I didn't start reading until 2021 so it's really refreshing to hear another adult talk about also being new to reading. I might have finished 1 or 2 books in high school 11+ years ago but never had an interest until recently. Now I can't stop! Looking forward to more videos!
I’m delighted to have just ‘met’ you. I love your natural, unedited style of video. I’ve also stopped myself from reading for pleasure, telling myself that every book needed to be worthy and text book like. I think you just may be encouraging me to have fun with reading, thank you! 😊
Yayyyuu so excited for you to start your Booktube journey! Looking forward seeing your longer videos. I always pull up your videos while at the bookstore so ik what to pick up. Just picked up Dead Wake yesterday at B&N.
Welcome to UA-cam! I was a huge reader in middle/high school and then probably didn’t pick up a book until 2020 and I picked up ACOTAR. Since then, it has been so fun to remember how much I love to read fantasy but now I’m here to expand what I read. You’ve been helpful in helping me explore other genres!
I found your channel today after searching around for some book reviews on Stephen King. I’ve now subscribed, I think we have similar tastes in stories. I got into Reading books again recently after I found my attention span for them in my 20s-30s wasn’t there. I switched to Audiobooks. But like you I love going into bookshops and looking at all the books. I started by re-reading a book I’d read years ago and noticed my imagination wake up and take me to the places in the story. It was thrilling! I’m now reading ‘The Reformatory’ - by Tananarive Due and it’s gripped me. I’m happy to have found my love for reading again!
Wonderful first video. I keep putting off reading Sanderson due to the length of his books. I only read 10 books a year and have such a back log! Maybe one day. I also buy books so shelf space is a premium. Keep up the good work on your channel.
I didnt read until after college. I just figured we were reading so much in years previous because we had to. Then after my friends and i did a bookclub, one a month of classics. I had a crush on my friend so i wanted to participate. Edgar Rice Burroughs was my favorites.
I've always read but not as much as I have since covid. I like booktubers that read across lots of genres. I like classics and I like horror, comedy and mysteries. I like beautifully written books and books that are a roller coaster ride. I subscribed. 😀
You’re my new favorite book-toker! I’ve always been too scared to go anywhere near Stephen King’s books since I’m a scardy cat but you’ve influenced me to try out 11/22/63! Excited!
Your outlook on books before you started reading is basically how i am now. Im trying to change that now. I have a rubbish imagination and attention span so trying some smaller reads to start.
I loved the Mistborn series which I’ve been a told is a good place to start reading fantasy. I will be reading the Way of Kings next. Brandon Sanderson is an author you can count on.
I love that you created this UA-cam channel despite only having started your reading journey fairly recently. It’s so relatable since I’ve only gotten into reading in the past few years as well. Love your video style. It’s also refreshing seeing books that you don’t see many people talking about (shout out to Lonesome Dove!). Looking forward to more videos!

Hey man I just started to read this year. It started because of your TikTok. Before this year I had only read a few John Grisham books. I feel in love with Misery by Stephen King. Now I just picked up Lonesome Dove and can’t put it down!!!! Anyway thanks for what you do and love the vibes!!!
It’s great to see you on UA-cam, Nick! Thanks for telling us about your reading journey! Maybe that means I can groom my own family into becoming readers too?
Hu.. I actually had no idea bookstores were like you described. Here in Argentina (in small towns) all we ever had is small bookstores, where all you can get is books. Would be nice to visit something like you described
The Sanderlanche is the term for his book endings! Love Warbreaker as a great standalone and Tess of the Emerald Sea for something more whimsical and a quick read. Binging your videos currently. A voice we need in the booktube community. I was in your shoes 6 to 7 years ago and booktubers were so well read, their opinions didn’t mesh with how I saw books as a novice reader. There’s a certain baggage that collects as you gain experience and it’s nice to hear such a fresh perspective.
Yayyyy so happy you’re on UA-cam!!!!!! Really enjoy your vibe and how you talk about books and your journey. Appreciate all the LOTR references and agree that the Two Towers is the best!
Came to your channel from your TikTok when you spoke about it the other day and fancied watching this one while I wind down for bed. ❤ Also having watched your TikTok for a while I assumed you were a life long book worm like me especially the way you talk about the books you’ve read but it’s never too late! Welcome to the book worm community!
welcome to Booktube! I’m kind of a newbie myself…started a channel last year. And that’s mainly because I wanted to ramp up my reading and delve into classics…Good for you that your wife has made recommendations. That’s awesome! Again, welcome! I’m going to watch your other video next.
I just wanted to say that I think it’s wonderful that you have started your career of reading! I have always been a reader - I’ve taught English and writing- but I feel like within the last five years, I have become a true reader, which is odd . I think getting older helped. 😊
You were great. Pretty similar story, I aldo never read and thought reading was BLAH although I loved going into bookstores and libraries, then maybe 3 years ago my friend recommended Mistborn to me, so while locked down during covid i bought and got hooked. 3 years later I now own over 50 books. You are braver than me though, I keep considering starting a youtube channel but I'm so nervous to do it! Keep going man!
I enjoy following your reading journey. We have a similar reading story and are into similar books. I was a non-reader until my early 30s and am now obsessed. I mostly listen to audio books and buy the hard copies of ones I love so I can go back to my favorite parts. Keep on doing what you’re doing!
This is great, I’ve been enjoying your videos on Tik Tok for some time now and I’m so excited to enjoy your long form versions of entertainment. I can’t wait to see your channel grow
I've been following your tiktok since you started. i started reading right around the same time as you did. Love the vid, love the tiktoks! Books are sick!
I haven't read acotar, I read plenty of serious highbrow (comparatively) stuff but I strongly believe you need some popcorn reads in between the heavy stuff to keep the momentum going. You need some light entertainment to break up the big books or books with big ideas. Love that you're open to read anything
I read off and on throughout junior high and high school, but not a lot - maybe 5 books a year, tbh. I really got back into reading in 2020 when I was quarantined after being exposed to Covid, and I've been reading around 20-30 books a year. For a long time, I thought high schoolers were only required to read books, in the movies 😂 My high school didn't do that. I've been following you on Instagram for a few weeks and needed more. So, here I am!
I totally get what you mean about these basically being the first books you've read. Reading for school is vastly different from reading for fun. Like one teacher I had in high school said, a class could give a genuinely great book for the students to read but because the students are being made to read it, most of the kids aren't going to enjoy it or even try to enjoy it. If they had read it on their own accord they would have loved it. Even books I read in school that I liked I didn't take the proper time to enjoy them as much as I should especially when you have to speed read to make the due date. In college I had basically lost my love for reading because of all that and it took a few years after college for me to rediscover how much I love books.
Great first video! Hope you continue with the UA-cam format. I’m currently listening to the last Mistborn book. The audiobooks are fantastic if you ever want to revisit the series.
Welcome to the UA-cams, my guy!! Been following your TikTok for ages. Love having you on this platform! I saw your big books you want to read in 2024 video! If you want to buddy read or do a UA-cam livestream discussion or something for Under the Dome or Covenant of Water, I’m down!
Loved this 1st video Nick! I've read so many books based on your recommendations this year and you've never led me astray. Read 🤡 earlier this year and currently on my first Mistborn journey!
Great video, I got into reading 9 months ago, started with Gene Wolfe’s Shadow and Claw, absolutely incredible, sparked my love to read, never thought I’d be a fantasy fan but wow, totally hooked, I subscribed to u too btw!
I love your video's! So much fun to find you here right now, I look forward to more longform content :) Love your recommendations as a new reader, I am new in high fantasy so love to see your accessible recommendations
So excited to have you on UA-cam I love your content. The longer format rocks! Have you read all of the Stormlight Archive or just Way of Kings so far?
So good to see your channel. My reading journey started with Harry potter. I did not enjoy a court of roses and thorns too much. But overall was a good series.
My wife just found out Brandon Sanderson graduated from BYU, here in Utah. It's about a hundred miles away. Have you read any Brandon Mull books? The Fablehaven series? They're Y.A. but an excellent read.
I started reading later in life too. I like your style of just talking to us through the camera with no edits. It really refreshing actually.
I agree. I love no cuts. Even in movies when they cut a lot it bugs me.
Already one of my favorite booktube channels - love the style!
Thank you so much!
"I like big books and I cannot lie" 😂😂
I love the way you spoke about ACOTAR without spoiling anything. You are wonderful sir. Hope you're having a great day!
“I like big books… and I cannot lie” 🤣🤣 love that you’re on BookTube! 😊
You did it, dude! Stoked to see the beginning of your journey!
Don’t worry about what others think about what you read. The Harry Potter series got me back into reading
I didn't start reading until 2021 so it's really refreshing to hear another adult talk about also being new to reading. I might have finished 1 or 2 books in high school 11+ years ago but never had an interest until recently. Now I can't stop! Looking forward to more videos!
Mistborn is amazing. Great introduction into the Cosmere. I just named my adopted cat after Vin. So many amazing characters.
Haven’t even watched yet. I’m just liking and subscribing to make sure you’re on my booktube catalog! Yay!
Books are so sick! Also you seriously only started reading last year?! Amazing! Bring on Lindsey!
And you’re doing great 👍🏼
So glad you started this channel. Your TikTok’s are a comfort to watch so this is really nice to have
I didn't know Clown in a Cornfield was YA. I'm gunna pick that up for my daughter 😁
How wonderfully refreshing to find someone with such an honest, warm delivery without any affectation or the pretence of knowing more than you do.
I’m delighted to have just ‘met’ you. I love your natural, unedited style of video. I’ve also stopped myself from reading for pleasure, telling myself that every book needed to be worthy and text book like. I think you just may be encouraging me to have fun with reading, thank you! 😊
Love this! So casual yet so earnest. So refreshing, cant wait for more
Yayyyuu so excited for you to start your Booktube journey! Looking forward seeing your longer videos. I always pull up your videos while at the bookstore so ik what to pick up. Just picked up Dead Wake yesterday at B&N.
“…and I cannot lie” 😂
That was smooth.
The Well of Ascension and The Two Towers are my favorites too! I've never subbed to a channel so fast 😂
I love big books but I'm so so so intimitated. 6 months late but you're amazing!!!
Oh my gosh! Yes!!!!! This is so exciting!!! Congratulations on starting a UA-cam channel.
I found your channel today after searching around for some book reviews on Stephen King. I’ve now subscribed, I think we have similar tastes in stories.

My daughter loves Fantast so I shared this video with her. She bought the Brandon Sanderson books you recommended and is excited to read them!
You are perfect for doing book talks! I worked at the library for almost 25 years. Love your approach! 💙📚
Wonderful first video. I keep putting off reading Sanderson due to the length of his books. I only read 10 books a year and have such a back log! Maybe one day. I also buy books so shelf space is a premium. Keep up the good work on your channel.
Loved this! I just re-picked up reading with the stormlight archive. I’ll have to give mistborn a try!
Loved this!! Congrats on starting a UA-cam channel! I look forward to watching your content🎉

I enjoyed this. Thank you.
That whistle tune is awesome!
Dude love your channel so much! Been going back to rewatch all your stuff
Found your Tiktok a few weeks ago, and now I randomly found your UA-cam!! You are the best booktuber, so real and authentic!
So excited that you made a YT channel, your podcast is one of my favorites!!
Excited!
I started reading late too and the road by cormac McCarthy got me into it
You are becoming my favorite booktuber! ❤
I just started to really read this year. Started with The Way of Kings and have been blowing through the whole series
I actually think you’d love both throne of glass and Crescent City books by sjm. Glad you started a book tube channel
I like big books and i cannot lie😂u said that without even realising something...
Also you played the flute beautifully🎉
Just found your channel… 3 videos in… guess I will have to watch them all! Great stuff!
Here from TikTok. I'm excited for your channel! Yay!
My favorite book content creator! So excited for this!

Loved this! Fun and relaxing to listen to. Then Concerning Hobbits hits 🥰 all the cozy feels.
So happy to see you here!

I'm trying to get reading back too. I've taken in a number of audiobooks in.

Loved the extended version of reels! My most favorite part was the flute section 😅
Congrats on starting the channel! Clown in a cornfield was a fun popcorn book (I grew up in the eighties so it brought me back to my childhood).
great to see this channnel soaring
Well that was wonderful Nick !! Keep 'em coming !! (Somehow, I think you might be Canadian ! ❤️🇨🇦❤️)
I just wanted to say that I think it’s wonderful that you have started your career of reading! I have always been a reader - I’ve taught English and writing- but I feel like within the last five years, I have become a true reader, which is odd . I think getting older helped. 😊
This is nice! I liked how you started this reading journey and found the genre that makes you happy and more delightful to read. Keep going!

You are braver than me though, I keep considering starting a youtube channel but I'm so nervous to do it!
Keep going man!
Great job! I've bought WAY too many books since following you on IG, but no complaints! 😁 I like your summaries and reactions to all of them.
„There‘s lots of stuff they do to each other…“ 😂😂 Love your videos and really glad you are on youtube now! Keep it up! 😁👍🏻
I enjoy following your reading journey. We have a similar reading story and are into similar books. I was a non-reader until my early 30s and am now obsessed. You are my newest favorite vlogger. Keep the videos coming.
Loving the longer video format! Also, Well of Ascension was my favorite in the trilogy but the anxiety at the end almost killed me lol
tin whistle. amazing.
Good to see another man talking up ACOTAR! Love to hear it!

Yay! Excited for this channel 🎉
Favorite part was the end of your tin whistle.
Congratulations on the channel! Looking forward to the content. 😊
Subbed. I also listen to your podcast so I'm glad you decided to jump into this. Good luck. Can't wait to see more in the future.
