    Great video. Getting the camera in the back of the engine was very helpful (I think my 18v torque wrench and mobile phone are the most useful tools!). I was afraid that I would have to buy a specific diagnostic tool (to add to the bunch), or jump circuit leads, to clear the error messages. Instead, your video just saved me time and money. Cheers

    For the Porsche you can get the car up on 2X6 laid flat and then up on the ramps- that is how I do it. Go slow and have someone watching that the car does not push the ramp forward. - Those Eastwood ramps are very cool! Thanks for the time to make the video on the X3M!

    🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻, That was just such a an awesome video, that you just made. You made it seem so simple. I also own, a BMW X3M Competition, and I love it. To me the S58 engine, is the best engine BMW has ever made! And per cylinder, the most potente of them all, of all times…

    Question wouldn’t you want to change the filter after running the car for 5 min so the new filter doesn’t have dirty oil running through or are you just worried about the engine being hot while changing it?

    • @clinthightowerclinthightow4950
      @clinthightowerclinthightow4950 3 роки тому +3

      The oil has been filtered by the old filter. There will only be a few drops of the old "dirty" oil in the filter once the oil is changed. The amount left in the filter will be less than negligible.

    • @Engineerboy100
      @Engineerboy100  3 роки тому +3

      You could change the filter after also, just let the car sit for about 5 minutes to let the oil drain out of the filter, but you would still be working with a hot engine and could get burned ...

    Clint you are the best! Do you have a part number for the vacuum line by chance?

  • @dustinberg1134
    @dustinberg1134 7 місяців тому

    Did this today, dont need to remove the vacuum hose, but you do need to remove a wire harness that has two clips done by hand. You need a ratchet with a long extension and a flexible joint,should have shown that in detail. Uses 0w30 synthetic, i use amsoil. Then reset computer. Uses 7 liters not 6.

    Excellent video Clint Hightower. Once the oil in my 2021 X3 M Comp needs changing I'll know how to do it. The oil reset light may be a touch different though. At the 17:05 mark you had a nice cushioned mat that you were laying on. Who makes that unit & do you remember where you bough it from... ?

    • @Engineerboy100

      Don't use the ECS Plug, there is a manufactures defect and it is under sized. the OD should be 0.46" but it is 0.44" could strip the threads in you oil pan. I found out about it when I went to install it. They gave me a refund.

      No I didn't, the ECS drain plug was not machined correctly and I ended up sending it back :( Sorry about that, I didn't notice until later.
