- 2001 Les Paul Classic loaded with Seymour Duncan Antiquity humbuckers. Playing through a 2005 Splawn QuickRod. I have a TC G Major 2 in the loop for delay and reverb. EVH 412 cab.
It's funny I read a review of these pickups and someone said "if you're looking for metal, look elsewhere", but that sounds pretty damn good to me.
That Kingdom Come riff is killer…. You don’t hear that every day on these gear demo’s.
I have a set and was surprised at how well they handled high gain. They don't lose the individual string clarity and yet still distort nice and evenly. Now when I go to my other guitars with higher output pickups, I find them too compressed. I guess it depends how far down the metal road you want to go. Djent these are not, for sure, but neither am I.
Thanks for doing this. There is enough of great clean demos of the antiquities👍🏻sounds great.
Man, thank you so much for the video and all your expert advice in the replies for the comments! I'm thinking about getting a set of these for my Flying V since long gone are the days that almost everything I played was metal. However, I still want to play "Seek and Destroy" every once in a while. I've had many different guitars over the years and found that I liked the sound of weaker magnets better than the hot ones, but was afraid to make the switch on my "V" until I bumped onto your video. Astonishing playing and tone on your part too! May the Gods of Metal bless you! Cheers!!
Thanks for this demo, this helps me make my next purchase!
Thank you Joel !!........appreciate
Killer playing and tone!!
Sounds a lot like the Seths. I really love that unpotted tone for dirty stuff especially. It had something “3D” about its tone. After I potted them, they were never the same. Not my finest moment haha
Yep ... I am buying these !!
I was looking at these or pearly gates for the bridge on my les Paul. This amp may have a little bearing on the toneage as well, they have a pretty distinct voice, great playing btw
Looking for something clone of my Tim Shaw pickups in an old Studio Custom. These are about as close as I've found so far.
amazing tone... rock's... thats my set..les Paul with antiquities and fargen olde800... how do you set up the height of pickups???... thanks
The sound is straight out of the 80s. But I wonder how they would manage in some sludge/doom tunes. Slow and heavy
Fucking A man rock ONI!!! I just bought one for my les and i wasn't sure if i was going to put it in, now i am sure, thank you this is exactly what i was looking for.
Was digging the cuppy “woman tone” from the neck pick-up!
Cool playing! How does it feels compare to hi output ones like jb or 498t?
Sounds great mate, what do they sound like through your EVH ?
Wow! Great tone and amazing playing! Can you tell me wich song is at
Just got a set of these for my Sg! Can’t seem to dial them in!? What do you have them set at as far as pup height?
