constellation
I'm determined to get one
That poster though...
well said!!!
At 2:23 he said the engines are at full bore🤔 what's that mean? I've watched seasons one through four and not once have I heard that in BSG.
quiero uno
y olmos otro actor favoritos a mi lista
i would love one of these sadly i wouldnt know how to buy one or how much they'd cost
How many of these were made and are on the market for sale.
@salud6934 That wasn't the intent. They actually modeled it as close to an F-16 as possible, hence the 'Viper" name.
Where can i get that poster?
@ZainNL you have any idea what goes into building this?
You may not be able to afford one, which is one thing, but don't make seemingly derogatory comments based on your lack of knowledge on the quality and workmanship. I have seen this thing and it is worth every single penny of the price. I actually thought it would be $200 more!
Where is that poster of the cast available from?
@TheNuteyodajarjar So say we all!
Want one like that...they are 2000 $ a piece...too bad for me !
Type qmx viper model in google, first site has it...
So say we all!
@Xphome Agreed, I'm a huge fan of the series, but this would require me to sell my car or similar. :(
So say we all!!!
dear santa...
Fantastic model except the canopy doesn't fit? That huge gap in the front sucks.
That's correct to the show - if you look closely, some of the MK IIs have a slightly raised canopy edge
Poor Dee and Gaeta never make it on the poster.
Man I want one of those! If anyone can point me in the right direction to search for one of these rare 1 of 500 that would be much appreciated! Thanks
Wear can I get one
Secondary Market.. "Ebay" long sold out
Gorgeous!
One of a kind, they made a few, lol? Sorry heheh
great video but I feel like the guy filming could have put the mic closer to admiral adama, it's a bit irritating listening to that guy breathe for the entire video

What gives, Admiral?
i guess we can call him Bill Adama anyway cuz he acts like him even after the show
does it come with the chief? baah!!
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY
give meeee ;)))))))
1500 $ ? you must be kidding
BUGGER!!!!!!!! £2000, how the fek am I supposed to work that up being just 15?
@aradioactivedonut
I assure you they were not.
Dead link :(
@hurafeciyan clearly you have no idea what goes into making these things.
OH FOR FUCK SAKE DONT LET HIM TOUCH THA MODEL SHIP.......
Next time try not to breathe so hard next to the damn mic :p whoever was filming haha
Do not give one to Adama. When he gets upset over the futility of this frakking war, he'll smash it up, much to the prop master's chagrin.
