One of the best lease deals around as it relates to the % of the monthly payment to MSRP. Most can be had for 15-20% off of MSRP, plus highly incentivized to lease. Except for the tires and brakes, all maintenance included, 50,000 mile warranties, and free loaner cars when you drop the vehicle off for service. The total cost of ownership and the convenience and high end experience is not as costly as you would think.

The standard versions of the X3 have simple sport modes I believe; if you're buying an M vehicle they expect for you to know what you're doing by giving you even more customization.

I know it's a lot of money, but I was really surprised to hear that a fully loaded version stickered for around $84,000. Watching the video, I was expecting the price to be north of $100,000.

Ventilated seats and adaptive cruise are standard on a 25K Kia Forte, but you have to pay $2000 extra to get them on a $77k BMW. I know the Germans make fantastic cars, but I can’t shake the feeling they’re screwing you price-wise just because they can.
Don't forget the Jaguar F-Pace SVR which has 550 HP.
I am more interested in that Volvo next to it. Are you reviewing that next?

@@ivanlowjones lolol, trying to be all fancy. Let me help you with a couple things first. Oil and filter changes are maintenance. A $5K repair dropping the sub frame and drivetrain to replace $20 vavle seals is not. This is the kind of crap you BMW owners try to pull. Trying to equate numerous and costly repairs with maintenance. ANYTHING will run forever if you fix it when it breaks. You can OCD preventative maintenance all you want, that junk is still going to break down worse than a 80s American car.
And yes, we have verifiable facts of BMW making sub par cars in the reliability end of things for 100 years. They can't even keep the plastics from drying out. Actually they can, they just wont, they know full well people that are bad with money will keep on buying.
Its not all bad, i understand Germans do innovate, and we need that. They innovate, the Japanese perfect it. It all works out. But if BMWs were as least as reliable as American cars and at least some effort went into them to make them serviceable id be all about BMW. But for now they just piss me off.
Jaion Cebollero Tell that to everyone who bought an E60/E61 M5 and are now dealing with Rod Bearing Issues. Also the N62 V8 that was in the 6 series that has so many heat-related issues and valve stem seal issues. BMW is fun to drive until it spends a lot of time in the shop.
It’s about time. I have been waiting to watch your review on this car and it’s finally here. I have been eyeballing this car for a long time and I am considering trading my 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 for one. I was stuck between getting an F-Pace SVR or this and I keep coming back to this X3M because I feel it offers more features that I want with a good price point. The biggest highlight that makes this particular car stand out to me is like you said, the practicality (or some practicality if you consider fuel mileage, rating and consumption). Also the price compared to its competitors is just right. But what also sold it for me is that it is an SUV that is not only capable of leaving many sports cars in the dust but its capable in all weather conditions too and living in the PNW, I would want this kind of vehicle. Its Sporty, has luxurious stylings, all the tech you need in a car currently and of course AWD. Yes, the comfort level is going to be a con. I don’t mind a stiff suspension because it comes with the territory with sportier cars but I also don’t want shaken baby syndrome and many roads in big cities just suck. I know where I live it does. Things to ponder I guess but hopefully when the pandemic is over with, I can go out and test drive one and see for myself. Thanks for always giving such great reviews and thorough reviews.

Gorgeous seats! This would definitely be in my garage if I had the cash. Nicer interior than the stelvio in my opinion. Only gripe would be the screen. More integration down into the dash would be nice.
I like the stelvio, but yeah, the interior is rough for the price point.

Yeah I agree, the Hellcat engine is very solid. Even Scotty Kilmer who hates FCA ranked the Hellcat Engine #1 in one of his videos. Obviously interior will be nicer on the BMW, but do you want a 6 cylinder turbo, or a big V8 with a huge supercharger and bragging rights on HP? Neither is a bad choice.
@@floridamaddogg I'd rather have the bmw, I like nicer interiors. I'm not a fan of v6s, but bmws have great v6s and it works well in this platform
@@weirdshibainu everyone has there own personal likes. I own a Challenger Hellcat and the engine and power is insane. But I would probably choose the BMW too. Also, you might want to edit your comment before others see it. BMW makes inline 6, not V6. They make the best inline 6s today.
Not going to say I wouldn't buy this X3M, because it would be a lie. I love it. But honestly I would 100% buy the X5M.
That right turn, the m3 is a real one.
Sorry, I'm no expert, but a crossover will never handle as well as a sedan. Lower center of gravity means better handling. It's just physics.
You really had fun with this x3M. The last time I was this excited about a bmw was the e46 and E39.
Traded my 2016 911 GTS for the X3M Comp. The ride on the BMW is much better than my 911. Coming out of a 911 that would be expected. Just as fast and way more comfortable. Obviously the handling is not as good but I would say that this SUV defies physics. I am also saving $1200 a month between payment and insurance. :)
i have a 340 with the B58 engine. I cant wait for the next M3 with the S58

I have a 2018 X3 M40i and love it! So strange the way they set up the start/stop like you pointed out and didn’t wrap it with the carbon fibre.

I don't know how it's even possible for an X3 to weight over 4600 pounds. That's a ridiculous amount of weight for a compact SUV. The Germans need to do a much better job of cutting weight. At these prices, this thing should be all aluminum and lightweight steel. I'm also getting tired of so many brands not offering Android Auto, I mean come on!
Not a suv fan but this thing is pretty sweet. I like my vehicles to have a firm suspension.

You actually can add the navigation display in the gauges if you disable navigation in the heads up display. But it only works with the stock BMW navigation and not Apple Carplay.
This could be great when it’s 2 years old and half the price as a CPO

I like this a lot. But I'm not a huge SUV guy. I think I'd opt for a M550i and screw the utility part. And pray to the M Godz and hope for the best, post warranty. But I do like it though!!!

I drive 7 is available now in addition to the full LCD display.
I have a 2020 M40I and a lot of the presets are on that trim, also the Idrive with Apple Play is very quick so I'm not sure if things didn't get carried over to M3Comp.
I hope that you can do a review on the LCI 2022 version and not any differences.

What's the point of firm riding German SUV or any SUV... if we want that we go for a hatchback but a firm bumpy SUV is the most ironic product.
SUVs must be higher than other vehicles styling and most importantly they must be comfortable then beside that I don't mind anything.
I like the infotainment screen kinda push back a little not like Audi right under the air vents, kinda in your face

The problem with this engine is that the connecting rods are not forged and they come from the f90 M5 and they are not all that strong... so to me the isn’t forged connecting rods are a weak point in an engine like this...
4600 lbs and 14 mpg?! Which means it probably actually gets about 12 or 13 tops. That's atrocious. and yes you do buy these to get some MPG because it's an SUV otherwise why would you not just buy a sports car. You buy these for performance AND practicality, part of practicality is MPG.
It's definitely a cool car but seriously what is the point? With the amount of money you're going to spend on this you can buy two cars, get a proper sports car and a practical grocery getter.

Brian Johnson LoL.....we didn’t buy this for the MPG. We bought it for the SMILES per Gallon. Sometimes...that’s WORTH WAAAY more. Ever drive one? You’d understand if you did. Plus...14 mpg WRONG. Low conservative, Full Throttle, drive Like an Ass numbers. We’ve been getting 17-18 (that’s with getting ON IT plenty) around town and 24-25 MPG on Highway Trips. Other X3M owners are ALSO getting the same. So you’re MPG comment doesn’t hold any water. PERIOD......
Tyrel Tolliver what if I already have a “Common Sense” Family Cars (Sports Wagons) and a couple “True” Sportscars? Is it Ok for me to buy this car then? LOL. People don’t buy this car for Common Sense. This 550+ Horsepower SUV is anything BUT THAT......it makes No Sense. And that’s the True Beauty of it.... 8^)
My M3 comp is also on the stiff side, would be good to know if this is stiffer that a current circa M3 comp.
Not a fan of the exterior. Too aggressive. No option for air suspension is a deal breaker in terms of being a true daily driver. Red leather interior would have also been nice, but doesn't appear to be available. For $6k more, the Macan Turbo would be a better all around option (and more refined) with air suspension and premium package plus. A simple 93 octane COBB tune would yield comparable performance figures.

A Dream yes but it’s likely really 550hp-600hp as BMW under rates their numbers all the time : 3.3 to 60 is insane. I used to have a 435i rated at 300hp yet it got to 60 in 4.2 seconds
Turbo chargers= money pit.
There are many turbo charged motors that have no issues.
