Eugene Burger was a massively influential magician. If you’re just discovering him, you’re in for a true magical journey of learning. You must obtain his books. All of them. Start with “The Experience of Magic”. If you take magic seriously, it’ll change your life. I promise.

I'm seriously late here, but wow! Ben, it must be such a surreal experience to see one of your mentors performing something you created! You'll help keep his legacy alive through your own performances and that's a wonderful, beautiful fact! Eugene will always be present in our community. His teachings and influence will be felt long after we're all gone. I'm sure years down the line Ben, your works might inspire an aspiring magi who seeks esoteric knowledge 100 years from now. It truly is a humbling thought.

There are just two little pieces of info you need to know, but I'm obviously noy going to say here, but they're not hard to figure out, well, not too hard. The technical side is pure genius.

Appreciate the magic philosophy of Eugene Burger but this trick was sheer boredom. Practically self-working trick. And the "frame" was boooring. (Has anyone here read Eugene's books? Who knows what I was alluding to with the word "frame?")

Thank you for your feedback. Different strokes for different folks. Tens of thousands of people disagree with you. The only part of your post that bothers me is that you “declare” it to be however you perceive it as if it’s empirical, and yet it is subjective. That makes you sound unqualified to render an opinion very much to matter to those who love this routine. If it’s not for you, then why do you care? Do you have a need to make others validate your objections? I wonder what kind of material you do like. (Not really, though.)

@@benblaumentalism6245 Bingo! Subjective. Different strokes. What bothers me about your comment is that you assume that I said mine was objective or empirical. Can I not express my opinion?
I began my comment stating that I appreciate Eugene Burger. In fact, he is one of my top favorites. I appreciate his books more than probably all of the other magic books I've read. I merely just expressed the fact that I thought that particular effect was boring - to me. I did not insinuate that it should be boring to you or anyone else.
