We should not only listen for answers to our prayers, but we should also listen to the questions the Lord asks us, as we converse with Him through our Mediator.
I heard Bro Dalton's talk from Ensign college and it changed my life! I have been teaching this to everyone I can. And love that I found this to be reminded and taught further.
I loved this. I had to buy his book. For example when answering a question by discussing Alma 62:41. This was profound. It's when some were hardened because of long war with the Lamanites and some were softened because of their afflictions. I needed this. Paraphrasing he said something like, "The exact same challenge happened to both people, and some had that challenge drive them closer to God, and others had that same exact challenge drive them away from God. It's not the challenge. It's how we respond to it. If we realize that all of us in this life are going to have really tough trials, but my trials are going to be different than yours. But I have to pass my trials. So I've got to make sure that I'm committed, that I'm going to be close to God no matter what. Especially when I go through the tough times, because that is when Satan is trying his darndest to get us to give up and say God doesn't love us, he doesn't care for us, and maybe he doesn't even exist, or he wouldn't even let this happen. NO, that's when I need to turn to God even more than usual."
You are such a fine young brother. I love your kind good spirit and the things you share on your great program. I don't know the health problem you mentioned. They are hard when young like you or old like me. I have had a very very hard year myself, just now seeing some light since January. But this mortal sojourn is short, and we need to let our afflictions soften not harden us, and turn aus to the Lord, as Brother Dalton said. I know you already know this. I'm saying it for me, but you are in my prayers. Keep up the good work.
This podcast with brother Dalton is one of the best I have ever heard. I am 85 years old. For about 65 years I have been trying to figure this out. THis throws amazing light On the process of receiving revelation from the Holy Ghost. May God bless you you’re helping so many people
I knew the Dalton family, when they lived in Glendora, Ca. A great family in our neighborhood and in church. Your parents, Davida and Leonard were also awesome.
Thank you!! Yes, we love and miss our parents!! Some of the stories that I share in the book are stories from some of my siblings! Since you know my family, it may be even more fun for you!!
Loved this, Ben. Bro. Dalton’s insights have spoken directly to questions I have recently heard in our ward family. Excited to act on and share this counsel! Merry Christmas!
The book of Mormon teaches that anything that persuade us to do good is of God. If we have an impulse, an inkling, or any thought of something we should do that is good, you can know it is of God.
The Holy Ghost gently blows a thought into your mind. It's like a gentle breath that pops spontaneously into your mind without you using any cognitive energy to produce the thought. When I'm with my wife and I'm thinking about something and she starts talking to me out of the blue I didn't produce any of the words that came out of her mouth and into my mind. It took no cognitive energy to produce the words. The Holy Spirit is the same. He breathes thoughts into our minds not produced by personal cognitive set up or energy.
Further the Holy Ghost is constant companion. What are our eternal companions or wife's like? They remind us hey don't forget to take the garbage out. Did you call the doctor. Remember to pay that bill. The Holy Ghost is the same. He is our friend always talking to us about anything and everything. We think he talks about religious content all the time. He talks about everything not just religious content .
Hope this was as uplifting for you as it was for me!
Thanks Brethren this was powerful

I had the same revelatory moment when he said that, and am still thinking about it now!
