I think Quinn should be allowed to disassemble the engine once. I always think it's really great how he explains it and puts it together professionally. I think it would be super interesting and exciting for him to work on a Ferrari engine
PLEASE keep that engine! I would love to see a built engine from yall with a bodykit and maybe some sort of turbo kit or supercharger kit. I don't know Ferraris at all but please keep the engine and make this thing insane!
If someone makes better AM parts to replace the stock parts that commonly fail too early. Like the exhast manifold & pulleys at reasonable prices. I'd consider keeping the engine since it's reliability could be improved....But would also see how much I could sell it for and how much a something like a built 3800 V6 or another V8 would cost and what type of compatibility issues need to be overcome. Since the Ferrari engine needs to be completely pulled for maintenance every few years. If a rotary could be smaller, lighter, easier to pull & fix & make more HP, a rotary would be awesome.
I would say keep the engine. You have a variety in the shop already. It might take longer to source parts...but could also be a great engine tear down and build series for Quinn, Rickie, and Mickey to drive into if there are issues. You have your exotic expert to help guide as you need it as well.
My idea is wild but and it will be a big challenge for you guys. Italian car with Italian modern engine - 2.9 Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio from Gulia/Stelvio. Engine was created in cooperation with a Ferrari so everything is matched. 510hp is a nice number but not too big for this chassis. Sounds incredible and most important thing - NO ONE MADE IT YET ! 😁
Hearing Quinn and Ricky discuss engine options only makes me hope more that the Ferrari engine will be good to use. I'm a massive Ferrari fan, that's why I'm very happy to see one saved from an early grave. But for me a big part of the charm is the sound Ferrari engines make. You guys mentioned theK swapped 308 by Stanceworks and that's a cool project, but it just doesn't sound "Ferrari enough" to me, if that makes sense. If you do need to swap, try to get an Alfa Romeo V6, they sound ridiculous! Plus the emotional connection and ties to Ferrari would be closer!
If the Ferrari engine doesn’t work, my suggestion is a 3.5 V6 supercharged engine from Lotus. It’s by Toyota and it’s reliable 🥳 Since it’s used by the Exige then fitting it in a 355 is no issue.
Anderson Dick founder and owner of FuelTech (the ECU company) have one F355, he put a 6 speed manual, installed one FT and turbo it. It's an amazing car. He probaly knows what to do with the wiring.
You guys are legit building all my cars! The 3000gt VR4, Focus SVT and my dream exotic is the F355 Berlinetta! Really hoping this engine is solid because it is the best sounding engine hands down! But as far as space is concerned with a swap id consider a Texas speed LSX V8 Twin Turbo or to be different swap in a Ford Ecoboost V6. I'd do the LSX personally.
Man a 20b would be sick! I'd say with no turbo. Another cool project you guys have started. The paint turned out better than expected. I still dont quite trust the interior and replacing interior panels in a Ferrari sound very expensive.
I'm usually only following extreme sports people but this caught my attention, watched part 1 and 2 and literally waited for part 3. Thats something very rare for me, keep up the great content guys.
I think a VR6 would be dope, but a b20 is my second option. Theyre both pretty compact and make good power for their size, but i see so many rotary swaps and not too many VR6 swaps

Super stoked! You guys have a lot of work ahead of you to get that interior back in shape. I wouldn't be surprised if you find more mouse bitten wiring throughout the rest of the car and have to re-wire the whole thing. Hope not! Can't wait for the next one!
A 2.9 v6 turbo engine from a wrecked alfa romeo giulia 2.9 v6 turbo would be sick and was derived from a Ferrari engine so it would be a insane quasi restomod
My mind goes completely wild and thinks maybe a 3800 Series II Supercharged GM motor would be sick in that car. Upgrade the supercharger to something insane. Do a full ZZPerformance build with it? I think it'd be cool!
Man! all the engine options sound great! Though it would be different to see a R35 VR38DETT engine in this ferrari. Love the builds from this channel. I'm a car enthusiast from Bangladesh . ❤❤
No hate, but this entire video was just the last video, save for some extra clip angles. The other videos were really full of content, this one just didnt cut it
One of the best restoration i have ever seen , like you work amazing you made a Ferrari from 1000 dollar beamer and couple of bucks thats so sickk 💸🔥💙love your work
Cadillac Ats v 3.6l tt get a tune on it with solar throttle body and downpipes. Pour a few gallons of e85 and smoke every hellcat red eye by a mile. But this is an old video so we will see what you guys do. These videos are the best!
There are a couple of twin-turbo 348/355's out there. If the motor's shot, and you want to keep it in the family 4.7 F136 V8 might be an option. Maybe a BMW S60 V8 or S80 V10 as a cool way to pay respect?
A w8 engine if you need to replace/swap the original engine....prev this one will work.....a matching numbers thing!..if you do need to replace...pls dont do whats been done por favor!....great series!!....thanks for sharing and keep it up throtl team!!
What about a Closed deck IAG 2.5 Subi Engine on moderate boost. Low Center of Gravity and leaves plenty room forward to work with given the space constraints.
Its own engine if it runs. Other wise rotary would be nice or diesel would be funny. Am I weird for thinking that the 308 and 355 is the two coolest (looking) Ferrari's ever made?
Worst comes to worst. Goin along side the vr6. You can do a vr5 which you’d have to import or do the 07k motor from the 05-14 (i think) golfs, Jettas they were also in the Passats. Or do a rs3 swap. I had a 5cyl (07k) and the thing was roudy
I mean if you want to go the diesel route get a 2.5TDI V6. And on the petrol side of things I’d say a Rotary sounds awesome, even though I’d like to see a 2.5 TDI in a Ferrari 😂
If you want to know how the gear drive for the cams works buy a service manual for the car. I would get one just as a matter of making sure you do everything right. (LS3 swap would be fitting for it, but the motor is fine,I watched the other videos.)
If you can't keep the original engine, which is my first choice...then rotary engine. 20B would be cool, but a 13B could be just as cool if done with an aggressive bridgeport.
If it doesn’t run, I fully support a turbo VR6. It has to be something with a unique sound and the VR was consistently ranked as one of the best sounding engines of its time.
You still have the Viper V10 Laying around, you need to put that engine somewhere. But the coolest engine you could put in would be a V12, there are pretty cheap if you buy a used Maserati.
Make sure the fuel block is the new one or it’ll burn down. Highly recommend making sure fuel delivery is 101%. If the engine was bad, twin turbo LV3 swap every day.
Is that a big block v8? Because if it is could a ls fit in it and you can make it a high rev ls flat crank or something and it sounds like a super car still
With this being my favourite Ferrari and been lucky enough to have driven one. Please do everything possible to get that engine back in and running. It sounds beautiful 👌🏻👌🏻
Fun fact: the slice marks on the front bumper were from the neighborhood dog chasing that bunny under the car and chewed the front bumper trying to the bunny 😂 We lived across the street from that poor ferrari for years, glad to see it have life again!
well, the 3S-GTE would be a good option. Top Secret ran it in the supra for a but with one that was pushing 700hp. But even if the engine is bad, I would still say do a rebuild and keep the ferrari v8, it just sounds soooooooo delicious.
I think it would be pretty funny to see a G16E-GTS from a GR Yaris/Corolla in it. The reactions it would get when they see its being powered by a monster turbo 3 Cyl when you couldve used literally anything else.
Here is a long shot, but I think a Honda RA806e might fit. If you can get your hands on one, 20K RPM Ferrari would sound amazing through a couple bugle tips.
I keep my 355 stock-ish. I'd fix the motor if an issue, followed by swap for same engine... however a 20b would be sick. It would be funny to put an NSX motor in it. Likely the most hate for that. No chains for timing, just belts. Enzo was not happy about the NSX with "honda reliability" and 270hp (but lighter than) the Ferrari 348 with 296hp, it was just too close so the F355 was created with 380ish HP with basically a change of the head to a 5 valve. Thats why the F355 sounds so great at 8k. In a drop top you can hear even more. I would highly recommend change all the seals and gasket and do a the full engine out service (belts, etc.). That will make the car more valuable. Take pics for proof ;)
This is the best sounding v8 ferrari ever made, leave it as it is. Just put a tubi style exhaust
I agree some crazy exhaust kit and a supercharger
This project is definitely crazy i can't wait to see how it ends up
Shout out from the other side of the ocean Europe beautiful people !
Definitely supe up the original engine and add turbos
This!!! Please don’t swap this. It’s a Ferrari guys.
@@connoisseuroftigolbittswhine on a Ferrari would be badass

I think Quinn should be allowed to disassemble the engine once. I always think it's really great how he explains it and puts it together professionally. I think it would be super interesting and exciting for him to work on a Ferrari engine
I second this opinion!
You can tell he's chomping at the bit to do it too. Be a hell of a notch on the resume as well.
I guarantee it needs an overhaul anyway so that’s probably going to happen
Definitely would be awesome to look at.
Time consuming. If it ain’t broken don’t fix it.
Quinn really went from convincing the team he could work on a car to tearing apart a Ferrari 😊
Lol

No body kit on Ferrari please. That car is already a masterpiece
the guys from Fueltech did a 355 turbo, around 600whp, its a sick project
