    Hi Martin, just to update you I've taken receipt of both the SV Bony flattener/reducer and Astro Essentials focuser to go with my StarTravel 102. The Astro Essentials focuser was easy to connect onto the OTA, they have been listening to your videos no doubt. Now hoping for some clear night skies to try everything out. Thanks for bringing these items to everyone's attention. Cheers, Steve

    Hi Martin, glad you are back. I agree the reducer does a good job, sadly Svbony does not produce a reducer for my Startravel 150.
    FLO sell a 0.8 reducer for my F5/7500mm (£90) but sadly I have heard it increases the chromatic fringing noise.
    I also agree, that my 2" Baader contrast booster filter does a great job in reducing the fringing aberration.
    Earlier episodes you made a cooler for your 600D, I am surprised you are not using it?

    Thanks for this review! Always love catching your new videos. Modding my ST-80 the whole way after waiting for a good deal on a focuser upgrade. When I go to a bigger scope, I gotta get a new mount and stand, so that’ll wait a while. Svbony should sponsor this one! Looking forward to more great captures on the cheap!

      Only problem with Svbony, is they do not like negative views or what can be improved, My video content is too honest and why should I lie to my viewers just to get views, subs and sponsors. Here everyone who support MP ASTRO, they want good, honest and true info, there is too many big Astro channels getting free sponsors and lying to their viewers. These channels I avoid now as they are not trustworthy anymore.

    I brought the reducer/flattener for my startravel 150, and started filming last night, whilst the Northern lights lit up the sky above, All seemed to be going well when suddenly the AZ-EQ6 powered down and would not power up again. Tried it again this morning but the motherboard is dead. To add insult to injury the Syncan has also died. I can only conclude the powerful aurora radiation produced a nasty spike and fried the electronics. Oh well - sometimes Sh*t happens.

    The Rosette Nebula could fit more than twice into the field. That's incredibly wide field for 4 inch aperture!

    • @MPAstro
      @MPAstro  3 місяці тому +2

      @janomacko5764 Yep that is the true field of view, already I have some viewers still question me about these images are real, for gods sake I even recorded the live imaging session (with no cuts or edits) to prove to people that the results I'm getting are actually real. It's furstrating but yet there a few minority of viewers would believe a top astro channels without question, So why not us the smaller channels do we count in this community???

    Nice images sir. With contrast booster filter the images are ed like sharp. But sir why don't you use Siril. Using Siril will help you to use photometric color calibration and many more advanced tools which will make the images well color caliberated and you can also get good and nice star colours which make the images look like taken with apo.
    Thanks for these videos. It helps to turn out many achromats into astrographs ❤

    • @MPAstro
      @MPAstro  3 місяці тому +1

      No need I like to keep things simple!! I got to make sure the evidence is more true, It's OK to use Siril, but some people will argue the case that I've cheated!!!

    • @HyperX07
      @HyperX07 3 місяці тому

      Btw if we saturate stars, can we get star colors like ed

      @@HyperX07 Yep post processing does help,

    • @HyperX07
      @HyperX07 3 місяці тому

      Ok because getting natural star colours may change the world and make people believe that achromat can also get natural looking sharp stars and sharp images

      I don't know what will be your reaction but can you provide us google drive links of final images because youtube degrades the resolution a bit.
      If you can provide us the stacked and unprocessed data then pls provide it will be way more good for us and we can process it by our own way.

      Alot of editing at the start, You can speed up the video at 1.25x times, UA-cam allows you to do this.
