Was looking for videos to grow my 'banana' and clicked on this video by accident. Very informative and engaging, looking to buy my own Banana plant now. Thanks Gbenga!
I have 7 dwarf canvasish banana plants and 3 of the truly tiny banana plants. I think I've become obsessed lol. Enjoy them, the pup a lot and you'll wind up begging folks to take a pup lol. Happy growing 💜
I’m also a “budding” plant dad 😉 this is so informative. Thanks Gbenga. Also your style is really soothing
Yes please, do a plant tour - loved your video 🙂
So informative, thank you 🌱🌺 that summer leaf growth 😘🤌 !
I liked the part when you mentioned Nigerian cuisine. The plantains leaves are used here in Colombia too on a similar recipe, is our version of tamales
Love this!
I live in Canada and I water mine every 7 days
Hope yours is doing well
First
I wish I had a window in my bathroom. These plants like plenty of light, maybe not direct sun but 3000 LUX worth of light should keep one of these happy from a 6500k color light it might even fruit under 3000 LUX.
also they need feeding. Pick the dying leaves off then the plant spends less energy getting rid of dying leaves. They like tomato feed.
Beautiful plant and also beautiful bug. We better get a repotting video. For some reason my instinct is to worry that it’ll be harder to separate the baby once its root system is more established and potentially tangled up in its mama’s?
Ps I like moin moin with fish
(original comment was deleted) I think yes it will be harder to separate the 2 plants if they're left to grow together. But if I need to cut (some of) the roots to separate them it will probably survive
And moin moin with fish is... A choice
Allow five leaves on your plant, trim them off cutting from the underside.
What's the reasoning for only 5 leaves at a time?
I want to have this plant, any idea where I can find one here in the UK? I live in Somerset SouthWest England
Hey, I got mine at Tesco actually - but I've also seen them at other supermarkets and a few independent plant nurseries
