    Give it the most sunlight by planting it on the south side to protect it from the north wind in the winter but also avoid evening sun or you could stunt its growth and bake it's leaves? Simple enough.

      Just trying to be specific haha. People love details. This is the ideal setup for maximizing growth if possible

      Hey Michael, I am in zone 8a in Atlanta. Last year I had them in pots and brought them indoors. This year I’m going to be trying a couple new techniques for overwintering. Pipe tape, Christmas lights, bubble wrap, etc. To really find out what works. We only get down to upper 20’s in Atlanta and probably only about 10 times. So you only need to help a little to keep those stems alive. But lots of testing coming this fall and winter!

      Unfortunately it’s going to be really hard for you. I’d suggest growing in a pot so you can bring them indoors

    Does this cause a lot of pests and diseases from banana 🍌 plants? Or not really much issues

    • @georgiafarmingwithfluevog
      @georgiafarmingwithfluevog  Рік тому +1

      I have not had any issues with pests or disease yet. Just make sure they don’t stay wet and sit in water

    What do you think is happening to my banana and what should I do?

    • @georgiafarmingwithfluevog
      @georgiafarmingwithfluevog  2 роки тому +1

      I think it just got stunted a little by the heat. Pruning additional leaves can help reduce heat exhaustion because then it’s not absorbing as much sunlight anymore. The ones on your front yard are killing it. I think the partial shade helps

      @@georgiafarmingwithfluevog do you think it will have a chance at flowering by late fall? It’s almost a year old as I over wintered it

      @@blaynesplantvlog7117 If your temperatures stay above 60 into late october, I think theres a good chance you will get a flower. It really depends on the variety though. Some don't fruit until like 15 feet - so hopefully that's not what you have

    I don’t know what this guy is talking about when it comes to heat. I live in Las Vegas where temp reach 120° and my bananas do great in full sun.

      If your bananas are in a more mild climate, large swings in temperature are not good for them
