- Totally spectacular! As we said in our video, it was surreal to be here, visiting somewhere we looked into a lot before starting our expedition. Of course, it was even more special in person.
We apologise that this video wasn't live for you guys last week. Our signal and Wi-Fi has been very poor recently. For those of you who have visited Nambia yourself, you will understand!

Thank you, so kind of you to say! We are absolutely loving Namibia. ☺️
Top drawer, and all the gang being their is special. Take care
It was awesome 😀
Hi Harry&Chloe...
Well you have me quite blue having grown up in South West Africa Namibia. Somehow we never ventured south to Sossusvlei, but the coast line north and the Namib and Etosha and the Waterberg are childhood playgrounds for me. So we'll be watching. Hope to see you at Spitzkupfen (Spitskoppe in Afrikaans) and other sweet places grained into my chilhood memory. Safe Travels guys!
Awesome! I’m glad we can bring back some good memories. We have absolutely loved Namibia so far it’s been incredible. From south to north!
Harry
Excellent location, great collection of trucks
Thanks! It was a nice lineup hey!
Great episode as always Chloe and Harry! Awesome drone footage and thanks for the entertainment on your travels 😉
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed! Sorry we couldn’t upload last week. Signal here is shocking 😂

Thanks for bringing us along with you on these great adventures you are having . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :) :) 🌍🍻👍🏼😁
Cheers Steve, you are right there’s nothing better than being with a group of likeminded people just having the best time!
Cheers

@@TheLandyExpedition ..😁
Magic.. Magnificent
Glad you think so! 😀
Having driven our Td5 Defender from South Africa up to Scotland, I love watching these clips of you guys in yours and, also having visited Namibia a few times, this episode reminded me we need to do it again….. this time in our truck though 👏🙌
Ah awesome, that must have been an awesome trip! Did you drive the west coast then?
Harry
@@TheLandyExpedition we tried the West Coast first but couldn’t get visas for DRC, so we did the East Coast… SA, Moz, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, Egypt, then across to Turkey and through Europe … wrote a book about it “DUNDEE 2 DUNDEE (I was born in Dundee Sa and Donna was born Dundee Scotland
And ones a toyota said whispering lol funny as. But that looks awesome.
Cool videos guys. Please ignore the negative comments.
Thank you, appreciate it 😀 all comments are welcomed 💪🏼😀
Loving watching your progress thumbs up to you.
Vlei in afrikaans refers to a wetland or marsh.
Thanks for confirming that! And so happy to hear you are enjoying the journey 😀
Harry
The trees will make nice fire wood.
😂 they would. But I wouldn’t try cutting them down you might get into a bit of trouble
Fab video guys 🙌😍
Glad you think so! 😀
Well, after watching you use it in so many videos, I have bought myself a Petromax griddle! I hope to get to use it on my campervan trip with my daughter to Denmark in August! Sooner or later I need to sell my 911 and pick up a RRC or Defender...
Awesome, we absolutely love our Petromax equipment!
Let us know how you find it 😃
Harry
Chloe’s Christmas pyjamas crack me up! 😂
😂
Let’s go, keep us updated 🥳
We will 😀

Fantastic video keep on trucking 👍👋🇿🇦
Cheers Gary!

hey dear, great videos, thanx. where can i buy the grillplate which is mounted direktliy on the gasbottle (min. 12:40)
Hi there! It’s a South African thing I believe. Where are you based?
There is no escaping the heat in Sossusvlei, we climed the big daddy dune at 41⁰C once😂
Yoh! You are brave 😂
Great video .... "Sossusvlei" roughly means "dead-end marsh". Vlei is the Afrikaans word for "marsh", while "sossus" means "no return" or "dead end"in Nama
Ahhh cool, thanks for this 🙌
Epik awesome video
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed,
Harry
What an amazing journey!
Thank You for all the work you put into bringing this to us!🎥
Do you think my red Jeep would look out of place tagging along behind? Lol
The Defenders make this look like a real expedition!
Be safe and stay well.👌🙏
Hey there, any car is welcome 😂 we don’t discriminate between jeep Landrover and Toyota.. haha!
Cheers
Harry

Lol! I’m on my way!🚗👍
Thanks for this episode, but you missed the best time of day, you and anyone reading this, you need to get to the dunes at sunrise and or sunset. Those times are by far the best for photography. Thanks anyway, and all the best for the rest of the trip
Hi there! You are absolutely right. We actually went sunrise mid day and sunset. I think what I wanted to get across that there were no other people there at midday which made it special. But you are absolutely right the lifting sunrise and sunset is something else! So beautiful.
Sorry for not being clear enough.
😀
H
Hi Harry. What size tyres are you running on
We are running the Toyo open country mud terrains 265/75/16! 😀
H
@@TheLandyExpedition Ok thanks. Are they not noisy on the tarmac
I went in June this year. And the only 2 days I had at Deadvlei the weather was miserable. All grey, raining and freezing cold. It totally ruined the experience. It almost hurt to see the sun and blue sky in literally every video on UA-cam
Ah no that’s a bummer! You were very unlucky to have that weather there. I’m sorry you didn’t get to experience the beautiful colours.
Harry
Only Grizzly n Bear missing from the Landy line up
Absolutely! We hope to see them at some point when their Landy is finished
H
HP sauce on baked beans 😋
With a shot of Tabasco, mmmmmmm
Cold out of the tin with n pikstel spoon... 🤤🤤
Bloody lovely, eh?🤤
@@TheLandyExpedition the best 👌.
@@alwynvanwyk1851Ja troep !
Well, finally someone with a converted HT.
Nice to see other Landys, always these funny Toyotas is already boring.
Greetings from Germany.
Cheers! Yes the conversion is epic 😀
Dead vlei where "vlei" is a pond or small lake
Yes! Thanks
No such thing as steep, just a lack of (LandRover) power. ;)
😂 sure a lightweight high powered engine would be better here… but we wouldn’t change our Landy for a thing!
@@TheLandyExpedition Absolutely, they have their benefits.
Namibia certainly seems to be a very desolate country.
Certainly in the south it is. It’s just so dry that people can’t do anything. The north is far different though. Looking forward to sharing this with everyone
H
Hello, Drones are prohibited in national parks in Namibia. Please respect the regulations. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment really appreciate it and apologise for our mistake.
Brother, when a tree has been dead for 900 years, surely the roots are dead as well..... 😂
You have a very nice vlog, but less chitty chatty if you're not knowledgeable about a subject, don't talk about it....
Vlei = forest.
Dead trees = dead roots 😱😱😱
And I'm only a few minutes into the video, no man...
More homework, and give facts to your viewers...
You've skipped lovely little towns without a glance, missing out on meeting wonderful people and good food, zoom zoom from one side to the other....
I'm just saying, and still subscribed.... but take a minute here and there...
Tips from an old man watching UA-cam 😂
Hey there, thank you so much for taking the time to watch our video and for leaving a comment.
We really appreciate your feedback and will of course take this onboard and strive to do better in our future videos.
We are not experts in every field and have never claimed to be, obviously we try our best to share the correct information on our channel. We totally understand where you are coming from.
What was the name of the town we missed?
We share a 10-20 minute video a week therefore not every single place we visit and experience we have is filmed or is included in our videos. It may come across as though we are zooming from place to place but that sure isn’t the case. We also have to be mindful of how long we spend in each country as we do have visa restrictions, if we could visit every single place we totally would.
Again, thank you so much for your comment. We hope you enjoy our future videos.
Have a great evening!
Chloe ☺️
Get a life dude
Hi @LandyExpedition, I am going to allow myself a comment re the translation of vlei: it is a seasonal shallow pond/lake. So the underground water would have sustained the trees. But that's just a by-the-by. Love your vlogs - love Namibia! All the best!
