Nothing beats hearing them do it live, which has been my good fortune. Still, my friends burn the house down even on video. Tommy's passion for Gypsy Jazz and Django is clear and Joscho and his group are among the genres leading exponents. Play on - j'attendrai! Thanks yellowpostbox.
This is one fantastic video! And how can you not love Tommy!(@4:47) lol. It's hard to believe it's even humanly possible to play like these guys do. My first exposure to Joshco, but it won't be my last.
Thanks for posting, this is fantastic video. Also a really good analysis of what Tommy has to offer (aside, of course, from his technical brilliance, innovation and showmanship)
wow..well said mr pianoguitar.,I quite agree with u..amazing understanding both the greats..I couldn't imagine the way they shared the main song with a whole lotta improvisation on the classic jazz genre were equally invaluable if I am right..besides, it was so lively more than anything else like josh was cool & changing the string, then coming in with little jerk at all & carried on with the same moods until last..thank u legends for a memorable session..God bless u all..warm regards..siva..ind
LOL -- following 05:45, eine kleine "Für Elise" to seamlessly smooth over the string-tuning twangs. These guys have a nice musical sense of humor (following 04:45, for instance -- Emmanuel cracks Stephan up with his silly wood-saw sound effect) and endless chops to articulately ad-lib whatever comes into their heads! Dig Stephan's coda phrase, as playful as Joni Mitchell's sudden basso voice at the very end of her "Big Yellow Taxi". Cheers!
Quel intérêt y a t'il à jouer ce morceau (sweet Geogia Brown) à 200 à l'heure ? Juste prouver sa vélocité sur une guitare... Ou pour prendre son train plus tôt ?
Even Joscho isn't better than Tommy, you can't compare these two Gods, they are so good at what they're doing, they're are so good at their respective genres. Gypsy Jazz isn't Tommy's permanent home, he's just a visitor at Joscho's house.

Amazing ... Tommy makes Joscho smile ! LOL
Cool whammy like licks on acoustic guitars. Two ABSOLUTE MASTERS at their best!
What fantastic fun these guys share with us all. Thanks yellowpostbox for sharing this.

@fingherigno o fingerpicchio ?
NON ti riconosco più !!!!
Hai visto che roba ?
Bisognerebbe riuscire a vederlo un concerto con questi 2 insieme !
At 3:23 does he say "Köszönjük szépen!"? (Thank you in Hungarian)
No, he says "joscho stephan" ;-)
Yeah, I see now that it is Tommy who speaks there and he is unlikely to thank the crowd in Hungarian, sorry
I would say that they are trying to find areas of agreement.
I think Tommy has met his match...
who is pushing the envelope here??
Around 6:35 -> blues :-)
